This is actually crazy enough to work. The ball can be spotted by putting a microchip in the ball. Then the game can be officiated via video. Just need one or two officials on the field to spot the ball.

The taunting call is horrendous. But putting that aside, what was with the hip check that Corrente threw? I was waiting for THAT explanation in the NFL explanation video, but of course it cuts off prior to that. Regardless of wether the taunting call was technically correct or not, the optics of throwing a hip check and then tossing the flag like your droppin’ the mic is not good. If the player does that in reverse, he’s ejected, fined and possibly suspended. As coaches so often complain, “Call it both ways Ref.”

Wonder if Jay Cutler is available.

I was screaming at my TV when he called his first timeout in the 4th quarter on 4th and forever. It was obvious you would need that timeout if you didn’t get the 4th down (which was extremely likely).

I don’t understand wasting the time out. Can anyone explain that?!
