  1. Agree that it's probably coaching first, but at this point I'm also concerned with the talent. Primetime Zeke would probably move the chains a bit more on this offense, as would a Javonte Williams or Najee Harris for example. Playcalling does seem awful too though so it is hard to gauge overall I guess, but I just don't think there's a single back on this active roster that has it in them to really impact a game. I don't get why people hate the Antonio Williams idea, though? It's very optimistic yeah but at this point in the season that's also basically it. Why not play him? What other option is there? I guess we can just continue to hope that Matt Breida suddenly becomes the back he's never really been, or I guess Singletary finally starts running faster lol. C'mon. I don't have much real hope in Antonio Williams but he's truly the only hope there is, the other 3 aren't going to surprise you down the stretch.
  2. I actually thought about Olandis Gary when I posted that, good call. Cadillac Williams as well, etc. I don't disagree with your your point, but I still stand by mine - this goes back to the RB's are a dime a dozen BS - yes you need a good line, but you also need a pretty decent back. I'm not talking about the line, that's a separate subject. I'm talking about the back, and ours aren't delivering and are incredibly underwhelming. Want to offer more commentary on our current running backs?
  3. No. This thinking infuriates me as a fan, sorry. I saw the same logic after we lost to the Titans. I want pure domination, not mental gymnastics about how we may be the 4th best team in the AFC.
  4. Mike Evans is a first ballot Hall of Famer currently on a record pace and he will probably catch a ton of footballs against this team, it's a given, especially with Tre out. He doesn't get the right amount of credit. Defense will have their hands full, so the offense needs to do something. If they can't figure out this running game which seems very unlikely, then Diggs needs more targets than he's had all year. And Beasley. Warm weather game so I need 25+ targets between the two, really, if they have any hope of keeping up. I'm expecting a huge Diggs game, win or lose. Josh/Diggs/Beasley, maybe Knox need to put this on their back next week. Less plodding running backs. Let Allen air it out.
  5. Kerryon Johnson is still out there. If Kalen Ballage can play in the NFL right now, Kerryon Johnson can play in the NFL right now. He's faster than Singlemoss and only has 3 fumbles through 3 years - better rate than Singlemoss and Breida. 24 years old, 4.3 ypc in the NFL. What am I missing on this guy? He might be better than any back currently on our roster.
  6. The more I think about it the more I'm ready to die on the Antonio Williams hill. There's really nothing else you can do. How bad can he be? He's only 24, he's our last option, let's go. More obscure backs have gone off, let's see what he can do.
  7. WGR boys talking about Antonio Williams so I think I'm on to something here. Spice it up, agreed!
  8. Play Antonio Williams or sign Kerryon Johnson. O-line is awful but we need different RB blood.
  9. Yeldon was awful and also had fumble issues. He's out of the league now so I think it's pretty safe to say he wasn't going to save us either. This very well could be Breida's last stop. I don't like that our depth is historically old and nearly out of the league come to think of it, there are no 25 year old backs we can pilfer and stash? Who's our Practice Squad JAG at this point because I sincerely want to see them get some action. I think it's still Antonio Williams and I want to see him somehow. Why not?
  10. Post game callers still with the Breida love. A few nice runs isn't worth a fumble every 8-10 carries, folks. Breida will not save us.
  11. I'm assuming some of this is because Sullivan is Sullivan, they probably don't like him. Isn't he independent now? Seems he still contributes to digital outlets but he's always kind of a troll. I enjoyed it, good to see some emotion. Clear rushing defense issues aside they're not wrong in term of total points, which is what really counts.
  12. I'm having trouble blaming Bass considering the ridiculous weather. We all saw that Bailey punt drop out of the sky. If your coach asks you to kick an 80 yd field goal for example, is it your fault really when you inevitably fail?
  13. He may have shown a card or two when he said something to the extent of "I think I know what it is" in response to a question regarding fixing things. I'd like to at least see some assistant shuffling, something. Something that counts as a "coaching change".
  14. McDermott having a pretty decent press conference. Being more honest, more critical. Kind of hinted at needing to look at everything. Good amount of the canned McD answers but he's fielding some tough questions well. Somewhat different than the standard McD stuff which is good to hear.
  15. It was time after Jacksonville. They're not tough. There's a few examples - Milano, Spencer Brown, Harrison Phillips at this point, but the majority play soft. Our o-line for the most part is tremendously soft, I feel like even their body language is lazy and out of shape a lot of the time.
  16. There was the the weather so this is hard to judge this game, I get the shorter routes tonight. Sanders is very fast too though and has shown it this year. Actually within a second of Brown's 40 time (from years ago) and Brown is probably not in the league right now for pretty good reason, it's not just the Bills that have passed on him. If there's more examples beyond this game I think the better question is why are the coaches using Sanders that way?
  17. It doesn't have to be a running team, though. It has to be a team with some effective running plays around our A+ QB and above average WR depth. We don't have that, there's no need to sugarcoat or fake like we do at this point. We just don't have a dynamic player at RB. Old Matt Breida isn't really it, we all knew that, even before the fumble tonight.
  18. Man I'm listening to WGR right now and still missed the Poyer/Hyde press conference. Clips are already up on Twitter for those interested.
  19. Thing is that they've tried. They've addressed the issue in the draft and it's just not really working out. Be it scouting or our ability to develop or both, something's not working so I agree it's on Beane. Could have easily had Javonte Williams as far as the draft goes, he looks great. Moss is such a disappointment. I hate to admit it and wanted him to succeed but outside of some toughness he just looks so slow and painfully average out there.
  20. Oh it's two gigantic separate issues my friend, can't stop the run, but also can't run. Serious problems.
  21. Can't this team still gamble on Phillip Lindsay? I liked him before the season. You can't keep trotting these backs out there, we need some new blood from somewhere. Ugh Dolphins got him nevermind, of course.
  22. Somebody's got to go. Completely understand if it's not McD or a Coordinator since we're still technically in it, but an assistant, Babich, heck I'll take somebody getting demoted at this point. There needs to be some accountability, that awful game came after multiple embarrassing displays already this year.
  23. How do you not run Josh more in a game like this?
  24. That year where we were better than the Pats went by quick. Fire somebody.
  25. Alright no Moss but maybe a little Motor is okay.
