How much on Sunday will be an evaluation of Brandon Beane?
Nelius replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
This should really happen every game, but the offensive skill positions, and really even the O-line should be under scrutiny at this point. All of Gabe-Knox-Crowder has been a very unfortunate swing and miss so far for the most part. We all expected at least a couple if not all of them to take a leap this year. That clearly hasn't happened yet. Probably been said already, but Dorsey's going to be under the most intense evaluation this weekend, which makes more overall sense than Beane right now. Whether it's Case or a limited Josh, all eyes on the Dorse. Eyes should roll over to Beane if the d-line falls apart and allows Cousins to torch for a high scoring easy win. -
Is there really no poll on this yet? Put me down for 1 game. He's not missing 4+ games unless he slipped while walking his dog and further injured himself or something else crazy that they're hiding. Dude rubbed his elbow and uncorked a bread basket 70 yarder after the injury. The few that are still dancing around (maybe even hoping for) the possibility of him missing 4+ games or worse are far more ridiculous than those analyzing and hoping for no games or 1-2.

On to Minnesota (get this game in the rear view mirror!)

Flying in for this one. First game in 3+ years. Obviously wanted to see Josh play but completely understand the situation if he's even a little bit hurt. I can get behind the Case-Diggs revenge game. I'm in the camp that there's still a slight chance however since it hasn't been completely ruled out. I'm also assuming that Josh heals like Wolverine because he's Josh Allen. Cousins is my 3nd least favorite QB in the league. He was 1st for awhile, then Brady came back, and now he's pretended he's not an android this season which makes him a sliver more likeable so I moved him back a notch (Brady, Kyler, Cousins). But he's not a top tier QB. He's good enough to maybe steer you to the playoffs but we all know that's about it. He's the definition of QB purgatory. But, that might be all you need with a talent like Justin Jefferson. He's incredible, and I'm surprised I'm not seeing more fear of him specifically in this thread. I trust Case and company to push the ball for a few hundred yards and 20+ points more than I do our defense to stop a Cook-Jefferson combo right now. -
I admittedly haven't intensely watched Tommy's play by play this year, but was his 290 yard no TD loss to the Panthers somehow that much better? Maybe the 243 yard 1 TD plopper against Pittsburgh showed something that the stat line didn't? Josh looked horrible on some throws today granted, almost god forbid hurt, but he's still a maniac that ran for 2 TDs. But all QBs, Brady on down, have had awful games this season.

Allen right now is probably a good half step behind Mahomes overall, in terms of everything, but that's about the only QB. Agree with the good doctor who wants him to sling it 60 times a game. It's the only way for Allen to get back into that top tier, because we know his high points can even reach a level beyond Patty.

I think a lot of what is being mistaken as tentative is due to the fact that we have a severe lack of playmakers and nobody was getting open against the Jets secondary. I saw him completely miss Shakir on a nice 8-9 yard slant but it was because he was trying to force the ball downfield which seems like the opposite of tentative. I think he needs more options and/or better play calling.

2020 Feeling More Like Major Missed Opportunity
Nelius replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
QBs are terrible this year. I'm not seeing anything out of Herbert or Burrow for example that we saw last year. Herbert especially has not taken the dominant step forward that everybody was calling for. Who knows what is going on with Rodgers. Mahomes is doing his thing but doesn't look like the wizard of two years ago. David Carr disappears 3 out of 4 games. Hurts and maybe Lawrence are the only two real talents emerging. My point is that it actually seems quite a bit easier overall this year, so I completely disagree for the sad QB play alone. If Mahomes, Herbert, and a couple others were in some rare air tossing ridiculous games while Allen was bumbling, then I'd possibly agree, but everything is still up for the taking considering the lack of dominant QB play. Tua on second thought is probably the only one that's really surprising, but he's a hit away from being destroyed every single game. -
I don't think they're out of the spotlight though, sorry. Next week looks to be the most exciting game of the week, and Josh seemingly has half a dozen new commercials. There's also too many talking heads on the bandwagon.

WEEK #9 - AROUND THE NFL GAMEDAY THREAD - NON BILLS

He wouldn't reply even if people took it. Just tosses random haymakers and then runs away -

I can't remember ever seeing this level of god awful QB play around the league. There are numerous guys that don't belong, and nobody is really lighting it up. Our guy is still at the top despite an absolute dud today. -

The concerns about Allen may be legit, but just about every QB outside of Hurts surprisingly has looked brutal multiple times this year. Rodgers? Herbert? Burrow? Mahomes? None of them are lights out right now -

Really glad I threw some money on Tennessee after that second Henry TD. The moldy old garbage cherry on top of this crap sundae football weekend. -
No not at all, this isn't an issue to me. We have way bigger problems than our B+ kicker. Nobody is Justin Tucker. Bass is fine, and it's not like the 51 yarder that he hit today is anything near automatic. Was a good kick.

You can watch it yourself. He did remember wrong. Josh was seemingly hungover if anything. He also forgot to conveniently mention that before Josh's "mental panic attack" (lol) that he gave one of his most relaxed and best interviews ever for about an hour.

About half the Tua fanboys here already crowned him on that single day in September against the Ravens. Tua's playing good ball right now, but he still has the potential to get ragdolled out of any game any week. I'll still take the unicorn QB that runs over guys for fun.

My confidence will be based on the post game status of Allen’s arm. He’s been off for a couple of weeks now and that rubbing of the forearm at the end was something we’ve never seen from him. Could be unrelated - maybe that injury happened in the moment and his recent struggles have been between the ears. Still didn’t like it. Point is that we’re one more big injury away from this season slipping. This was a damaging loss, there’s no other way to frame it. I don’t like our offensive playmaker or safety depth. I want OBJ and/or about 200% more Cook.

It’s unfortunately very clear that Knox isn’t making the impact that we all expected. Obviously the same can be said for Gabe but that’s been discussed to death. I think most expected both of these guys to make the leap this year. They haven’t, so now go get help.
