  1. Yes, I really like watching football. I don't really like watching all the nonsense on ESPN. First one of the color guys described an incomplete pass like this: "Carr goes up to the line, looks to see what the defense is set up to do, then if he wants he can alter the play by calling an audible at the line of scrimmage. That's what happened here, although the execution wasn't good." Then there are the cute little "spontaneous" one-liners that are well-rehearsed, like when Hollywood Brown catches a pass and he says "Hollywood comes to Las Vegas." Then there was the deep dive on two players' recovery from alcoholism. That's a nice story for the pregame or halftime and I'm happy for those guys, but they stopped talking about the game and missed a couple of plays in the process at which point I got fed up. And by the way in an entire 9/11 weekend of watching football - maybe I missed it - I didn't hear Pat Tillman's name mentioned once.
  2. I remember the one against Seattle. Denney made like he was running off the field before the snap and they ignored him. Denney is a Mormon so that became known as the Moorman to Mormon connection
  3. I got so fed up with the terrible play by play and useless color commentary that I had to turn it off. Missed an exciting ending. I forgot about Monday Night Manning on ESPN2. Did anyone watch it? How was it?
  4. Been breathing their own exhaust fumes too much. All the hype about the Bills being the team to beat. Maybe the best thing for them to get taken down a notch. If we're 3-1 by the KC game, we're in good shape. And if we're not, we're not going to make the playoffs so it doesn't matter anyway. Bills need to get the chip back on their shoulder
  5. It's only worthy of an honorable mention but the 2016 home opener is noteworthy: Pros - Thursday night game Bruce gets his number retired Bills scored 31 including a nice bombs to Goodwin (84 yards) and Salas (71 yards) Cons - Red pajama uniforms Tyrod was our QB Rex was our coach Fitzmagic was playing for the wrong team and looked like a Hall of Famer (374 passing yards) The next day, after scoring 31, Rex decided to "fix" the problem by firing the OC. That's when I knew for sure it was a poop-show. He really did fix the problem by quitting before week 17.
  6. And it said "Home of the Buffalo Bills" instead of "Rich Stadium" because Ralph was still having a naming fight with Erie County.
  7. Do people actually stay in Orchard Park? When I've made the 6,000 mile trek to a Bills game I've stayed downtown but it means getting stuck in the miserable stadium traffic. Next trip I might consider another alternative if there are good suggestions.
  8. Whatever you do, DON'T take Christian Wade. While it's true that an NFL career for him is a fantasy, that does not make him a good fantasy pick.
  9. It has live games if you live overseas. Reason enough to move to Europe IMHO
  10. Me too. Zay beating out Smoke was the last straw.
  11. My 9 year old grandson is a huge Knox fan because he remembers the play when Knox "pancaked 3 guys" after making a catch. He was 7 at the time and it's his first football memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KGX0BbI5Wk
  12. Being from Roch, my first introduction to BoW was in the chalet at Holiday Valley.
  13. You must not have seen the Jags helmets from a few years ago
  14. Did y'all know he went to Harvard?
  15. I live abroad so I get the games on NFL Game Pass. (Never mind that I was in the US on vacation for both games and saw them live - you need to know a few hacks to watch US sports over here)
  16. And a chance to see Christian Wade play his third-ever football game.
  17. Me too, but blue. The only Bills jersey I've ever had.
  18. For hockey, don't forget Porky Palmer.
  19. That's correct. Joe was a little short for a QB (around 6ft) and since every other team in the division had white helmets (Jets, Fish, Pats and Colts) it was felt that it would give him an advantage finding receivers downfield. Not sure this came from Joe, pretty sure it was the coaches or front office.
  20. I've been watching Game Pass here in Israel ever since they started it. It works perfectly and I get the Sunday 1PM games live in beautiful HD in prime time, 8PM here.
  21. Griese with the glasses! A few years later I saw those glasses on display in Canton.
  22. Or the 15 yard penalty for "maliciously spinning the football" (Eric Moulds)
  23. Once back in the awful days of the 1970s one of the Bills got a penalty for running off the field to the wrong sideline. And then there's the time Lee Smith got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty even though he wasn't dressed for the game.
  24. Hmmm.... Dan Pastorini, Danny White...
  25. I remember a playoff game against the Jets where David Humm took the first snap of the game, because the Bills ran back the opening kickoff for a TD and the first snap was the extra point. Sad end for Humm by the way, spent 30 years crippled by MS before dying at age 65.
