  1. In modern NFL history it is 96 points I believe. In 1995. Edit: Thanks to above post it looks like I was way off ?
  2. Phew ? I was wondering when we would hear from the referee again... said no one, ever
  3. “There is no penalty for illegal contact on the play, it was on the play”.... ? what?
  4. Me neither. I didn’t think you were allowed to challenge officials judgement calls.
  5. Away Bortles is almost always poor Bortles. His road/home splits are in stark contrast of one another. Home Bortles pops in a good game every now and then. Away Bortles rarely does. This year he is 63 percent with 7TDs and 2 INTS at home. Away he is 58 percent with 5 TDS sand 6 INTS. Last season he had a 69 passer rating while away and a 98 at home.
  6. Rams are actually playing this one at home. Game was moved from Mexico to LA
  7. I’m not sure I want Allen learning anything from Derek Anderson. He has not exactly had a successful NFL career. From his first Bills start I would only want Allen to do the exact opposite of Anderson.
  8. That throw from Rodgers was ridiculous. All his receiver had to do is hold his hands out, it was dropped in perfectly for the TD.
  9. Yikes, two offensive players in the top 20 and one is a QB. Too bad offense is the biggest need of this team.
  10. To me, comeback player of the year should be more a player who did not perform at a super high level prior to an injury and is now doing so (Peterson). If it is going to be a superstar player, it should be one who battled multiple years of injuries (Luck). By my own personal bias, I would give it to Luck or Peterson.
  11. It may change a bit, but not entirely. I would imagine this mindset is ingrained in you from playing this sport for free for 16+ years. Old habits die hard and that is tough to brush off to the side. They all say the right things, and James Connor has softened the blow. But if the Steelers were not doing well rushing the ball this year you can bet that team would hate him. They wouldn’t say it publicly, but they would despise Le’Veon Bell.
  12. People talk like this, but it isn’t really correct IMO. If you have ever played on a sports team or been involved in a team activity, you know it is nothing like going to the office 9-5. You go to battle with these guys. At least that is the attitude the true winners in sports tend to have. When you treat it like a job is when you fail to produce and do not meet your potential. Sports teams are nothing like a 9-5 job.
  13. Could be a super bowl preview. I’m not sure the Rams can get through the Saints (Hell of an NFC championship shaping up). I don’t think the Patriots will be able to tame the Chiefs for the AFC though.
  14. Night and day from Carpenter. It is nice not sweating every field goal attempt.
  15. The thing is, it wasn’t even remotely funny. Taking a page from his article, Peterman probably could go work for Goldman and become far more successful than that writer ever will be.
  16. No way he obtains close to that after how this year shaped up. First, he proves that he is a me first player and will never put the team above all. Second, James Connor’s performances hurt Bell’s value. Connor proved that RB’s can be found in the draft and recycled. He also showed that the the Steeler’s OL was a big reason for Bell’s rushing totals. All it takes is one foolishness GM to overpay, but I think anyone with half a brain can see Bell isn’t worth anywhere near his ask.
  17. Gronks body has absolutely failed him. To be in his condition at 29 is a shame. I thought he was going to retire last off season. Given how the season as gone, I would say the odds are decent he retires this off season.
  18. This is what I was thinking. It is stupid, but it seems that he has not “earned it”. Other receivers cry for a flag and get one. Zay isn’t there yet.
  19. I think it was a completely fine move. Some people seem to forget that AJ was not good in the preseason. He likely would have played no better than Derek Anderson had he started. Which is probably the same train of thought Beane and McDermott had. If you can get any asset for a completely replaceable player, you do it.
  20. What we want Allen to retain from Peterman or Anderson from the past four weeks is precisely nothing.
  21. If this will help him come along faster, I will be all for it. I’m just not sure the best way to go right now isn’t letting him sit for a little while. He has not been watching and learning the past 4 weeks, we want him to learn absolutely nothing from Peterman or Anderson. With Barkley we may have an average to slightly below average QB to learn from. Instead of the pure trash that is Peterman or Anderson.
