Kind of all you really need from a preseason game then. The Brown/Dawkins tandem is a little concerning but if our #1 looks great ahead of the season then I'm good.

Game Day Thread? Bills @ Steelers 8/19
Nelius replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obnoxious is an interesting take and I don't really disagree. He stole that whole shnow thing from Hollow Da Don and then proceeded to beat it into the ground. Who could get in his ear though? Josh? Mitch? Kind of a weird situation where Dawkins is supposed to be one of the leaders that gets in peoples ears. -

Dawkins has been a growing disappointment for 2 years in my opinion. -
Game Day Thread? Bills @ Steelers 8/19

I thought you were calling the preseason game historic but I think I'm grasping this word salad now. Yes, o-line is a problem, and the lack of depth is a frightening situation that is not a new issue. -
The Ringer ranking of Receiver Cores - Opinions???
Nelius replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lots of disagreement here but that Falcons ranking is truly ridiculous. 10th but their list reads like it’s bottom 3. Drake London was hardly the elite #1 they’re apparently making him out to be. This seems like it’s easily the dumbest ranking. -
The voice of my youth. I remember being in a car with my dad, specifically around the Silver Creek exit on the Thruway if I remember correctly, and it was RJ interspersed with news about the first World Trade Center bombing back in 1993. Truly stuck with me forever. Also enjoyed listening to many games in an unfinished basement and then following it up with hours of NHL 1994. Total legend.

Brandon Shell Reportedly Intends to Retire
Nelius replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can one of the better trolls get this new cringelord up to speed on memes, etc? Jerry Maguire really? Perfectly normal for every single team to sort through discards because there is no single team that has every position nailed, and even then injuries happen. Chiefs have been sorting through all kinds of no names at secondary, just signed another one this week. Clearly they’re not content with their depth and I guarantee they’ll snag a cut DB from somebody’s trash. -
Josh's girlfriend is already complaining
Nelius replied to JakeFrommStateFarm's topic in Off the Wall
Can’t shake the feeling that the last one was a potentially huge distraction for him so am assuming anything will be an improvement. -
Oh so this is like some abstract “you can die tomorrow on your way to the grocery store” argument? Lol ok man. I’d personally not risk it in practice football world but hard to argue with your overall logic I guess
-
If the season ends week 2 of preseason so be it? lol c’mon with this tough guy bs. No you don’t risk your all-world QB in the preseason. I get the value of reps but this is a truly horrendous take

I think I’ve got this down, something like: ”Truthfully he was a luxury pick-up anyway. Thankfully, Dolphins management was able to establish enough depth so that this won’t be much of a factor. It pays to have an organization with foresight, something Beane could surely learn from” while simultaneously dropping us 9 spots in his power rankings because of Brandon Shell retiring…

May need to watch more Fields I guess but he was statistically early Josh Allen lite last year and showed improvement so it almost seems like an unfair comparison. An actual 1100 rushing season is something. Vote goes to Stroud.

Eh Charlotte? I don’t think I’ve been to a more boring city. Buffalo is a great city but there might be different perspectives arguing past each other here. It may very well lag in the walking tour for first timers department, I can see that. Skipping the city if you only have a day before the game makes sense especially if you’re already going to the Falls. You need at least a day to eat and drink anyway.

Jets sense frustration from Aaron Rodgers after spotty practice
Nelius replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Been ready to throw down money on a Russell Wilson level Donkeys collapse for weeks now. This is not going to work out. Rodgers has been straddling player coach/diva for a couple years now and I truly believe this NY experiment is going to be a monumental failure. -
OT…All is not going well on South Beach
Nelius replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty sure Pats fan. He let it slip when MacDonkle had a decent drive against us last year and then proceeded to get eaten alive. You would have thought Airseven was ready to claim the second coming of Tom Brady early on in that game day thread. See also his weird Pats online support in this thread. -
Kind of impressed by 6 hot dogs.

Allen might break records this year. He's clearly dialed in, in great shape, may have shed some dead weight socially, etc. There isn't a person in the world that's calling for his regression. The man has put up 3 straight years or 4250 and 35 through the air, which nobody else but Mahomes can say. If you're still dumb enough to try to be that much of a contrarian that you can't admit that he's one of the top at his profession, then just wait 5 months, you'll either be forced to cave or you'll look even more insane. You couldn't even get Nick Squidward Wright to say that he's expecting a down year from Josh.

Fair enough - Von, Poyer, Hyde, Leonard Floyd All old yes but you need those wily vets for a run. Rousseau the real dark horse. And I'm not even mentioning Tre because like many I'm still not convinced, but if he's back to form, that's at least 4 studs. It's not like this is the Texans defense or something, it's a combo of legit vets and potential everywhere Edit - can't believe I forgot Milano. Studs abound newcam, hope it's enough studs

What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)
Nelius replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Personally speaking, that's not really the complete argument at all. It's mainly a counter to the argument that they'll keep him around just because they feel bad or whatever, since this obviously wasn't a factor last year. He's shown he can make a roster before, which shouldn't be completely ignored. Agree wholeheartedly with Rapp though, but I think Hamlin has just as good of a chance as anybody right now to be the final piece to stick after that. I think we can all agree that he's 100% on the bubble at best. Appreciate the notes though. I also worry that he may be tentative when real game speed hits, which I wouldn't blame him for at all, so what you saw makes sense unfortunately. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets cut, and then either sticks with another team, or capitalizes elsewhere in the public eye. He'll definitely be fine though. -
I mean, ya. There's like four of you battling for top pessimist on a daily basis and you're definitely in 2nd or 3rd place. When it's constant negativity it's a trend, and your reasoning for why this top ranked defense is so average conveniently leaves out injuries to Von, Hyde, and Poyer. Unreasonable? Probably not. Biased? Definitely.

What Would Happen if the Bills Cut Damar Hamlin? (Dan Patrick)
Nelius replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think there will be much fallout and he'll be fine. As others have said he's pretty much his own brand now, a ton of options await him if he stops playing football tomorrow. That said, he made the team last year without any boost. I can't personally shake the concern that he must have taken a step back physically considering everything that happened to him, but if he somehow is still the same player then it's not crazy to think he sticks. I'm not necessarily sold on Marlowe who it feels has been sporadically on and off the team for the last decade and has never really made an impact. -
Man, rough camp for Shakir. Almost every day it seems now.

Ah yes, clickbait from Twitter accounts with 10k followers for the handful of us watching to the minute updates from a Tuesday morning training camp. Makes total sense! I'm sure this "clickbait" is driving a ton of ad revenue...

Jonathan Taylor: Communications with Colts FO Non-Existent
Nelius replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is exactly what I thought when this all started. Don’t like it? Work on your blocking or find a way to contribute on ST. One of the reasons I always liked Motor. He struck as me as the type to find a way to make his game serviceable so he could stick around.
