Ahhhhhhh those were the days. The Bills were good, I had hair, I was slim, I hadn't yet met any of my ex wives, the sun always shone, there was no social media, casual sexism went unchecked, I could bend down to pick something up without moaning in agony and I was convinced we'd win the Super Bowl before I died. At least the Bills are good again

Malaki Starks wants to pick off Josh Allen most
RobbRiddick replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
They asked Max the same question and he said Mahomes. I don't think any of us are saying that's a sign of disrespect, just that he wants to make a huge contribution in a huge game against the best opponent -
I have a faint memory of listening to a draft podcast in the lead up to him being number 1 when Merril Hoge was talking about how he wasn't very good and people acted like he was crazy. In fact I just found this clip of him saying the same thing on another show

Meh, it's just another example of the kidification of the NFL. I noticed at the draft when Goodell came out and everyone was booing and he stood there saying "bring it on" or something, it reminded me of McMahon in the WWE. It is what it is. I'm old and am no longer the demographic they're aiming for. The only ones pitching to me are the erectile dysfunction pills they're always hawking during the ad breaks

Tell you what stood out to me. When they showed the Bills FG, for a second I was like "hey, that's a modern style of kicking for back then", then I heard the announcer say Gogolak's name and realized why

Love the innocence of this. "Our slow motion camera capturing the action!"

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
RobbRiddick replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am excited about seeing this guy. He looks good on film and also looks like a football player. An old school player. You can imagine this guy on the 85 Bears. -
But there was a second post

Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
RobbRiddick replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is probably in the thread already but just in case it isn't, this is a nice breakdown of his senior bowl tape. -
Not sure if this has been posted in this thread but I just stumbled across it. Howard and Jeremy crying the day after Buffalo drafted Josh. It's great!

Bills Offseason moves to date & Projected Roster
RobbRiddick replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have to say -
You can see why Stefanski looked pissed when they announced the pick. Clearly an owner order, and as soon as the Browns lose a few games you know the talk of Deion becoming their new HC will start. I'd be amazed if that doesn't end up a disaster for them. If he doesn't start the season the chants for him will begin as soon as the starter has a bad game. If he does play well he'll be demanding more money. If he plays and plays badly Deion will say it's because they're not using him the right way. Urgh, definitely a circus waiting to happen

Right that's it. From now on Josh is banned from riding in or driving golf carts. In fact I don't want him playing golf at all, it's a stupid sport
-
I would but there are certain teams I will refuse to let draft him.

I like Beane a lot and see his point but when he says "people were saying this last offseason" he fails to remember he went out and panic traded for Cooper when he realised the WR room needed help

I don't know about anyone else but I've always had an affinity with old abandoned stadiums. There's something really atmospheric about these huge, empty buildings that once held so much atmosphere and celebrations and special moments. I remember seeing people exploring the old Silverdome in Detroit and it was fascinating. Just found this video on RFK from some urban explorers here and it's pretty interesting. When you think of all the big moments they had there, like the NFC championship games, and now it's just a ghost. Listen closely and you can hear the brass band playing hail to the Redskins as Pat Summerall and Madden wax lyrical about the Hogs.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
RobbRiddick replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd be happy with him. Look at the Samuel injury that dogged him most of last season. If something like that happens again it'll be reassuring to know you have a similar guy ready to get an increased role -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

Thank god we don't digg WRs -
The big guy has me intrigued. I can only go by stuff I watch and read and listen to post draft but I've seen a lot of stuff today from people saying this guy was the steal of the draft. I know you can find those articles about lots of players but it's interesting how he is so polarizing. Lots of people see him as having amazing potential to be a game wrecker and others view him as a wasted pick. I'm looking forward to seeing him play

I haven't listened to his show, has he been campaigning for a first round pick on a WR and complaining about that, or did he want a speed WR in the mid rounds or FA? The latter I don't have a problem with. If he's complaining they didn't go after a super high-end receiver with draft capital or FA money then I agree with Beane that you can't have everything
-
I've just listened to it and didn't think Beane came across as overly salty. In a way I can understand him being a bit sensitive when you hear his point about being the biggest scorers in the league last year. But I do think the fantasy football line is a little OTT. It's not about trading next years number 1 for Tyreek Hill, it's about having a speed threat who can stretch the field and help keep the defense honest by taking a few shots at them each game. I don't think that's a crazy wish for a fan/pundit to have or suggest. Just because the offense played well last season doesn't mean defenses won't adjust this year. The whole point of running an effective offense is that you throw a few wrinkles in each season to show the defense something fresh.

I think Beane has been on the whiskey again

Bill Belichick Interview CBS Sunday Morning
RobbRiddick replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
- Bill, how did you meet your gf? - Well, funniest thing, my friend introduced me to her as "the multi millionaire former NFL coach" and she instantly seemed really into me.
