Bengals could have dropped 40 on the Bills that day LOS was lost from play 1 Would have taken lot of miscues by the Bengals and Josh playing at a very high level mistake free

Every QB we play against looks like Tom Brady these days.
sad truth were allowing passer rating of 91.4 Keep in context who we have faced No bueno

they overpaid Knox based on their philosophy of drafting/retaining their own. Josh had zero to do with it Have to show your draft picks were up to snuff by keeping mediocre players at top 10 starter money

Needs a oc who will run the football get teams out of these defenses with 7-8 guys dropping out

I mean ffs why do you even sub in the block unit on a mayday field goal. The chance of you blocking it is MAYBE 2-3%.
micromanaging McDermott at his finest I just listened to Greg Cossell and evidently the Jest offense hasnt scored a offensive td in 36 possessions?

Oh, yeah, there's plenty that I say that criticizes McDermott, but I'll admit that primarily I sound like a homer. That's because what I generally do when thinking about the Bills is ask myself why Beane or McDermott might have decided to do what they did. That's what I write about. So, I look for the logic in the decisions that they make, rather than criticize what they did because I think they should have done something else.
You can see that in what I wrote about the Cook benching. I don't know whether it was the correct move or not, but I wrote that I could see why it made sense, why McDermott probably did it.
And I don't bother to dwell on the negative. In the past couple of days, if you go back and look at my posts, you will see that I say I agree with the idea that McDermott's teams have a lot of unsatisfactory game-ending events. 13 seconds, the penalty against Denver, Hail Murray. There are a lot of them, and they tell me the team isn't properly prepared to win in those circumstances. But my view about those things also is that everyone makes mistakes, and the measure of how good people are in their jobs is how they learn and respond from mistakes. I continue to have confidence that McDermott will be a better HC five years from now than he is today. I get that people disagree with that, some people who just are frustrated and what a change for change's sake, and some people who have some good reasons to believe that he'll always lose big games.
Shaw we cant wait 5 more years McDermott to figure it out The window is now with a qb in place

McB purposely neglected the OL and a better supplemental wr (wr2) for years. And this was done in order for him to focus on his defense. They literally had every opportunity to build a monster offense around Josh from 2018 on. Josh simply had to make hero plays because he didn't have the offensive structure to go in any other direction. McD hires Dorsey (another mistake) and Ken proceeds to ask Josh to do 3 things at once. No one should be surprised by this or Josh's loss of confidence. McDermott better quickly decide whether he wants to be flexible with Brady or his time with this team will come to an end. And to finalize, none of this has anything to do with the incessant blunders that Sean commits during games. That's a whole different argument for another day. This is about leadership and letting your offensive people like Daboll do their job.
That is where the issue began They traded for Diggs in 2020 and not much else since then favoring investing heavily on D line. Kincaid first real weapon they added since 2020. Offense has no explosive guys around Josh then double down with a first time OC Add the heavy possibility of a head coach that meddles with the offense as well trying to hide his defenses liabilities as well as stupid philosophy This defense should be attack and try and get off the field quickly not retreat and wait for a mistake

why do I feel like they will land some stud in next years draft and be set for 2024

And most of us (myself included) will stop and watch this car wreck on Sunday. We know we should keep driving and not look, but we will just to see how bad the wreck is
more ammo for next weeks emo fest on the boards or a victory and brief respite

that defense/special teams scored a ton of points that season Ended feebly against the Steelers backups, sigh

why would Allen look cheerful? Team is losing games and he is the first place you go for an explanation Think they guy just wants to go our and play and he's being over analyzed and scrutinized. McDermott is just building himself a parachute for the offseason to explain away the teams collapse

This has been going on since after the Broncos game. McDermott has been in self-preservation mode. He praised the defensive players for playing their asses off, giving them (and his own play calling) no fault for the loss. He then went on to criticize the offense heavily and fired his OC the next day. When asked about the end of game FG debacle he commented that they had practiced that situation throughout the week but "failed to execute." His post game presser was completely unhinged. He blamed one player after another, never pointing the finger at himself. I can't imagine that landed well in the locker room.
Yeah he's done a nice job of dividing the team by separating offense and defense and now taking shots at arguably the person most responsible for his long term success in Josh Allen

at times I start to wonder if going all in to win or saving face is more important for McDermott

They need to run and show the potential of running the ball on most downs Josh is also going to be better off in pulling the ball down and takng what he can get when they all drop out Do we do it or keep being stubborn and trying to fit the football in Who knows?
-
he is acceptable just not a difference maker If Beane resigns him I will; be extremely pissed
-
is he maximizing what he has to work with? If you feel the answer is yes than the onus is on Beane to get more talent in I think we have enough talent but he needs to be shown the door
-
How about use Harty like Beasley underneath on short routes. Run some screens w the rbs. Do more one step quick passes like in the TB game. Use more motion Run more from the I w Josh under center Run the middle rb screen. Kincaid down the seam. End arounds, jet shuffle pass
Maybe not call that sideline mesh concept ever again and spend half a practice on ball security Guys still not putting the ball into the sideline hand and covering it up w both hands in traffic
-
Gabe has limitations and the Bills keep trying to make him something he is not His hands are still questionable and he is not good route runner Also he doesnt play as "big" as he is Seems he and Josh have been not on the same page often but I blame that on a offense that has far too many decisions being made by both players on the same route Enough of the endless option routes Keep it simple

-
ask yourself how many times this year you have seen a completion and there are several Bills receivers near each other? I understand they want routes he can process quickly but stacking them virtually a few yards apart seems like asking for defenders to drop underneath and also makes tipped ints far more likely

the offense is predicated by execution vs a good scheme that puts the players in advantageous positions to win At least the way Dorsey was calling it Maybe its salvageable with a different play caller . I hope we dont see shotgun on third and short Little bit of luck would be a nice change Feel like a lot of the turnovers were flukey and feels like any fumble always seems to be recovered by the defense Fingers crossed Sunday's game is watchable
-
He does need to cut them down but a few were throwaways/arm punts batted balls and bad luck (Gabe Davis stone hands etc) Think they seem much worse because a few were really dumb forced throws The really egregious plays were the Jets ints , the Pats opening drive int and the broncos sideline pick Those were arm arrogance/bad decisions He needs to be better, maybe benefit from a bid of good luck Think it all starts with using the run game more and maybe him figuring out how to move the ball without needing to fit difficult throws more than a handful of times per game
Is a future move to Safety possible for Tre White??
