I 100% hate Amendola (70% because he played for the Pats/30% because he's drilling that chick from Good Morning Football) -

Tom Terrific? Not so fast.

Tom Tit is still available -
I used to really like the announcing team of Maguire, Simms and the great Dick Enberg. They called the SB between the Packers and Broncos, which IMO is still one of the best, and did a fantastic job.

Dawson Knox Playing on Friday!
RobbRiddick replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hope they run some sets with him and Sweeney on the field at the same time and send them both out on routes -
It's weird with the Pats, they've got a murderer, a sex trafficker and a cocaine dealer, yet poor Tom Brady decides to make out with his son one day and he gets a majority of the ridicule.

I thought the Orlando Apollos was a good name in the AAF -
XFL Unveils team logos/names

I watched a little on the TV but not too much. I remember it being quite scrappy, sort of like the AAF and XFL and most other start up leagues. Though they did get a few players who had success in the NFL. Warner being the biggest, but also John Kitna, Adam Vinatieri, Dante Hall, Brad Johnson, James Harrison and Jake Delhomme. -

I just looked up the old WLAF uniforms to see if my memory was right. There are definitely some good ones I think. Some awful ones too, like the cloud, but looks like they went with a less is more approach (sorry, this was the best image I could find) -
XFL Unveils team logos/names
RobbRiddick replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. When you look at the names in the NFL, they're not jokey or overly aggressive sounding. Names like Renegades and Roughnecks sound like they're connected to WWE. It's like they're picked to be 'cool' but like you say, they just come off as lame. But yeah, some of the actual logos are pretty cool. I remember the World League which became NFL Europe. They had some great names and logos when they started, New Jersey Knights, London Monarchs, Raleigh Durham Skyhawks, San Antonio Riders, Barcelona Dragons. There were some bad ones too, but on the whole I think they did a good job with that, and some of the uniforms were actually to the standard of the NFL IMO -

I refuse to watch this until the Alliance of American Football season is over. Longest football season I've ever known, though the power rankings haven't changed since about week 6 or 7 -
Why did yuppies put lime in Corona's?
RobbRiddick replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's meant to keep the flies out, same reason I drop lemon wedges in my toilet bowl -
I don't mind the negative guys. If the Bills suck in the regular season then they're justified in being that way, if the team is good or great then they will have to change their tune you'd think

Only if he cuts Croom
-
The only way he'd go is if he 'lost' the team, which I cant imagine happening given his style and his relationship with the players. So even if they were 4-11 heading into the final week, they'd still play hard and give it everything, in which case I'm sure Terry and Kim would put it down to stuff other than the head coach (coodinators, bad luck, Belichick voodoo or something). The co-ordinators would probably go, but not McDermott. He'd need a really poor 2020 on top of that to get fired.

Despite my many years of watching football I'll be the first to admit that I'm very average at evaluating players, but I wasn't particularly impressed with Ed Oliver in the two games so far. When I heard Cossell talk about him being engulfed I was a bit shocked as I've not really heard anyone else so far who saw what I saw. Hope I'm wrong and he takes Darnold's head off in week one

Sully is optimistic; we're f***ed...
RobbRiddick replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't mind Sully. The pessimism is okay when so many other fans and media outlets are full of optimism. But his writing style annoys me sometimes. He tends to use very short sentences. Like this. And like the last one. It can sometimes be jarring. But maybe that's just me. Maybe not.
