Dolphins Promote Nick O'Leary to the 53 Man Roster

O' Leary plays without gloves, Lee plays without a brain and Benjamin plays without a heart. Someone needs to organise these guys a trip to see the great and powerful Oz. -

The Best Matchup of Week Five: JAX vs. KC
RobbRiddick replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I quite like the Jags, like the way they've been built and would love to see the Bills follow the same model. I was disappointed when Marrone quit. He wasn't well liked, for good reason, but I felt he was building something here (have to admit though I thought Hackett was a terrible coordinator and kept saying Marrone needed to get rid of him to really flourish as a coach, but he's called some great games for the Jags). I think they might bring KC down on Sunday. Mahomes is due. But if the guy cuts up the Jags and throws multiple TDs again then you have to wonder when the crazy pace he's on this season will end. Well you should know by halftime one way or another. None of the Bills' 4 games so far have had anything to play for in the second half. This one will probably end up going to overtime with a final score of 12-9. -
I get your point, but I don't think you can blame people for being impatient. Despite the playoffs last year, which we only just scraped into anyway, this club has YEARS of boneheaded decisions and poor performance behind them, so it stands to reason fans will lose it when the team fails to score a single point in a league where losing teams are regularly putting up scores in the 30s or 40s. In fact, I'd say Bills fans don't moan enough considering how bad this team has been since the millennium. They still turn out to the stadium each week and still watch the games enthusiastically on TV. After we beat the Vikes I had a look at one of their forums - if you think it's bad here, check that place out. They were calling for the entire defense to be fired, whining about never getting any luck, talking about being cursed. This is a team that was in the championship game last year. Actually, when you look around this forum, I think a lot of Bills fans have actually crossed the point of all out moaning and misery and have entered that slightly mad stage where you just mask the mental illness the team is causing you with humor. I think that's the lesser known 6th stage of grief: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance and... drooling madness ( I reached stage 6 when we drafted Maybin)

Sal Carpaccio’s Plan To Fix Offense in 2019
RobbRiddick replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know this would be a LONG shot and you'd have to find someone willing to trade up but if it were me and we had a REALLY high pick I'd trade down and grab someone's second. In fact if I went from, say, pick 3 to pick 9, I would consider trading down again to maybe the late teens. At this point I'd just try and accumulate as many picks in the first three rounds as I could and completely rebuild that O-line, mixed with some veteran leadership via FA. Grab a couple of WRs and maybe a TE. I'd try and draft two wideouts in the first three rounds, and also get at least one through FA. Three o-linemen, two via FA. A TE, some depth at CB somewhere along the way - I do trust this regime at picking up defensive backs, even in the later rounds. Easy to say but that would be how I'd attack it. I see the logic of going after a 'superstar' WR high in the draft but they are notorious for taking a while to develop in many cases, so I'd rather improve the talent in many areas right across the offense. -
I was just kidding, I don't care who they bring in so long as it improves the team

Character trumps strategy. Desperation trumps character. Trump's character is desperate. That's awesome. He runs, he hurdles. Someone check if he can throw and we have our backup QB!

Bills in Blue on White on Sunday vs. the Titans

Oh yeah. I just Googled JP and sure enough they did have the red helmets still. I think I must have been remembering the throwback uniforms with the white helmets. -
Timing on Josh's dropbacks
RobbRiddick replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They said something interesting on One Bills Live (I swear), they were talking about how in the Vikings game the DC backed off a little with all the blitzes because of the early success the Bills had moving the ball. If the Titans blitz a lot early it'll be interesting to see if Allen can hit some of his hot reads, and if they ease up on them a little after. Stands to reason teams will keep blitzing until we prove we can beat them. -

I agree. What year did they switch? Surely it didn't coincide with us becoming crap? They definitely had red helmets for the homerun throwback, and definitely had white helmets for the Losman era, but I can't remember what they wore for the Bledsoe years... I think it was red actually -
Sean McDermott: "Culture Trumps Strategy" ?
RobbRiddick replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should have said "culture is just as important as strategy". It's like when I drunkenly told my wife "a good ass beats personality". I knew just from her scowl that I should have at least put them on equal footing. -

I think we should employ an expert on AI to build a lifelike robot so we can create a player in Madden and then feed all his attributes directly into the robot's head. He'd have the talent of Montana, Unitas and Brady all rolled into one and the personality of Doug Marrone. We could give him a really cool name like Dirk Diggler and will win many Super Bowls.

He needs to think of it as a very interesting 15-20 minute mark of his A Football Life episode in twenty year's time

Josh Allen: A fawn in headlights
RobbRiddick replied to Wayne Arnold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looked all lost at sea but not rattled. Rattled means you're terrified and play scared. I don't think he's scared by what he's seeing, just confused. I think he also doesn't trust his O line one bit so he doesn't trust them to keep linemen and blitzers off his back, which is why he's trying to escape pressure at the first sign of danger. I'm not making excuses for his poor play, he was terrible yesterday. I think he's so competitive and so desperate to help elevate this poor offense that he's trying to do too much. I guess that's one extra thing for him to process. The main thing with this season for me is seeing how he does week to week. We know the playoffs are a no go so that's the main interest for me. I've accepted that he was crap yesterday and now want to see how he comes back next week. I want to see if Allen improves on the small things week to week. If he's still playing like he did yesterday in seven or 8 game's time I will be VERY worried. -

He doesn't look particularly rattled in that picture. He could just as easily be taking a dump* *admittedly that would be odd to do while still wearing his helmet, but when you gotta go... I guess in a manner of speaking he was taking one yesterday
