The answer given stated why they would, regardless of the Bills status. LIN does not just own CBS stations, but FOX stations, ABC affiliates and others. LIN only choose to "pull stations" from markets where they have no carriage agreement with TWC. They choose to stay on in NONE of these markets. They cannot choose to pull themselves from carriers with which they have an agreement, only those that they don't.

You need to read a bit more before you rant.... This shutdown of LIN stations on Time Warner is happening in Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Austin, Green Bay, Buffalo and a number of other cities as well. I seriously doubt folks in Toledo care how the Bills are doing, but I bet people in Indy are pissed about not seeing the colts this weekend. This is not a Buffalo thing. Stop thinking so locally.

I don't believe that they can legally show another market's feed without permission from the home market carrier, which would be WIVB and there is no way they will offer permission. It would kill any leverage they have. EDIT: Looks like I was right. You seem misinformed when it comes to locals on Sat. I have DirecTv and receive all of the local channels in Buffalo in BOTH standard and high definition. As for all the rest. In terms of having to have boxes in each room (and paying for them) you are correct. I have to agree that Cable is a better solution (cost wise especially) for someone with more than a couple of TVs By the way, with DirecTv, I do pay about 10 a month for HD service and have about 78 HD channels. (not including PPVs and things like that)

Didn't he break up and almost intercept a pass in the second qtr and absolutely crush the running back on a behind the line stop on a running play yesterday. I certainly have noticed him. I don't count on the announcers to point out who is playing well or not. Hell if we listened to the announcers, we would have kicked a field goal late in the game to make sure we had enough time to try and score a touchdown later if we got the ball back.

I think that there is a changing of the guard going on when it comes to QBs in the NFL. With players like Manning, Favre, Bulger and Hasselback on the downhill side of their careers, we seem, for the first time in many years to have a collection of GOOD young quarterbacks taking over their teams. Aaron Rogers, Jay Cutler, Jason Campbell and our Trent Edwards. It seems like there have been many years of QBs rising a bit and then failing to meet expectation, then falling off. QBs like Pennington, JP, Alex Smith, David Carr and others. Sure a good one has shown up here and there, Brady, Romo, Brees, but it seems now there is a whole group of young rising stars taking over their teams all at once. This may be the beginning of a new "Golden Era" of rising stars in the QB ranks. How great is it that we are right there in the mix.

I'm in Washington on vacation and was just reading about what a major disappointment Devin Thomas has been as well. Dropping passes, performing terribly in conditioning drills and looking disinterested in games. I guess both he and Kelly got a major dressing down from the coach. Glad we didn't draft either of them.

Well then that makes all those news outlets look pretty stupid, because I Tivoed the Opening Ceremonies and just went back and rewatched that part. The announcers clearly called it "Great visual computer effects" and "great cinematography" in referring to the movie director who produced the show.
