Oh I think it will be forever brought up as a punch line. I agree it’ll be a non legal story, Kraft will get a fine from the police and from the NFL. But I know I’ll never see Robert Kraft on TV again without laughing while thinking of this story. I would imagine it’s the same for many football fans.

But, what if that body builder physique comes WITH the quickness to burn? Obviously the combine will tell, but I believe Metcalf is projected to run in the 4.4’s? It’s just too bad he already has the injury history, would have loved to see his stats from a healthy college campaign this season. I usually prefer to stay away from college players who tend to be injured, it rarely seems to improve at the NFL level.

Should be interesting to see Memphis next week with Mettengerger at QB. Been a different offense since he came in. The defense has been solid throughout.

I’m surprised it took this long. That’s what most people don’t realize about this league I feel. The level of competition is often crapped on. But 80% of these guys have had a cup of coffee in the NFL. Take even the best college program, I doubt it’s anywhere close to 80%. IMO The level of competition in this league is not as horrendous as many believe. This is a great way for guys to get a second look from the league.

Speaking of. Gilbert is definitely going to get a look after the season he has had so far.

I’ve enjoyed each week. Looking forward to the NFL Network games tonight. I don’t care if it’s “minor league”, it’s nice having weekend football in February.

I like Kneal Harry the best of the WR group. But would not be angry with Metcalf as the big. Without being injured this season I feel Metcalf would have put up big numbers. You rarely get a receiver with his size and his speed. 6’4 225 is usually a big bodied receiver. Metcalf can do that, and he can also blow past you with 4.4 speed. Rare physical freak combination.

Current NFL CBA ends after 2020. AAF in the mix?
PetermansRedemption replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was tough to follow. From the title I thought you meant that the NFL would try to work some AAF clause into the next CBA. The AAF is not trying, and will never try to, compete with the NFL. When they try, the league will have zero chance of success. They know it has to be a partnership and cooperation with the NFL. The first point that dispels your theory is the time frame. The AAF doesn’t even run the same time as the NFL, and they will not adjust it just for one possible lockout season. -
Inside Info (somewhat) - Kyler Murray

I’ll eat crow if he ends up being anything. I just don’t see it. He would set the bar for short QB’s if he can put it together. But he is 5’10(maybe) and 190lbs. Being hit by lineman that are 6’5 300+. Almost double his weight. We will see. -

Stay far, far away. Damaged goods in the draft are no where near worth a 1st rounder. -
Boy did Atlanta fall apart in that one.
-
This is a pretty good game too. Close between San Diego and Atlanta.
-
Should have just had another INT stop if the two Atlanta defenders didn’t level each other.
-
Phillip Nelson, yikes.

TJ Hockenson is quickly becoming my primary draft crush. I prefer a trade down and getting him that way. But I wouldn’t even mind a slight reach and grabbing him at 9.

The AAF isn’t competing against the NFL. Directly from Ebersol’s mouth. He realized leagues fail when competing against the NFL. And yes, 3 and 4 star recruits are who they need to market to. Start picking up a few of them a year. Like I’ve said twice already. The choice isn’t as obvious as you seem to believe. Have you read USFL, football for a buck? It’s a good lesson. One large lesson is that money talks. Your choice is go to college, play for free for 3 years and get drafted. While doing some school work in the process. Or go play football for 3 years for 85k a year and get drafted.

I completely disagree. 4 practice squad players per team would definitely increase interest. There are plenty of die hard Bills fans (myself included) who would watch for one single player. You aren’t converting many casual fans but you never had much of a chance to do that anyways. Of course you aren’t recruiting the top 50 HS players in the country. Your sweet spot are the top of the next echelon. If you have a scholarship offer from, say, a UB or 30-60th ranked school. You can go take that scholarship, pretend to work on a college degree, and play football for free. Or you can go, not worry about any semblance of school work, and make 85k a year. Oh, and your talents are still showcased for the NFL draft. Perhaps even more because your playing in a league where 80% of players have had an NFL contract at some point.

With expectations higher, is anyone else calm?

What I am most excited about this year? Not having the worry about a QB battle or drafting a QB or signing a QB. I don’t remember the last time I went into a season feeling that good. Nice to be able to do anything in the draft and not have to fight for one of the QB’s. Or hope to sign a journeyman free agent QB ala Keenum. Great position to be in picking top 10 in the draft with QB not a worry. -
If that’s the “deep” free agent market I would rather draft our TE

Are we sure that’s it? Because I sure feel I could be fired at my job if I perform political activism at it. I was thinking it was more along the lines that collusion between two businesses is illegal, irrespective of the part being negwtively impacted. In this case two (or more) independent businesses (the nfl franchises) colluded with each other to negatively impact a party (Kapernick). From my brief research on the subject over the past twenty minutes this is what I’ve gathered. However, like I said, I’m completely unsure.
