It'd be more fascinating if the Pats were a better team. Any given Sunday and all that but Brady isn't the kind of player to get nervy about a big game and I see him having his way pretty easy. I'll definitely watch but will be very surprised if it even goes the distance.

I want to see us win by 40 and then see the Pats lose by 40. That's not too much to ask is it? -
Who is more important: Belichick vs. Brady?
RobbRiddick replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well let's look at it this way. Aside from Belichick's record with the Browns, in 2000 the Pats went 5-11. In 2001 they were 0-2 before Brady started his first game. As I remember, there was a lot of talk about the Pats having an awful O-line when Bledsoe was starting. It looked completely different when Brady and his incredible pocket awareness went in. There is a hell of a lot of evidence that Belichick is an average head coach when Brady isn't in the building -
"Josh Allen played with the poise of a well-seasoned quarterback, hustling to give Buffalo an early lead in his first NFL road start. Then, the Bills turned their defense loose on Kirk Cousins and delivered a stunningly lopsided victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Allen accounted for three touchdowns, making Cousins look like the raw rookie as the Bills beat the Vikings 27-6 on Sunday as 16 1/2-point underdogs." We all remember this game, so there's no way I'll get cocky and predict an easy win. You just never know, especially with a young, relatively unknown QB who doesn't have much film on him yet. Plus everyone telling the Texans they have no chance must act as motivation. The key is to break their spirit early and make them believe they have no chance. As always I am picking against us. Patriots* Fan Trolls Belichick with Billboard
RobbRiddick replied to devldog131's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the ones who are angry are the ones who became fans post 2000. So all they've known is winning and therefore see winning as their right. Any fan who experienced Dick McPherson would never act like that toward a guy who won them 6 championships -

Does Anyone watch ESPN morning shows anymore?
RobbRiddick replied to sistersarah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All these shows seem to work on the following formula: - 2 or more alpha males argue and disagree about every subject, no matter what it is - 1 attractive woman with huge breasts asks the questions - Lots and lots and lots of hot takes and wild opinions -

RobbRiddick replied to sistersarah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like any ESPN shows. The constant shouting in the hope that it's what viewers want just doesn't do it for me. The worst is Stephen A Smith. Now there's a guy whose popularity I'll never understand. Clearly doesn't watch the games and just screams as loud as he can about nothing in particular. -

I've always had this vision (which admittedly comes from watching too many movies) that the Bills will finally win the SB and Josh Allen will take a game ball and hand it to one of the old timers in the crowd, as if to say "thanks for the long wait". Well, I hope your dad is at the SB and gets that honor -
Whoah, that title they came up with is longer than all Zach Wilson's passing yards so far

Second chance after second chance. Must be great being an NFL player. A regular Joe like me has one naked game of Twister with the sister in law and suddenly I'm the worst guy on the planet and my clothes all end up on the street

Bills and The AFC: Three Games In
RobbRiddick replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cleveland is a damn good team, very well balanced. Yes I'll say it, they scare me come playoff time. They scared me last season as I saw them as the one team in the AFC capable of beating the Chiefs. Broncos don't scare me too much as they've played bad teams but they are a very different outfit with Teddy in place of frat boy. The Raiders I am still not convinced by. Maybe they maintain this all season but I still won't be surprised if they fall apart as the season goes on. Chargers look like a class act this year and Herbert is a superstar in the making. He will take a lot of the Josh Allen hype this year I feel. I do think when the playoffs roll round they're the kind of team that will shoot themselves in the foot. KC are still the ones to beat for me. They've lost 2 but both have been very close (they won these games last year) and they have the experience so they know how to ride it out. Titans are always scary with Henry who is a monster. The games against the above two teams will be very interesting in a few weeks. Especially when you look at how they treated us last year. In a way I won't be devastated if we lose to KC as I have this thing where I believe we'll take them in the playoffs, but I hope we give the Titans a serious serving of revenge. I haven't forgotten Tannehill laughing his ass off during the last game against them and I've wanted to see us beat the crap out of him ever since -
Virgil, have you ever thought about adapting this into a weekly podcast or YouTube video. I think that would be good. I imagine it being read out in a slightly deadpan, monotone voice. Obviously you wouldn't be able to add the songs for copyright reasons (or maybe you are allowed to add a 30 second sample). Anyway, I think it'd be good, throw in a few pictures and video highlights of the game. I'd watch it!

Bill Belichick. Greatest fraud in NFL history.
RobbRiddick replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always felt like Brady was like having an extra coach for the offense (even defense to some extent), just with the respect and aura he brought to other players. Randy Moss was a dick but he didn;t act like that when he went to NE and had an amazing season. I'm convinced that was down to Brady taking him to one side and talking to him about 'the Patriot way'. I think just having Brady there made so many players, even journeymen, play way above their usual levels. With him gone that aura has gone and I don't believe Belichick has that same effect on people despite his success, mainly because he's a tool who the players themselves probably don't trust. Basically what I'm saying is in losing Brady the Pats lost more than just a great player, they lost a coach and a leader and the personification of the Patriot Way. -
Rookie Josh Allen vs Rookie Zach Wilson
RobbRiddick replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
The biggest difference I see in their rookie seasons is that Josh had those moments when he would literally will his team down the field. Take the game against the Vikings which I think was his 3rd game and second start. Yeah, the defense played well in that game but Allen put on some real magic during (the jump over Barr, the super man impression when he flew into the endzone). Right there and then you could see he had something, and that same Josh would show up at times throughout the year. I agree he was much better after the injury, that's when it seemed to slow down for him. And I have to say, for all the talk of the Jets offense, the Bills offense that year was just as bad. That line, Dawkins aside, was appalling, and his WRs were guys no longer in the league or just reserves. As someone else said, he made Foster look pretty great at times that year and now the guy can't stick to another team. -
Rookie Josh Allen vs Rookie Zach Wilson
RobbRiddick replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just watched a Youtube vid of every Wilson pass yesterday and honestly he wasn't as bad as his stats show. The Jets fans make me laugh how they're suggesting getting another 1st round QB already. He's not been great but he had so many passes that were on the WR's hands and were dropped. In that sense I see real similarities to Allen. That was something we all saw in his second season but of course the people who didn;t watch the games never mentioned it. He also has zero time to throw so often and the pocket just implodes around him. They need to make sure the kid isn;t shell shocked because Allen is a big guy who could take it but Wilson is so much smaller. -
