that sucked He had plenty of space to complete that ball

Lets see if we answer or turtle up

He's not productive anymore. Seems like when he has had opportunities to make a big play he just hasn't done it. Big slow receiver who isn't winning the 50/50 balls and has suspect hands. I'm sure lots of team will be lining up with the bank vault open. Either drop some weight to get some speed or play like you are 6'5 no 5'5

In response to you and transplant and others: I'm a big believer that the passer rating tells us a lot about how good a QB is. The best QBs all have good passer ratings, and some not so good QBs may have a good passer rating now and then but don't stay up in the top 10-15. Allen's passer rating is nowhere in the range it needs to be by those standards, so I thought a lot about whether to say the things I did about him before i started writing. I just kept going back to the games, thinking about the plays and asking myself about the bad plays he made (I had trouble finding many), and if he wasn't making bad plays, why was he 8 for 19?
Bottom line for me:
1. He's showing some great, great stuff. Throwing ability, poise and awareness, decision making, leadership.
2. He ISN'T showing rookie mistakes. Not taking dumb sacks, snot making dumb throws, not getting confused at the line of scrimmage.
3. His shortcomings are, as I said talking with someone here, that he isn't a veteran yet. The details, the little things, the things that veterans see and do that create three or four completions a game that rookies don't get, or that result in 20 yard gains instead of seven, he isn't seeing and doing that yet. It would be a miracle if he were. But I'm confident that will come, because he's clearly a competitor and a guy who wants to do better. And his Wonderlic score says that he has the kind of brain that will allow him to do it.
I just go with my eyes. One can rationalize anything Kid has the it factor. He's throwing downfield and the entire route tree is open Once he works on the touch passes and pre snap reads he is going to be a nightmare. You can call a deep out from the opposite hash and he can make the play The defense is going to have to respect basically the entire field Add to that the mobility and physicality. He's smart and tough Wait till we get receivers who can run after the catch and the O line gets shored up Imagine if we could run like 2016/2017 and how open those deep strikes off play action would be. I know there will be bumps and the haters will crawl back out but he has shown me enough. You can't teach some of these throws he makes. Plus most importantly I don't see the dumb rookie mistakes being repeated. Some qbs can never escape the deer in the headlights mistakes He doesn't seem to have that bad habit. I'm super pumped to see how teams deal with their qb unable to throw in the frozen cold and this kid flinging the rock His hands swallow the football

Good write up, mirrors what I watched Lets face it , the media will continue to push their Josh Allens sucks agenda. I noticed every write up and tv clip mentioned his stats minus the long bomb. I love it, just give more fuel to push this kid to be great. The rest of the NFL needs a 6'4 240 lb freak with a canon arm and wheels to be pissed off and motivated

they set themselves up for this be re upping Bortles Every week they go with a limited qb who severely limits what they can and cannot call on offense. Guess they though behind their defense and a strong running game they could win (sound familiar?)

He is done as a difference maker. McCoy relies on speed/quickness and he has lost a step if not more. He might be able to stay around a few years if he accepts a role as a third down specialist or change of pace in a offense that throws to the backs a lot. Dude has a lot of mileage and a relatively small body to absorb all those hits

Full disclosure I wanted Allen over every other QB (Rosen second) and posted such before the draft.
I thought Allen played well but not great today.
Positives: Stood tall in the pocket and kept his eyes downfield. Did not put the ball in harms way. Threw the ball away when that was the right play. Made several athletic plays. Managed the huddle and clock well. Energy and enthusiasm was great again. The TD throw was great but the two first downs called back were just as good. Solid professional throws. Same goes for the simple out pattern for a first down on third down deep in Bills territory. Excellent read and throw. That is a pick-six with Peterman at QB, maybe Barkely too.
Negatives: For as many times as he stood tall in the pocket, he also looked jittery too. The Jags front is good and the Bills OL is awful so it is to be a bit expected. First game back too. Hope to see more calm feet over the next few games. Timing on sideline throws was off. I don't know if that is WR or QB. Allen looked like he was putting the ball at the down marker and the WR was running a step or two beyond the marker. Needs to slide or run out of bounds more. I wonder if there were some dump offs he missed on some plays where he ran or threw the ball away. I didn't see a single check down all day. It was mostly 1 or 2 reads and then panic/run.
I still think Allen is the best of the 2018 class especially given the OL and WR he has. They should have let him go play action on first and goal late in the game. Let the kid throw for a TD. The running is fine but he needs to keep developing as a passer. He has all the tools and just needs more game experience.
Agreed , McDermott still doesn't have a grasp to what he is doing at QB. He should be putting Josh in line to get as many meaningful reps as possible. The red zone at the end of the game was ridiculous. First off he's just back from a injury and you go using him like Tim Tebow at the goal line Just hand it to Ivory if you are to chicken ***** to let him throw in the red zone

Guys a physical freak. 6'4 240lbers arent supposed to run that fast and he has a little wiggle to go with it. The arm is ridiculous but you can see it on many throws.. Exciting stuff

He showed some more growth along with the athleticism and guts we've have already seen. Many dumb penalties and some drops may have hurt the stat line but he got the job done. There were some very nice throws and a some throw aways and a few bad balls where he rushed his throw and didnt set his feet I thought he was expecting the receiver to settle down in the hole and to work their way back towards the ball on a few passes. He didnt turn it over and he didnt hold the ball and take sacks. There is good stuff there to work with and I hope we see Daboll continue to expand what they allow him to do.

Lot of it seemed dictated by play calling Shots off play action on first down and lots of third and longs
-
Thompson just got here They didnt seem to be on the same page on a few throws No clue what happened with Zay Jones Hes MIA but then again they didnt throw that many passes

The game will not relay his stats. He was not run first yet ran for 100 yards. One series in the 4th quarter he threw an inaccurate ball that resulted in a 3 and out. Against the most athletic defense in the NFL he made enough plays to win the game. You come away from this game thinking Allen is holding the team back your watching a differant game.
If anything is holding him back its the long periods where the Bills go ultra conservative I wish McDermott would trust let him rip it more. He is not going to learn by playing not to lose.. He had a great game today , something to build off of for next week
-
Though he had a very good game No turnovers no sacks. Kind of got undone by penalties and a few drops/miscommunications He'll run less once he gets more on the same page with his receivers.
-
He's improving little by little. The athleticism is incredible. His receivers need to get better. The long td throw while getting crushed was increible he had some nice throws called back
-
Steelers don't "own" the man He can do what he feels is best for him . Steelers will get a compensatory pick and both sides can move on.
-
During Sunday's game he looked like a guy headed to the gallows
-
Top 5 sounds about right If they managed anything on offense the unit could be #1.
-
Maybe they are trying to get younger guys snaps and a look Pryor is 29.
-
Allen needs to play and they need to open the offense and let him chuck the rock. Kudos to Barkley but he's a backup qb who came in and surprised the Jets. Ho[efully Allen after sitting sees the field better and trusts what he is seeing and lets it rip
-
cut him and play young guys who want to be in the league Right now he cant even be depended on to be a jump ball specialist

add Lions, Cowboys , Jaguars, Broncos all sinking rapidly My best guess is we pick somewhere between 4-8

Looked good. Bills had a nice draft this year. Think they get a upgrade at center the O line will look a to better for next season
-
Bills may have found their backup qb for the rest of the year and beyond. Hope they cut Peterman and Benjamin.
