I think this move forces the bills to draft a CB in the 1st round with a lot of speed/agility.
Beane himself said the first goal is to win the division.
And now with miami having significant speed, we need to match that on defense.
just an opinion but wouldnt be surprised.

Back off dude! I may live in Southern California now but I was born and raised in WNY. Sheeesh
My point still remains. Beane needs to be really careful. There’ll be plenty of veterans looking to jump on the bandwagon, and having family in WNY is even MORE reason to be skeptical of Gronk’s motivation….not less.
haha so someone else decided to use the whole Cali thing against you.
Talk about Statesism or how ever you want to call it.
Same thing happened to me and I got suspended from the board for telling the guy off. You definitely kept it cooler than I would.

I don't have a problem with McD benching guys for making big mistakes. Belichick did it all the time. What I do have a huge problem with is a HC that doesn't own up to his own colossal mistakes. I'd be terrified knowing I've worked my butt off in a playoff game only to have him screw it up late.
Just curious of when he didn't own up to making a mistake? He has always stated it starts with him and he has to do better.

My take. right or wrong.
Rooney rule was put in place so minorities could have a chance to at least interview. Because that was the agreement about 20 years ago. I do think the initial reasoning was on good intentions but over time, not so much.
Now did/do the Owners and GM's go in a head coaching search completely blind and have no idea before hand who they would want. Hell no. They already have a list of coaches, white/black/mixed that they want to interview. Then they have to go through the motions to interview minorities to fulfill the rule if their original list did not have a minority.
The Rooney Rule, in my opinion, is almost degrading at this point to both parties. Teams are just going through the motion as I mentioned and as Flores mentioned.
Maybe conduct interviews randomly through a third party that sets time/days and the interviewee is blacked out or an avatar placed over them in video chat and voice is distorted for the initial screening. And then based on that interview, the ones selected get to meet face to face. I know it sounds crazy but it might be the only real chance that race or age isn't a factor.
Imagine if this was every job out there. Companies would do what the NFL is doing and just having it as a check box.

I wish I could automate Puke Face reaction to posts that lack logical thinking..
Devs, make it happen
And no... I won't give examples because I will probably get suspended again.

A winning team with mountains of cap space is going to attract a lot of free agents. The Bills, on the other hand, will have to make hard choices.
But what is worse... Living in Cincinnati or living in Buffalo.

And Gabe Davis. What a show.
It's a shame someone had to lose this game. Both teams lit it up.
Agreed!
Told my wife last week was the most perfect game I have ever seen and this week was the craziest.
Josh Allen and the offense played amazing, defense were shown their weaknesses. Which honestly we kind of knew. No pro-bowlers mean we lack that "IT" factor like Josh Allen on offense.
Hopefully we get one for next season.

Timing of this crap is really lame IMO while in mid playoff run.
I'm happy for these guys overall, just not a fan of the when is all.
Eh - I feel they probably have been talking about it before Schoen was officially hired...
Like hey, If I get this job for the NYG, then I would love to bring you in as HC...
So my point is, the stress/time invested would be less for Daboll and everyone if it was already agreed upon which means less of a distraction... mainly because the players/coaches EXPECT Daboll and or Frazier to go else where.

The weird thing is after Half Time in the Tampa bay game, the bills are different.
Coaching has been significantly more aggressive and the players have found a more aggressive mode in their play style. Even if the plays aren't always working, it seems the change has allowed for a 3 INT game, or less then perfect game from Allen, to still be a Win. Major change compared to 3/4 of the season. Not saying that is the case with the Chiefs game but for some reason, I trust the Bills to come out swinging and having success. -
Dont be surprised if we get some "deals" with NYG in the future.
Kind of like Schoen giving a little love to Beane for helping him become successful and getting a shot.
Very similar to Beane and McD giving love to Carolina in deals for players.

Performance in "one-score games" is one of the dumbest stats and always has been.
The Bills lost a "one-score game" to the Steelers. Pittsburgh led by 10 pts with 45 secs left and it became a "one-score game" only because the Bills decided to kick a first-down field goal to cut it to 7. The Bills didn't touch the ball again after attempting an onside kick.
The Bills lost a "one-score game" to the Bucs, but only because they made a crazy comeback to force OT and then never touched the ball due to the NFL's dumb overtime rules.
I consider the games vs Jags, Pats and Titans to be more reflective of what this stat is attempting to measure, which is end-game variance, luck, the ability to win in the clutch (if you think such a thing is an actual skill), etc.
ummm the Tampa Bay game definitely counts... Since they were within 1 score before kicking the field goal to tie to send it to overtime. Just cause they were down big at half and came all the way back, doesn't discount it.. that doesn't make ANY logical sense.

Okay I will say it here, as people seem to not be concerned, I am about the defense vs. elite QB's. Yes the Bills annihilated the Pats, but NE moved the ball, again converted too many 3rd downs & when not were 4-4 on 4th.
This week is Mahomes & not Jones.
But also when did those happen? Was it the last drive they had for a TD? where we had backups in all over the defense... because I remember the score being 47-10 in my drunken happiness before backups were put in on Defense.
I know half of the 4th down conversions were on their final drive with bills backups in as well as 2 3rd down conversions. So context is needed.
Not saying that your point of facing Mahomes vs Jones is not relevant because we know it is. Completely better offense and QB than the Pats.
But saying the Pats were successful on 3rd down (7-14) and 4th down (4-4) when those stats would most likely be different in the first team Defense played on the final drive.

So I figured I would put this here since this post is the reason I started drunk posting after the Jets game which led to a week in detention by the Mods....
Firstly, I apologize to those that I said mean things to. Hopefully your feelings aren't hurt too bad.
Second, some of us are still waiting on the "McD should be fired" folks to at least say something instead of waiting for a down game to come out of hiding.Anyways, go Bills

Following since 1963, seen it all. I was just hoping to see better in all 3 phases. Loved the D.
this is just me, but maybe just set expectations to a certain level. Expecting perfections ALWAYS leads to disappointment.
Which is why I get so frustrated with people wanting the FIRST coach since Levy that has been successful consistently to be fired.. Its liks FFS we are finally good and you want to gamble on "maybe good" just to have bragging rights.

Dominating in clock, yards, blocked punt and up by 3 in the 4th quarter, and after seeing them lose every one score game this year, yeah, white knuckle.
I get it. but when are we going to trust the team?
i guess 20+ years of failure will do that to someone

If he agrees to leave to play for the panthers just for the "business side" then he only cares about money. And for him to say he loves people like a brother and convinces Miller to come here only to chase $$$$ then he basically talks out of his '@ss'
