  1. So.... cutting 5 bare bones players to equal 6 million. But then you would need to sign 5 guys still to fill out the roster, and you probably can’t for that 6 million ?
  2. Great ball by Wolford
  3. It’s great in theory, but it will stay that way if they can’t execute. I tried using the app all night last night and today, it didn’t work at all. I can follow along with the game, but all the cool interactive stuff they had on their commercial didn’t work at all. You are supposed to be able to guess what play will be ran next and gain experience points for it to “level up”. That has not worked for me yet.
  4. Wasn’t able to watch the game on now. Watched last nights Commanders game and am looking forward to the 8PM game on NFLN tonight. Anyone know who is calling the Stallions Hotshots game tonight on NFLN? I couldn’t find it.
  5. Off to bed for me. Will be tuning in tomorrow. Good start to the league.
  6. College refs. Likely at the highest level of colleges.
  7. Yardage is good. 158 to 177. Surprised we haven’t had a TD yet. Should get some in the second half.
  8. Goes as 4th and 12 from your own 28 yard line
  9. Me too. I was expecting XFL inaugarual disaster. It has not been close to that. Impressive inaugural weekend. If they keep this up all season I can see it having a chance at lasting. Looks like they even got a decent crowd. Knowing San Antonio (lived there for a few years) it is the perfect market for this. San Antonio is something like the 5th largest city in the country, and it has ONE professional sports team from the big 5 (NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS, NHL). They are desperate and deserving of another sport to cheer on. The evidence lies in the San Antonio Rampage. Always a good crowd in an area, the south, that isn’t historically supporting of NHL or AHL franchises.
  10. I like it a lot. The kickoff is just a fluff play now. As I said earlier, 5 out of 970 kickoffs went for a TD.
  11. 47 yard field goal from a non NFL kicker. Impressive.
  12. Before tonight, I would have disagreed. After tonight, I agree. I would have bet the AAF was the league that would fail if I had to choose just one. Now I would bet on the XFL. If the AAF can keep this up all season, they have a chance.
  13. I am loving the amount of flags (or lack thereof) in this league so far.
  14. Liking the football so far. Not bad at all. Downloaded the APP and it isn’t working though ?. Hopefully they can fix it for week 2, I’ll be watching.
  15. That’s a good point. Although Tebow wasn’t that good, Kap might not want to due to his lawsuit? But Manziel, I’m surprised he didn’t get the call.
  16. I also initially thought the yardage was a bit too short. However, I would like to see the stats that went into that decision. I am sure they looked at how likely it was to get X yards on any one play, and arrived at a percentage they liked. If I had to guess, the conversion percentage for a 4th and 12 would be around 20%. I am completely fine with that being the “onside kick” conversion percentage.
  17. There were 5 TD’s total in the NFL this year on kick returns. That is a percent of .00515. Out of 970 kickoffs. Touchbacks amount to 60% of kickoffs. Flags seemingly amount for the other 39% percent. NFL’s rules have killed the kickoff, it is time to eliminate it all together. When you are getting a touchback or flag on the vast majority of the play, it is pointless. All they do is slow down the game.
  18. I think two of those three are rules the NFL is long overdue to adopt. Kickoffs are pointless no, onside kicks even more pointless. No extra points is a great rule, the extra point is boring. The can’t blitz is a thing I’m not a fan of. However, if you read the article it said they did that because in the amount of practice time they had, they couldn’t get the offensive line up to speed. I would imagine this rule will not stick.
  19. I desperately hope this forces the NFL to adapt some of the AAF changes. Much like the NFL adopted some of the XFL concepts. The three I would love the see in the NFL. 1) The official in the booth. This has to happen, put a referee overhead who can make calls in real time. 2) No extra points. The extra point is old and boring, and a lot of games this season went to OT. Make every team go for two points. 3) Eliminating the onside kick. The NFL has to come up with an onside kick alternative. Their new safety rules absolutely eliminated it from the game this year. I think the success rate hovered around 5% this year, down from 15% before the rule changes.
  20. Bill Bellichick is the best coach in NFL history, by a mile. I have absolutely no problem with McVay telling Bellichick how much he admires him, I would do the same in his position. Take your job, and take the highest person possible in that job. Then suppose you are meeting that person. You would also have words of admiration.
  21. Metcalf or Harry for me. And if it is the Bills I would be thrilled with either one.
  22. I somewhat understand what your trying to say now. That’s a good point. Well said.
  23. This portion of the re-draft, is absolute nonsense. I’m rarely for going RB in the first round, but Barkley doesn’t fall out of the top 10 in any stretch of the imagination.
  24. It would easily still be covered just as much. How many people care about some still photo a reporter got on the sideline? People watch the game on TV. I don’t care if some obscure news station got a snippet of an interview and I would imagine most people are the same.
  25. Well, the network can have their two designated reporters. It’s not like the media has a right to go wherever they want. This is the NFL’s property, the media will go where they are told or they won’t be invited on said property.
