Rough analogy. If this burns through everyone then god help us all. To your question though, China really hasn't done it yet. For starters we can't really trust a thing that China says, and there is evidence that it's spiking there again. South Korea data is solid and truthful it seems however, and they did it through extreme social distancing, and their culture in general is far more apt than ours to band together and listen to authorities. Do you really think we can get all of America to truly shut down simultaneously for 2-3 weeks like they've done in South Korea and Hong Kong? I find it extremely doubtful. We're already talking about the end of this thing and we collectively haven't even really started simultaneous social distancing yet. Florida still doesn't even have a shut down order!

I fear the fact that this thing is now running rampant in New Orleans is evidence that this is unfortunately not seasonal. Warm climates are watching cases explode as well. This very well could be life until there's a vaccine.

Probably better than Senorise Perry. Upgrade everywhere you can.

Wasn't a big fan. Swear he got out of James Conner's way a couple of times in the Steelers game, or he just took atrocious angles. -

The fact that we just got a WR that's better than Michael Thomas at anything is incredible. I love everything about this. -

Meh, that prospect with 20 posts doesn't like the Addison signing either. C- troll effort. -
Lol Randall Cobb? BOB is embarrassing. Maybe he can pull Brandon Lloyd out of retirement too, that should do it.

So sick of hearing this. Who knew that 18 wide receivers are immediately guaranteed to have back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons and a better contested catch rate, than the 2nd best in the league? Diggs will put up better stats this year than every single wide receiver in this draft (except, maybe CeeDee Lamb but we weren't getting him anyway). -

John Brown just had a career year? I'll gladly take better than John Brown...and John Brown. -

Cousins is a dork, I don't like him either. -

Because he was unhappy and the relationship frayed and got to the point where it couldn't really be saved. You're right, time will tell, but he's truly just a football player with no off-the-field nonsense who doesn't otherwise display diva tendencies. If he's trashing Josh on Twitter a year from now, then it's a pattern that might fit the head case designation, but at this point I just think he's a guy who needs a fresh start. -

Yes, such a head case that he essentially raised his brothers starting at age 14, chose his college based on his proximity to them, is a father now himself, has never been arrested, and a quick Google search shows that he's respected as an incredibly hard worker. If anybody throws around any head case or "diva" nonsense about Diggs they're completely wrong. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's not personal, I just have no idea who you are, and experts that I've been listening to for weeks now disagree. All real, nonpolitical information that I've been tracking since January, including the awesome and highly recommended John Hopkins tracker site, has shown an incredible rate of infection. That's real - if you're 6-8 feet away from a person with this disease you can catch it. That's insanely concerning. I don't care if the death rate is 0.01%. If 50-70% of the population catches it it's an unprecedented ordeal that none of us have seen in our lifetimes. Except the case fatality rate for this virus is about 3% (6% in Italy, oddly), so why not take this seriously? I'm in Colorado where it has jumped from 8 cases to nearly 40 in about 48 hours, so this is clearly spreading. We've confirmed community spread here. Confirmed community spread of a virus 10x more lethal than the flu? Of course that's concerning. Looking back through this thread though it seems this had a political slant from the start and is not really intended for real conversation about this disease, so I apologize for plugging up the party. So sorry, so sars. Still hope you all wash your hands and consider saying no to the next Goo Goo Dolls concert though. -

Thank you. This is an apolitical, Trump-praised dude that works with Trump, so we should all be able to come together now and agree that this is at least 10x worse than the flu, and we should all wash our ***** hands and avoid crowds. -

Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeah, no sorry, that's not really how this works. For all you know I'm an infectious disease expert...so you should listen to me. In reality however I'm not going to get my infectious disease advice from anybody on a Buffalo Bills message board. Maaaaaybe if Bud Carpenter had an account. Are you also Bud Carpenter? -

Would love to agree with you, but facts say otherwise. It's certainly not overblown in Italy, and we're about 10 days away at the current trend. "Oh but the flu killed..." Oh but this just started. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's incredible, although I've watched people who dismissed it two days ago start to realize the gravity of this situation in real time and I can't help but feel bad for them. As if any of us live in a community that can support even hundreds needing ventilation at the same time. Intubation? Better cap that at, what, a dozen at any given time in an urban hospital? Keep in mind that "mild" is considered anything below hospitalization. Roughly 15-18% will need hospitalization. Again, do the math. Sadly some of those that are dismissing it are likely those that really need to take this seriously (ie. old, considering I've seen references to grandkids). I sincerely hope some of you wake up and realize that constantly attempting to prove popular opinion wrong is a dumb goal that ultimately makes you look like an insecure moron. You're not being lied to. You need to wash your ***** hands and avoid crowds. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Except that real public health professionals and experts that don't give a ***** about politics are already calling this the worst infectious disease crisis since the Spanish Flu. Look up Dr. Richard Hatchett, or Dr. John Campbell, an old infectious disease expert that provides updates from his bedroom in the UK and has no reason to lie to you. The experts are beyond concerned, and yet somehow some of you would rather get your news from Trump's economic adviser, or assistant to the press secretary, or whoever was tapped to talk to cameras for the day. Speaking of which, did anybody else see Ben Carson legitimately give up the other day when being questioned about this disease? And that was about 5 days ago. Things move quick. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A response team led by a man who saw an HIV infection spread so he could first pray about the idea of safe needle exchange, which has only been proven to work time and time again. You're utterly insane if you don't think Trump was completely blindsided by all of this. He's admitted as much! He said the entire world was blindsided, which is actual horseshit. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Nelius replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
300+ new cases today. Wasn't somebody that we all know crowing about only 15 cases or so just a week ago? Look, you don't need to panic, but you really should start taking this seriously. Do the math, man. A time when a real infectious disease is just starting to run rampant is not really a time to scream about past infectious disease scares. If anything, you'd think we would have learned something with all of that training instead of gutting the CDC... -
Antonio Brown: Apology Tour - Preparing for return?
Nelius replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well to be fair wouldn't sitting for two years mitigate some of the wear and tear that comes with older receivers? Look I can't stand AB but he's gifted physically and can probably play until he's 38. He could still be one of the best on the field right now. It's a dang shame that he's an insane rapist with a possible drug problem off it, however.
