  1. My son is a beginner golfer. My wife and I both golf. I saw the pictures of the course you mentioned when looking at the CW site. It might be too much for my boy, so it might be a no go for the wife and myself, but Maybe it will work out. Julie (wife) and myself are going to take a weekend trip ourselves this summer either to Peek n Peak or Holiday valley for a resort stay and golf weekend.
  2. I just made the reservations! WE are staying at the Woodlands Hotel and Suites right at the entrance to the town and the package included all access tickets to Williamsburg. I think we will have to pay extra for Jamestown and Yorktown, but I think we will be going there for sure. Thanks to all of you for your help. My wife has even started saying "why don't you ask on TBD?" when we are torn on a decision related to..... well.. almost anything.
  3. The fireworks should be cool. If we do go to Busch Gardens, it will be on the last day in the area (Wed the 6th) so hopefully we will avoid a little of the independence day crowd. We plan to stay onsite (or at least right next door) at the Woodlands Hotel & Suites.
  4. Thank you all. It seems as if the 3 day time frame is good. We will be there 4th of July week, so the whole patriotic feel should be great. I forgot to mention that we are spending a day at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello on the way down. Its a regular colonial cornacopia of fun (I'm kidding, I love the fact that my son enjoys this stuff) Are Jamestown and Yorktown worth the extra trip?
  5. I am traveling this summer to colonial Williamsburg with my wife and 7 year old son (who is nuts about colonial history and the like (our vacation last year was to Mount Vernon)). I am wondering how many days do I need there. We were planning on 3 and then continuing on to Virginia beach for 3. If this too long at Williamsburg. Will we run out of things to do?? The help of my learned TBD friends would be most appreciated.
  6. Exactly, were they worried about hurting someones feelings??? Shouldn't they have busted in there in full force and just taken control of the network? Their CTU for God's sake, why should they have to be all coy and undercover while trying to stop 5 nuclear meltdowns? Loved the rest of the the show though. Oh yeah, sorry for the delay, I TIVO 24 and watch it on Wed. nights.
  7. I'm stunned and sad. As scary as this sounds, HST and his freewheeling style were a big influence on me in my "days". As a matter of fact many of my friends called me by the Nickname "Laslo", as I was in law school and carried around a plastic doctor bag full of goodies at times. I can't imagine that Hunter would have made an exit like this without leaving behind a note. When it shows up I'm sure it will live up to him. RIP Hunter.
  8. Who is the good young talent you are talking about.... Price?, Cowert?, Winfield? (Good talent, but not at that price). Fill us in.
  9. I have a friend who was perfectly healthy and athletic who had a rather severe stroke when she was 31. She is recovered to about 98%, but I can guarantee she was not using steriods. Strokes are a result of many factors.
  10. WE'RE NUMBRER 1!! WE'RE NUMBER 1..... wait......Ummmm.....never mind.
  11. It wasn't Goodenow that answered it was one of the executive commitee of players that were seated at the table at the front of the room with him. This to me however makes it even worse that the apology was merely a pointing of the finger.
  12. Not happening. His Press conference is on now and he is making excuses and that's it.
  13. Almost word for word. I wonder if it was someone who read your thread here.
  14. Did you just call WGR and suggest this???
  15. If my dish didn't work at all I would still be happy I no longer was with Adelphia. Even with only my locals working, they are still presented digtally and in Stereo, with adelphia only channels over 100 were in digital and only those were broascast in stereo, all for the same price. No thanks.
  16. My signal strength is in the upper 70's low 80's normally. I also found these numbers low and Directv is sending someone out (for free) this Saturday to realign the dish. The cover cause a decrease of 2-3 points of signal strenth, but I thought it would help keep snow from building up in the bottom of the dish. This would happen and I would lose signal. Then I'm up on the roof in my pajamas and coat brushing off the dish to get my signal back. This morning my 118 signal was in the 80's, but my 101 signal was 0! I saw some snow build up on top of my LNBs and this must be what is causing the problem. Am I REALLY the only one with this problem???
  17. I love my service, I love my Tivo, but I can not stand the constant loss of signal whenever we have a slightly heavy general snowfall. I have a dish cover and it still does not help. When I bought the service I was assured that the cable company claims of loss of service whenever it snows were lies, now, I'm not so sure.
  18. Radio is reporting a general power outage in Lancaster area. Speculation is that Erie county has begun turning the lights out in that area, Cheektowaga and Clarence are next.
  19. Why the hell would the Bills call the press conference at 1pm when the NHL has called a 1pm press conference to cancel the NHL season?! There are about 5 or 6 "other" hours they could have chosen, do you really think they don't know about the NHL confernece?
  20. I also live here and agree, blow the whole thing up. If it means every legislature loses reelection then good, maybe things will be fixed. I'm willing to suffer for a year for the sake of a better county in the future. I heard on the radio this morning that in the past 10 years, the number of Private sector jobs have decreased in this area by .4%.... the number of Public sector jobs have INCREASED 18% in the same time. Giambra, who I once thought would turn things around, has proven himself to be like every other one we elect into that position.. A WHORE. What a conincidence that that 20 best qualified people for jobs in this county happen to be his family and friends. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  21. I was there (Jim Morrison's grave) in August of 2004. The grave is nothing like it used to be. The bust is gone (it was stolen). The graffeti is all gone and the grave is almost as non descript as any other in the cemetary. The grave wa roped off so that you could not come closer than about 5 feet away and there was a gaurd stationed nearby to prevent people from going past the ropes. It was still cool, but I had seen all the pictures and heard the stories of the site and made it a "must see" on my trip to Paris, so was a bit disappointed with how "sterile" it was.
  22. I am the only one that thinks U2 gets a lot more attention than their music merits?? Since the Unforgetable Fire (Maybe even before) I have found most their music to be pop drivel. Just my opinion.
  23. You've been watching football for over 25 years and you think the first paragraph above is a justifiable risk to take rather than do all you can to get the first down and ice the game. So the Pats should have figured, "odds are we're not gonna lose, so lets shut it down for the week, we don't want to rub it in, lets try to win nice." Impressive logic! 25 years huh?
