I don’t see much of a chance that Buffalo doesn’t at least make an offer for Funchess. Is a free agent at a position of need and has the Carolina connection. Also seems like a team first guy based on the interviews I’ve listened to. Looks like he would check enough boxes for Beane to put an offer in. I admittingly haven’t watched much of his tape. Does he really play that slow? He ran a 4.47 40 at the combine just 4 years ago.

Anyone else feel like this actually turned into a pretty good WR class? I would be happy with any of those top 10 guys.

Luckily, we have Beane and McDermott and company to make the decisions for us fans. Like a sheep, I’ll trust whatever they decide.

Also, it is looking like an elite DL or edge prospect will be pushed to 9. If they take Metcalf over one of them I will be extremely disappointed.

Didn’t save the entire mock, but just didn’t Fanspeaks Simulator and had Nick Bosa fall to me at 9 ? This one has me beat. QUINNEN Williams falling to 18 is even more unrealistic than Nick Bosa falling to 9.

I was actually thinking the opposite. Knowing this regime so far, they like players with incredible physical tools. Metcalf certainly fits their MO up to this point.

I came away from the combine super unimpressed with Irv Smith. I would not want to trade up in any capacity to get him.

This is going to be the reason. They are probably doing the free agent showcase games this week.

If these guys aren’t going to honor a multi-year deal, why sign it? Why doesn’t AB just go one year contract to one year contract?

NFL Network was doing their “rookie showcase” last week. Of course we got Barkley, Darnold, Mayfield, and Jackson. No Allen. They should have shown his 5 TD game against Miami or the Vikings hurdling game. Very disappointed they didn’t air one.

If the Patriots can’t find a way to get this guy involved, my interest ends. Can’t think of too many examples where the Pats couldn’t help a guy produce and then he went on to produce later.

My thoughts as well. Doesn’t add anything that isn’t a dime a dozen. One trick pony TE’s do not excite me in the least. As long as he’s coming in to battle for the 3 spot I’m fine with it. He isn’t a solution as a top 2 TE.

I want absolutely nothing to do with Antonio Brown, at any cost.

This kind of stuff makes me love the NFL even more. What an exciting offseason. The draft got 100x more exciting thanks to Arizona and Kyler Murray speculation.

At this point, I can’t really find a pick the Bills could make at 9 that I wouldn’t like. DE falls due to QB’s going in the top 10? Awesome. Drafting Hockenson, ok sign me up. Metcalf? Sure he has ridiculous upside even if he has some red flags. OL? Absolutely, Bills would probably have pick of the litter at 9. Take a 2nd CB? Sure, your getting a great one. Take a LB and have 3 amazing young linebackers? I could get behind that. I think the only position I would hate at 9 would be safety or RB ?

I thought that little “coaching” by Smith was incredibly stupid as well.

I like this idea a lot. Oakland gives up their two late firsts to the Bills for number 9, Oakland then flips number 9 to Arizona for Rosen. Pretty high value for Rosen, but if Mayock still loves him I could see it happening. Do the Jags have the cap space to be all in for Foles? I imagine it takes a contract in the 25 million range to land him. Spotrac has Jacksonville as -8.4 million with top 51 and projected draft picks. Foles would take that number to around -34 million. Cutting Bortles saves 5. That still leaves -29 million. Unless spotrac is incorrect, I don’t see how they could make that up without completely gutting the team.

Need him to be there at 9 to be all in on him. As this franchise has seen before, you simply do not trade up for a WR. Good WR class so missing on Metcalf isn’t the end of the world. He also had some troubling shuttle numbers. Straight line speed can only help a WR so much. I would certainly consider taking him at 9 for the upside, but it’s far from a slam dunk decision.

I was just saying. This would make realistic QB spots for Arizona at 1, Oakland at 4, Giants at 6, Jags at 7, Broncos at 10, Miami at 13 and Washington at 15 ?

This is why I wish he didn’t get injured last season. Definitely an enigma at this point. You can’t go by combine numbers alone. We can’t go by 2018-19 college production either. Like you pointed out, his 2017 was nothing special. 12 games 39 receptions. Take away the first game against South Alabama (who?) and he goes down to 11 games and 31 receptions for the season. Had multiple one reception games as well. More to consider though, as a sophomore Julio Jones 13 games, 43 receptions, 4 TDS. Julio broke out his Junior year. DK Metcalf didn’t even get to play his sophomore year, nevertheless his junior year. Metcalf actually outproduced Julio’s sophomore year, and he did it as a freshman.

At this point, with how Metcalf tested out, I have him pencilled into the top 8. That would easily leave Oliver for the Bills at 9 if they want him. I hope they do, I think he can be a difference maker at the NFL level.

I am all aboard the Metcalf train, have been for a while now. That being said, I think I would rather him go to the Jets than a guy like Josh Allen. I would rather game plan to shut down a WR than have our QB get plastered by a formidable pass rush. I feel its easier to double team a Metcalf than it is to keep a RB in the backfield to block Josh Allen from getting to Josh Allen.

I would cry tears of joy if Josh Allen somehow slid down the draft board because people are drafting QB’s and DK Metcalf.

I find it hilarious that Gruden likely takes a pass rusher after trading away the best one in the league. Or a wide receiver, after trading away a darn good one.
