  1. come on Bills, let's melt some mutha !@#$in cheese!
  2. I remember that video. Seem to remember they had Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi on there too. There was also one called NFL Goes Motown. Now, this video was made before the Bills lost the 4 Super Bowls, and they had a segment featuring Elway and Tarkenton losing all their Super Bowls, set to What Becomes of the Broken Hearted by Jimmy Ruffin. But now whenever I hear that song I always picture Kelly getting sacked in the big game, or Thurman sitting on the sidelines with his head in his hands after the 4th loss. Weird how things turn out, what with Elway winning 2 in the end.
  3. He did consider entering the draft last year but apparently got some advice from Wentz and his coaches and decided to play an extra year. Imagine how raw he would have been if he'd declared in 2017?
  4. Anyone watch Romo's a Football Life episode? Really good. I like him even more after that. I hate the Cowboys but even I felt a bit bad that he never got further than the divisional round.
  5. This thread got me interested so I've just looked up first round QBs by year since 83 (since this is my era). There were no first rounders in 84 or 85 so let's start with 86: Jim (or Chris...) Everett Chuck Long (I remember this guy - had no idea he was picked 12th overall) 87 Kelly Stouffer Chris Miller Jim Harbaugh (had no idea he was taken in the first, either) 88 None 89 Troy Aikmen 90 Jeff George Andre Ware 91 Dan McGwire Todd Marinovich 92 David Klingler Tommy Maddox 93 Drew Bledsoe Rick Mirer 94 Heath Shuler Trent Dilfer 95 Steve McNair Kerry Collins 96 None 97 Jim Drunkenmiller 98 Peyton Manning Ryan Leaf 99 Tim Couch Donovan McNabb Akili Smith Daunte Culpepper Cade McNown 2000 Chad Pennington 01 Michael Vick 02 David Carr Joey Harrington Patrick Ramsey 03 Carson Palmer Byron Leftwich Kyle Boller Rex Grossman 04 Manning Rivers Big Ben JP Losman (ouch!) 05 Alex Smith Aaron Rodgers Jason Campbell 06 Vince Young Matt leinart Jay Cutler 07 Jamarcus Russell Brady Quinn 08 Matt Ryan Joe Flacco 09 Matt Stafford Mark Sanchez 10 Sam Bradford Tim Tebow 11 Cam Newton Jake Locker Blaine Gabbert Christian Ponder 12 Andrew Luck Robert Griffin Ryan Tannehill Brandon Weedon 13 EJ Manuel (OOOOOUUUUCH!) 14 Blake Bortles Johnny Manziel Teddy Bridgewater 15 Jameis Winston Marcus Mariota 16 Jared Goff Carson Wentz Paxton lynch 17 Mitchell Trubisky Patrick Mahomes Deshaun Watson
  6. Kelly's story is just fantastic. I love the stuff about him saying he "sure as hell" didn't want to play in Buffalo. And then the interview when he played in the USFL and said, "would you rather be in Houston or Buffalo?" before laughing with the interviewer. Bills fans, especially those living in Buffalo, must have just hated him then. And then he finally agrees to play, plays brilliantly, falls in love with the city, goes to 4 Super Bowls and raises his family there. It's just great.
  7. I love reading and watching stuff about the old days. The 30 for 30 shows and A Football Life are great. I watch the NFL still, but for me it's just not the same game I grew up loving. I know I sound like an old fart, but all the rule changes have hurt the sport IMO. Some were necessary but the league is so obsessed with high scoring games, and so many of the younger fans are so obsessed with fantasy that it's watered the whole thing down.
  8. Will take years to know and will take a hell of an effort to beat 85, or even the year of Big Ben, Eli and Rivers. I assume everyone here has watched the 30 for 30 show 'Elway to Marino'. If you haven't, do it right now. Fantastic documentary. That entire first round was special. So many great players like Dickerson and Matthews etc. and so many great stories behind the scenes. Fascinating that the Cowboys were desperately trying to get Elway, and for a time Bill Walsh considered trading Montana so he could go after Elway. Even Tony Eason got his team to a Super Bowl despite having a poor career. Ken o Brien was no slouch (25,000 yards over an 11 year career).
  9. Bless him, he's one hell of a nephew.
  10. I quite like Sal's show, the sound quality is terrible but I just like his and Leo's opinions. Even if they are curmudgeons.
  11. The Strahan one is verging on genius. Okay, I take that back. The one of him kicking Johnny Lawrence in the face is pure, 100% GENIUS Hmm, the picture of EJ holding up is number 1 jersey is somehow depressing as hell
  12. I actually think Ivory's style helped us more Vs the Vikings. He's more of a straight ahead runner, which I think suits the limited abilities of this offensive line.
  13. The Bills were considering bringing Allen in to throw the hail Mary's while Peteman was starting, does that mean Peterman's career is don... Never mind , bad example
  14. He's one of those guys who simply tells you what's going on, which is fine, but Van Miller seemed to convey so much more than detail - he painted a picture that came through the speaker and made you feel like you were there.
  15. Yeah, they do this every year it seems. Takes Belichick a while to get his new players down with the system and then they hit the gas in the second quarter of the year. When you look at how the Bills played in weeks 1 and 2 Vs this week, maybe the Bills have actually done a Pats?
  16. Yeah, as soon as he changes a play at the line and hurls one deep to punish a safety blitz or something I will be changing my wife's name to Josh
  17. Bradford is a genius, he's made a ridiculous amount of money from an extremely limited body of work
  18. Beuerlein (thanks thread starter for teaching me how to spell it) was okay, but Romo is just great.
  19. Isn't Rodgers playing on a walking frame right now? We've got them at a good time.
  20. I do feel sorry for Tyrod, or as sorry as I can feel for a multi millionaire, as he does work really hard and never speaks out of line. He's a really good teammate. But yeah, he's just NOT GOOD. The guys on some of the podcasts I listen to sounded surprised by his performance against the Jets. They must have seen him play for Buffalo at some point? Romo's comment about interceptions was quite telling yesterday, saying sometimes you just have to take a shot to show you're willing, even if you throw the odd int. Tyrod just refused to do that. However I do think he's a very good backup QB to have.
  21. I'm so confident that today I sold my house, car and Thai bride of 3 months, and will be putting the entire 2k on the BILLS!
  22. The Viking player looks like he's just picked up a hard-to-reach football with a Josh Allen shaped grabber tool I ain't seen a white man jump like that since Billy Hoyle in 92 Hey Barr, here's a purple ponytail to stick on your purple helmet
  23. I'd only bet that sort of money if I could do it like Joe Pesci in Casino. "When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookie to go !@#$ themselves"
  24. I love this kid. He not only throws it so fast and far that he once hit himself in the back of his head with one of his own passes, but he also has the ability to fly and leap tall LBs in a single bound.
  25. Yeah it was amazing but he shouldn't do it again unless it's a playoff game. It served its purpose though. Aside from the first down it will also give him a hell of a lot of respect from his teammates
