  1. It's really only 2-3 of them but yeah it feels like theres about 20+ chirping at all times. I'm a Hopkins believer and think he still has some left in the tank. Dallas seems like a weird fit though, unless either he or Gallup is cool with a reduced role.
  2. I'm not arguing that he isn't a good QB - I think he's firmly in the 6-8 range - but I don't think he's displayed anything close to Josh's ability and definitely shouldn't be ranked ahead of him. You seem to agree, so is your argument that Herbert could potentially be better with a healthy line, etc? I personally didn't see that at all this year. He almost played timid at times in a way that Allen/Mahomes/Burrow never do.
  3. Juju and Eli Apple got the same paste eating in elementary school quality about them. They're able to hit a tier of annoying that few others can achieve. It's always the guys that aren't very good.
  4. Herbert?! Lawrence is a stretch but Herbert is ridiculous. He took a step back this year if anything and is clearly not the same type of dominant force as Allen or Mahomes. He has still not turned the corner and become the all world freak that people thought he would become 2 years ago. I feel like every Justin Herbert game this year was him listlessly throwing for 280 yards and 1 TD.
  5. Lol half time shows. Was there ever a good one? Maybe Prince but then I just remember nonsense like this and multiple doses of Coldplay. It honestly feels like something they should start to sunset, but I imagine there's still a bajillion dollars worth of profit and product placements that still happen somehow and must continue. I've always like that song where she goes Work Work Work Work Work for some reason.
  6. Sorry man, but you really can't say this and conveniently not mention the fact that they also have the greatest TE ever in his prime. You're allowed to slack on wide receivers when you have Travis Kelce. Diggs is essentially our Kelce in terms of impact. If you can somehow get Kelce Jr on this team, then Diggs may become more expendable, but you can't roll with both sub-par WRs and TEs.
  7. Nah. We might actually have the better Cook brother right now. I'm a Dalvin Cook fan and thought he had a shot at being one of the greats a couple of years ago when he was scoring 2-3 TDs every game, but he's currently the perfect marriage of one too many injuries and a talented but old back. Worst case scenario he's approaching Todd Gurley territory, best case he's a talent that you can get cheaper. Can't do it, too risky for this team with too many other holes, but I hope he goes somewhere else and rips off a 1500 yard season.
  8. Thought Vonn Bell was older than 28, I like that one. Risner seems like an obvious choice. Lots of interesting options in the 30-50 range, some near the top seem extremely overrated.
  9. Nah. I think you've got the right idea for all of the young D-line talent though. If you can turn Zack Moss in to Nyheim Hines, then I'd like to see some more flips in general.
  10. McCaffrey is great but he really does cannibalize Deebo's action in this offense. Thought it would be more 1a/1b but it just hasn't really happened. Deebo was one of the best offensive talents in the league last year and he has 2 carries today, with a broken QB.
  11. Fair enough, genuinely curious and that's hard to argue. I think they've squandered Deebo a bit, and thought he'd be more unleashed today. Top talent in the NFC getting Zay Jones level touches right now. I think the Eagles are probably much better than most want to admit, and have simply found the Niners love (#1 in Power Rankings etc) annoying, so I'll admit my bias.
  12. Why are you convinced the Niners are better despite the what is happening right now?
  13. If you're down by 14 and the only difference is Brock Purdy, you're not the better team. San Fran the most overrated team in the NFL, I swear.
  14. Why are so many convinced that project man would be going toe to toe with Hurts? He'd have 3 TDs by now? No.
  15. I know it's early but I'm kind of happy to see this, not gonna lie. I got so sick of so many talking heads, including quite a few around here, that have been crowning the 49ers since about Week 11. It's Brock freaking Purdy. Yeah, I know he's not playing, but that's also the point. Similar to Tua you can't have your QB getting rag dolled, or sitting with a broken finger, or whatever it is that Josh doesn't do. The 49ers have been a paper tiger. They're not properly utilizing Deebo. The offense should run through him even with McCaffrey. Also, Brandon Aiyuk kind of sucks overall and is not even Tee Higgins level. The Bengals or Chiefs would eat this 49ers team. Eagles on the other hand, are a problem with all of that legit talent on offense.
  16. Got to add that I think this post may overrate Hines RB2 ability as well, especially supporting a young back like Cook. Hines has a career 3.9 ypc and a whopping 8 TD as a running back in his 5-year career. That's pretty lame. What's not lame is his speed, and KR and pass catching ability. He's what they've wanted McKenzie to be. You don't need Hines and McKenzie. Get rid of McDummy, sorry. He's too many years deep to make the mistakes he does and offers nothing other than being a Hines back-up, but you can easily figure that out in the draft or FA. Quick dumb guys are everywhere. Hines is now your gadget player rather than a full on RB. Keep Motor, and completely ignore RB in the draft. Spend at least 2-3 picks, ideally early, on WR and TE.
  17. He's currently playing arguably his best season ever and has been utilized more as a dagger in that offense with Hill gone. I agree with much of the rest of what you have listed but I wouldn't be surprised if Kelce has 3-4 more dominating years left at the rate he's going. He has the inside track to being the best TE ever right now. Amazon Prime cringe lord Tony G put up 800 and 7 TD at 37. Kelce might bank 1000-10 at 38 with Mahomes. And we made Hayden Hurst look like Kelce in both the playoff game and even in the shortened game. Hurst is not that good. He's not even Knox statistically. He occasionally runs routes and puts up 400 yards a season and we made him look like Travis Kelce, which to me means we've done absolutely nothing to address Kelce. Could you imagine if the Bills pulled it off last week and had to deal with playoff Kelce this week? Who's going to do that right now? Tre White might throw his body at him for a couple of PIs but nobody on this injury riddled defense is covering Kelce. For the sake of the thread I'm optimistic that we somehow find a way to neutralize AFC tight ends - Kelce, Gesicki, effing Hurst apparently.
  18. It's the worst part about our situation in my opinion, considering the amount invested. Sometimes you forget that Epenesa and Basham were 2nd round picks. Whether it's their talent or the coaching, they still feel like project players trying to find their way. I still have hope for Groot, and have been huge fans of Oliver and Epenesa the few times they've done things, but it's a mess. Four early round draft picks and not a single one is doing anything. We're happy when they make any kind of impact and put up an average stat line. I don't know how you keep Oliver and Epenesa at this point. Epenesa's got journey man written all over him and will probably play for the Houston Texans at least once, it sucks to say.
  19. I don't like that I don't really know how to answer this question. The homerism can't push me over the edge. I'm doubtful. I don't like that we either can't pick or develop players and yet we know that McD is involved in everything. He's a defensive minded coach (the only "defensive minded" coach in the playoffs this past weekend btw), and yet all of our d-line picks going back to Oliver are seemingly babies that are still being coached along to find their place. None on them are taking control. It's really kind of insane. We've got four early round draft picks on that line and not a single one of them is even playing consistently, let alone tearing it up as they should be. Are we supposed to wait until Year 6 in McD's galaxy for these defensive players that he clearly had an opinion on to turn things on, or is he just limited in terms of picking the right player and/or properly utilizing them? It's extremely frustrating and I don't think any of us can wait for another couple of years for some of these guys to figure it out. From Oliver to James Cook, we haven't had a good young player pop since Allen. It's been years now. Maybe Dawson Knox gets a limp thumbs up but he didn't even make the jump that a lot of us thought he would this year, and he was a straight gamble pick anyway. One of McDermott or Beane, likely both, share the responsibility for whiffing on either scouting or development.
  20. Yeah but Eli Apple is only 27 and his insane helicopter mommy doesn't let him out of her sight anyway. No way he knew that. Was clearly mocking the usage by Damar/Buffalo.
  21. 10 months ago we had a great roster when Von and Hyde were healthy, Saffold wasn't a complete bum and was coming off a great season as a run blocker, Jamison Crowder's foot didn't fall off, everybody and their mother thought Knox and Gabe would take a leap, etc. This team clearly has a serious issue with player development, but on paper it was a fantastic roster heading into the season.
  22. I don't understand why you've got to get rid of Motor for Foreman? This board makes it seem like Motor is the most boring player in history but he's averaged 4.7 ypc his career which is really solid, plus he doesn't make dumb mistakes, Josh loves him, etc. It's not flashy but I think keeping Motor and Cook if Motor is inexpensive won't open yet another gaping hole that needs to be filled. Now if they wanted to try something to lure top RB talent then that's a different conversation entirely, I just don't think Foreman or somebody similarly average is a better option than Motor at this point. I kind of like the Meyer for WR depth play. He played really well toward the end of this season.
  23. Rodgers put up 3700 and 26 TDs with Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and 43 year old Randall Cobb this year, and people act like he's suddenly over the hill. No I do not want him on the Jets offense. He'll turn Garrett Wilson into the second coming of Davante Adams.
  24. We've shown a pretty terrible lack of ability to develop players. Just look at our d-line. But, putting that aside, I'm excited about Cook, Shakir, and Groot in a void. Chances aren't very good unfortunately that they'll take a leap, but they could. We need somebody to make a tremendous leap next year. Baby stepping into a role player isn't going to cut it.
  25. Given just the two for the sake of the thread - OBJ. We may never really see Michael Thomas ever again. He may end up being up there with Peyton Hillis and Barry Foster in terms of players that had great years and then completely disappeared. But have to agree that neither is the better option.
