This is, of course, a subject of massive debate. However, it can easily be argued that he received an unjustified sentence for the robbery crimes to make up for the unjustified acquittal on his murder charge. OJ received a sentence of 33 years for the robbery case. That sentence is more than many receive for murder or attempted murder. It seems like the universe (or the judge) tried to correct the clearly incorrect acquittal of murder by imposing an exceptionally harsh sentence for the robbery.
