  1. I’m all for mandatory sentencing. Murder = X years, manslaughter= X years. The amount of times I shake my head at the legal system is disgusting. You have legit murderers who can get a more lenient sentence than some assault cases.
  2. Many, many years. In the Buffalo area, it takes about 2 years to be a regular high school official, 4-5 years to be a varsity high school official. After being a varsity level official you can apply to D3. After a few years cutting your teeth at D3 you can apply for a D1 position. But you need to have a lot of good tape and references to be considered at that level. It’s hard to make a D1 conference, it’s basically impossible to make the NFL. You have a better chance of winning the lottery.
  3. I officiated for 7-ish years in the Buffalo area. Also did D3 college for a year. I enjoyed the officiating aspect. I plan to go back someday. It’s either an old man’s game or a young man’s game. I used to wonder why the average age of officials is so high. After having a family, you realize it really isn’t compatible. It’s a huge time commitment. You either have to do it while your kids are older, or while you don’t have kids. As others have said, if you can’t put up with abuse, this isn’t for you. I was former military and have thick skin to verbal abuse, so it was no problem for me. The worst abuse is at the little league level, as you go higher, the fans get farther away and the coaches actually get paid, so they don’t want to be ejected. The pay is not good, oftentimes can be comparable to minimum wage after factoring in gas. You get $60-$90 for a high school game. You arrive 1.5 hours early to have a pregame and the game lasts 2-2.5 hours. So you’re talking about $15 an hour not even including the gas cost. As someone else said, we didn’t get mileage. You get paid the same wether you are commuting 5 minutes or 45 minutes. I’ll end by rant by answering your initial question. Yes, Buffalo has a shortage like the rest of the country. But it is not as bad as many other places have it.
  4. I actually feel like this will increase his ADP. His ADP was pretty suppressed to this point. I feel that was with fantasy players pricing in a 6 game suspension. 3 games feels pretty light and makes me regret not grabbing him in multiple best ball leagues.
  5. ABC used to broadcast the preseason games, but they switched to CBS. I thought the switch went into effect last pre-season.
  6. Out of town and it looks like the only time I can catch this is 3am on NFL network Sunday morning. Thought they would have the Bills on live
  7. Anyone know when/if inside training camp live on nfl network will be at Bills camp? Or have I already missed it?
  8. Absolutely. You don’t pay a running back in todays NFL, you just don’t. Go draft one and get 80%+ of the production at 1/12th the cost.
  9. I think they are more pointing out how absolutely hypocritical this slime ball attorney is. When it was the lawsuit where he was the plaintiff, he tried to litigate the case in the media any chance he could.
  10. My buddy dug into him a little bit. Just Google level searching. But he’s a real slime ball. Ambulance chaser kind of attorney. That was the first red flag for me when the lawsuit was initially filed. If the woman’s claims were credible, you don’t end up with “slipping Jimmy” as your attorney. If she had a solid case one of the big firms would have been salivating to get their hands on it.
  11. Astro should be eligible for a media pass. He should never be shut out of TC!
  12. Nothing worse than an injury at camp or preseason. I don’t wish that on anyone or any team.
  13. Liked him in his draft year. I’ll take him for a free look anyway.
  14. Pretty much the same base money, just added a minuscule amount (relatively to most in the NFL) of incentives.
  15. That means you’ll be at the theater for 6 hours 😳
  16. I’d be livid if the Bills gave that type of player that amount of money. Therefore, I approve of the Cowboys doing it.
  17. I liked him in his draft year. Can’t complain about getting a free look.
  18. And they think splitting the workload between Cook and Barkley will justify paying Barkley the salary he will command?
  19. Not for that contract. Could have just signed him and dumped Oliver for a late pick if we wanted to go that route.
  20. Lol have fun with Malik Willis, Will Levis or the all-star Tannehill. He went to one of the worst (maybe the worst?) passing attacks in all of football.
