Listened to this guy on Sirius XM today. If I was a Giants fan I would be furious. Of course he could be lying, but he has hitched his wagon right to Eli in any interview he has done. He said it’s a “crock” that Eli is overpaid and washed up. Normally I would think he’s just smokescreening. But he talked about taking Saquon last year and actually did it. The precedent seems to be he speaks his mind. Time will tell, but if I’m the owner of the Giants and Gettleman passed on a QB at 6 and 17 I fire him before he even reaches the second round of the draft.

I still cannot believe this guy won a playoff game against the Bills.

Hoping he plays on Sunday night. I’m not sure he can get up to speed that quick for Memphis though.

Interesting point in that article is the Ravens completely bid against themselves for Earl Thomas. He was set to sign a 1 year deal and the Ravens come in and give him 4/55.

Does anyone else think comp picks are incredibly stupid? Does any other league do this? If the player is a RFA then fine, he gets tendered and the new team pays the draft pick. But making draft picks out of thin air has always been nonsensical to me. Why should a team be rewarded because they couldn’t or wouldn’t pony up the money to keep their own.

In this draft it seems value and need Will coincidence when it comes to the Bills. Value at 9 will be at DE or DT and that just so happens to be a big position of need. I don’t think Murray would be BPA unless he fell to the 3rd round. He should have the same grade as Russel Wilson did coming out. The problem is people see what Wilson did and what Baker did and recent bias. They then think that is the norm rather than the outlier.

I feel the Dee Ford trade laid out this trade market pretty well. I wouldn’t give up more than a 2nd rounder for Clowney. The problem is, it isn’t just a 2nd for Clowney. The true cost is the 2nd and the opportunity cost of the lost cap dollars. In Clowney’s case you are probably looking at 18-20 million per year. That’s a whole lot of cap.

I like it. Those are pretty good stats for a special teams player. Everyone knows the Bills special teams needs all the help it can get from last season.
