  1. They probably can't imagine what it would be like to just have that automatic expectation that the Bills would make the Super Bowl. Back then I just assumed they'd coast to the playoffs and then win every playoff game. When they went down to the Oilers I was genuinely shocked at the prospect of there being a Super Bowl without the Bills. Then they came back and I somehow wasn't as shocked at that.
  2. It's funny, the media make it sound like the NFL is really popular there, but it isn't. It's a tiny minority sport with a small section of hardcore fans. They're the ones who fill Wembley but all attend in the jerseys of the teams they support. No way they would change allegiance to support the Jags.
  3. On the plus side at least you can always say you saw New Kids on the Block, Michael Jackson and Gloria Estefan live...
  4. Hostetler not fumbling wasn't the big turning point. The turning point was Andre Reed dropping an easy first down over the middle on the Bills following drive (because of the safety the Giants had to kick it back to the Bills immediately). At 12-3 up and the Bills with ALL the momentum, if they go down and score then, the Giants wouldn't have come back, not with that offense. That game is just one long list of what ifs and should haves. If they'd given Thomas the ball more he would have ended up with about 250 yards rushing and about three or four TDs. Wow, 27 years ago. I still remember taking a dump at halftime as if it were yesterday.
  5. Way too many Bills fans here have never seen Reservoir Dogs. I hope they're not all watching Dirty Dancing and Sleepless in Seattle Oh my lord. Even if you haven't seen the film surely you must wonder why a guy would talk about tipping in the middle of a long Bills post! I kinda want to quote Sam Jackson's "pigs are filthy animals" bit from Pulp Fiction but I'm afraid I'll get all the animal rights activists after me.
  6. You could just as easily ask how often prototype 'sure thing' QBs work out, answer: very rarely. QB is a position in general where most just don't work out in a big way.
  7. Interestingly, this was the year we took Darby in the 2nd. One pick after him, the Browns took Nate Orchard, who we signed. One pick after Nate? The Dolphins picked new Bill Jordan Philips. Since we seem to be accumulating players from this draft I think it's only right we sign Flowers. Oh, we also drafted our own crap lineman, Miller, in the third
  8. Lol, I love it. Saw on NFL. com that he'd been released and knew there would be a thread about bringing him in here! As always, aother team's garbage is Buffalo Bill gold!
  9. Poor guy. If only Nate Peterman was his QB, the ball wouldn't have even reached him for him to drop it
  10. So all he's done is have an affair? I was worried he'd done an OJ or been caught snorting cocaine off a stripper's breasts like Bob Morton in Robocop. This isn't even worth reading about. I experienced a bigger drama than this when I took a dump this morning...
  11. I love Shady but would do it for a second. Then trade down in the first to pick up another second if possible. Imagine having three second rounders and a first to rebuild the receiver corps and o line
  12. Ah, the missing piece, now I can book my SB tickets!
  13. Brady is such an ego maniac he'll keep playing until he's 60 so he can beat it
  14. Said it before but will say it again, if I were Beane I'd try and trade down to get a second 2nd rounder, then grab a wr with my first rounder, plus a lineman and a second wr with my 2nd rounders. I'd go for maybe a TE in round 3 depending on what's there or another lineman. Then grab a couple of receivers in FA plus a couple more linemen. Hell, I'd use some of my later picks on linemen too. I don't just want new starters, I want to overhaul the depth as well.
  15. I much prefer Tre Island to White Island, which sounds worryingly like a KKK member's favourite holiday destination.
  16. It's still early but you have to say these guys have done a great job of building the defense. It's starting to look really good and they've made some great pick-ups. Once they decide to actually concentrate on the offense you have to have a little more faith that they'll build a good unit. If we end up with a defense that plays like this and an offense that can actually score points, we'll be deadly. Imagine a team trying to play catch-up from a couple of TDs down against our defense the way it played today.
  17. I'm only interested if you bet 5k on them
  18. "So let me run this past you, boss. Just hear me out. If we win the Super Bowl will you let me get an hour with Kim?"
  19. Okay, now Allen gets a chance to be a hero... or maybe he'll throw another INT
  20. Can't pin that on Allen. 2 good throws on that drive
  21. How lucky, he did a Jackie Smith!
  22. The defense is definitely coming into its own. Just need to get this offense fixed
  23. Damn, thought we had the safety there
  24. It's like an offense from the 80s jumped into a DeLorean and travelled to 2018. Does Allen ride a skateboard?
