  1. 7.9 yards per touch across 20 rushes and 9 receptions. That's ALL open space? Seems to me he has some kind of burst to still be averaging nearly 8 yards after almost 30 touches. And hell burst or not, if he's practically going to get a 1st down every single time he touches the ball, I'd say that shows more potential to be a playmaker than anybody else on this roster.
  2. My pessimistic B- is now a solid C. He definitely shouldn't be getting worse, I'm not a fan.
  3. As does his blocking. He was a great story last year but I think he went undrafted for many reasons. We all know he's only here because of Daboll anyway.
  4. Agreed, which is exactly why the should bet the farm on Mike Evans. Durable, 6'5" with a near-40" vertical. Let him bail out Josh on a regular basis.
  5. I almost feel bad for him. Almost. Everybody and Mitch Trubisky's mother knew it was a reach.
  6. Totally agree. It's always a weird argument because how do you classify the jumbled mess of #1 receivers after the clear-cut top tier? Like I'd rather have John Brown than any WR on the Giants, Dolphins, 49ers, Raiders, Broncos, Titans, Bears, etc. Isn't he kind of a #1 by default since he's our #1 and a better option than what about a dozen other teams have? i don't know, clearly this is a boring game haha.
  7. You could absolutely count on Stevie and he did change several games (3 TDs against Cincy). Fitz trusted him and looked for him, and he often made the play. I think he fit the definition even if he clearly didn't have top tier talent after he left Buffalo. But I get it and won't die on an 8 year old hill, Stevie was right on the line.
  8. Yes, I remember having this argument back when Stevie was a #1 receiver. He may have been like the 20th best #1 in the league, but he was undoubtedly a #1 receiver for three seasons. He wasn't Calvin Johnson at the time however and I think this is where people get confused - #1 receiver doesn't necessarily mean one of the top 3 wide receivers in the league.
  9. Was thinking the same thing. I don't like how certain guys can seemingly never reach #1 status. Brown very well could be a #1, he's just not in the top-5 Julio Jones class. It goes out without saying that this team needs another WR whether it's a clear #1 (Mike Evans) or another solid 1B/2A (Allen Robinson). John Brown and a bunch of slot guys certainly isn't going to get it done.
  10. Problem is that Robert Foster is the invisible man this year. His next catch will be his first of the season. I think we need to stop holding out hope for the guy, which makes our WR need even more glaring.
  11. Hope we try to save Allen Robinson's career.
  12. That was a beautiful TD. Allen looks great.
  13. Yeah weather sucks, definitely a factor. Unless you're John Brown because he's a freak who catches everything.
  14. The legend of Preston Williams around here lately. I wouldn't mind him as a receiver either, but I'm not worried about Levi Wallace right now.
  15. C+/B- I was not a fan last season so this is trending in the right direction. I'll bump him up to a B if the offense puts up another 30 this week.
  16. Completely agree that it's a strange thing to focus on which only helps the legend of Gase being a total weirdo but I kind of want to give him a sliver of credit on this one? I fully expected him to throw Darnold under the bus or start to distance himself, but he kind of did the opposite in his own sleep deprived, conspiratorial way.
  17. Interesting, thanks I didn't even know that. I feel like everybody's hoping for late season heroics but the truth is he's done less than Zay Jones this year.
  18. Maybe we need some more mystery meat, though. What is going on with Foster? Is there even a timetable for his situation? Seems that it's gotten worse throughout the year, we're entering Week 8 and the guy doesn't have a catch this season. Could be a lost year.
  19. Pettis is alright, but I don't think he'll change the dynamic much. He's firmly in that Zay Jones to Isaiah McKenzie tier where he could either help or disappear completely, I don't think he'll be much of a game breaker or provide anything different. I do think you're on to something about the AFC but unfortunately all of the interesting WR's that I think we could pull from a spiraling team are in the AFC - James Washington, Mike Williams, Robby Anderson (even though I'm not a fan) - the NFC bottom feeders are a WR wasteland right now. Maybe Taylor Gabriel if the Bears continue to suck? He had a 3 TD game this year which is something the Pettis's or Zay Jones of the world have never done. I don't know, the options may be to pay up (Evans) or go for a RB or TE, I don't really want to see them go after another 4/5 WR that doesn't do anything different.
  20. Yeah I think we're okay too, TE is such a weak position around the league this year. All numbers are down, I think Kelce has 1 TD right now? Darren Waller looks like a freak but outside of him, Knox is one of the more interesting young TE's right now and I'm cool with seeing what he could do. Could be worse, we could be trotting out Luke Willson, or Ricky Seals-Jones, or Jared Cook, or one of the numerous slow, bad TE's that have seemingly been in the league for like a decade now, at least we have some youth at the position. All that said I wouldn't hate OJ Howard. This team just needs another playmaker in general, I'm open to what position it is.
  21. I think it's a little skewed to not count his rushing stats in this 300 yard pipe dream as well. He put up 234 combined yards today, and 292 last week. He's averaging 252 or so combined yards per game this year so he's a lot closer to this ideal QB than a lot of people are giving him credit for in my opinion. Dilfer didn't put up 250+ and TDs on the ground regularly.
  22. If this is a thing right now then Kyle Shanahan is the frontrunner but McD is definitely in the rankings
  23. So Micah Hyde surveyed all options in the space time continuum and considered going for the TD at that given moment the optimal choice. Come on Doc, you know this. Yeah you're probably right, but whatever. It was awesome.
  24. Micah Hyde made that play because Micah Hyde is smarter than everybody else on the field at any given time. If he had any doubt he would have kneeled.
  25. Wow I completely forgot about Robert Foster this week until I saw this thread. Like I forgot he was even on the team, it's been so long.
