I did some business in Dundee for a few days and stayed at one of the hotels that was a direct result of the Cabellas store. The hotel was packed and for being in the middle of BFE it was pretty expensive. (read as they weren't giving the rooms away). There wasn't much to do there in Dundee in the evening so I went to the Cabelas store and it was insanely large with a mountain and a trout stream inside! The parking lot was FULLLLLL!!!!! of RVs owned by people spending the WEEK there going to the store and related events that the store ran. Two more hotels and an RV park were being built when I was there, and this is in a town where the only other major employer is a cement factory. If Bass Pro can bring SOME of this to Buffalo, it may be the first positive thing to happen to the area in years!

OT: Will Peyton Manning be the greatest QB ever?
theesir replied to daquixers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless you mean best pure passer, neither Marino or Manning are the best QB ever. They may set the record, but until you lead a team to a Championship you are not one of the great "QuarterBacks". Guys like Montana, Favre, Young, Unitas but their teams on their shoulders and WILLED them to win. All Marino and Manning (to this point in his career) have done is set passing records. -
Harrington needs to sit down because he is thrwing for about 95 yards a week. He has open players in the endzone and misses them and does not spark his team. A number 3 pick in the draft needs to be able to carry the team on his own when called upon to do so. He has not been able to rise above the injuries or talent around him. Detroit has a promising backup on the bench who seems to have a presence on the field and the respect of his teammates. Detroit owes it to their fans to see what he can do and make a decision about Harrington in the offseason.

But great for a middle of the night or early morning visit to the can with out having to turn on the light while you're half (or more ) asleep and find yourself staring into the face of the sun. The dimmer in the bathroom is great.

Perhaps he's having sympathy pains for JP. When JP is feeling 100% Vincents leg will feel better as well.

Can't do that, we need him for the playoff run!

Anybody know about old sports cars
theesir replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a 69 Vette and parts are not necessarily hard to find there are a number of companies that produce repoduction parts for folks just like us who like to restore these beauties. Again, many of the online forums are a great place to ask others where certain parts are available from. The internet has made this even easier then classic car restorers had it 10-15 years ago. -

While I'm glad the body is rust free, YOU NEED to check the frame. Get under the car, check the cross member and the area of the frame where the front and rear wheel assemblies connect. These are the major trouble spots. Either way. HAVE FUN a classic car will bring you the greatest of joy and the biggest of frustrations, but its well worth it. I recommend that you search around and find a good mustang forum. The experience of the people there will be invaluable in helping you to figure out some of the annoyances you are sure to face. -

There is one word that best helps to answer whether or not you go a good deal - FRAME. The biggest issue you will deal with when purchasing a classic sports car is frame rust. If the frame is solid then the other repairs will give you a few years (and a few dollars) of enjoyment with your son. If the frame is rusted out, you are looking at BIG expense. -
HEre's a real great bit of advice. Hyundai has the best warranty in the Auto industry, but I'm not running out to buy one of those. There are numerous quality AV receivers for less than 600 dollars.

THIS is the first post against the increase that I realy agree with. Businesses that send large volumes will certainly feel this much more than the average consumer. -
Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
theesir replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey unidentified poster who calls people Dickheads, I have friends who work for the postal service as did my grandfather and they do and he did work themselves to the bone. These people are NOT lazy. My Friend in NC has a full 8 hour route, with thousands of addresses all of which have to be sorted before he can even begin delivering. If it takes him longer than the assigned time his records reflect this and it can effect his ability to receive raises and route promotion. If you want to start throwing insults at people, log in, and take responsibility for your words. It takes a real kitty to post insulting words annonymously. -

You wouldn't if you had to listen to the show all week. Its all they've talked about, even when they had Sam Gash on this morning. Big win by the Bills and barely a mention of that.

Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
theesir replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering all the waste you are pointing out, it is STILL Only .41cents. There must be something being done right if they can provide the service they do for only 41 cents. There is waste in all business and in ALL of government. If they were even 20 times more efficient and less wasteful, it might cost me 34 or 35 cents to mail a letter. The alternative is some other service like UPS or Airborne Express who charge 10 to 15 times as much. -
Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
theesir replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did a little research and want to clarify something, the Postal Service is a Governmental agency, but in most way is more Private business than Governmental agency. It can be sued and is subject to most business laws. It receives less than 100 Million a year from the Fed to cover free mailings such as those for politicians. All the rest of their operating revenue comes from postage. -

The US Post office is not a government agency, are the employees government workers? -
Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
theesir replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fuel costs alone are up over 20 percent from a year ago. If my memory serves me right postage has gone up less than or just about 10 cents in the last 10 years. There may be bad management, but 41 cents is still a hell of a bargain to move a letter across the country. How people out here complaining about the postage rate would pay over $2.50 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks? -
Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
theesir replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When was the last time there was a postal increase??? Wasn't it about 3 years ago. Less people are using the mail these days, so revenue for the postal service is down, yet they still have to give raises to employees, pay higher fuel cost etc. I can see where the increase is necessary. How can anyone complain about pay 41 cents (or even 50 for that matter) for a letter or payment to be picked up at your house taken possibly hundreds or thousands of miles and delivered to the door of the intended party in 3 days or less. You could save the stamp and take it there yourself!!! As soon as I saw the story I knew people would raise a big stink. I makes me laugh. -
While I love HK, I agree that Denon makes quality equipment. The best advice I can give is spend a couple of extra bucks and avoid your Sony, Panansonic and even Yamaha. They are all about features, with less of an emphasis on quality sound. Each of these Big name brands are more likely to distort the sound when they are "pushed". Don't just look at WAtts per channel. This number is meaningless the way many manufacturers determine the number. Often they push a single tone through the channel and get a wattage rating that way. I have yet to listen to anything on my reciever that has only a SINGLE TONE. Do your research!

M. Harrison a FA at season's end?
theesir replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Colts seem to making every effort to make Harrison LESS important to their offense. Look at the year that Manning is having and then look at Harrisions numbers. He only has 637 receiving yards and 8 of mannings 36 touchdowns. He has come out and said he feels like he is being pushed out of the offense. The question is, why are they doing it? Is it to move ahead with the offense knowing her won't be there next year or are they trying to show him that he isn't "all that" in hopes of lowering his price tag. This situation is going to be interesting in the off season. -
I have a Harmon Kardon AVR 330 Receiver. The receiver has a much higher current that many others, so the Watts per channel may look low, but the volume and sound clarity blows away anything else I have listened to. http://www.harmankardon.com/product_detail...R%20330&sType=C I paid in the mid $500s for it and have not regreted the decision for one moment. HK concentrates less on the bells and whistles that you will never use and puts their efforts into fantastic sound reproduction.

My favorite dessert I ever had was Red Velvet Cake. A friends mom made it and I've never seen or heard of anyone making it again. If anyone is familiar with this, I would love a recipe.
