List of Bills QBs during the Desolation
Nelius replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can only hope that New England is in the early stages of putting a similar list together. I think it's possible. -
Who really knows the truth to these reports at this point, but the surge of Austin fans is going to be weird. They're going to be campaigning hard, I bet there's already fans organizing. On one hand it's like heck yeah you're a Bills fan, welcome, but on the other they're trying to infiltrate and steal everything you hold dear. Like a Black Mirror Bills season.

I get that it's all a negotiation but it's a dark cloud nonetheless. They way it's reported is kind of an all-business middle finger to the fanbase. Might be wrong but it feels like they Pegulas have been dealing with a stream of bad press lately, and I think this was all clearly an ego project for them to some degree, so I also wonder now how they'll collectively take a growing wave of Buffalo fans, from both sports, dumping on them. I understand that's more emotional and makes zero business sense, but they're not wrong unfortunately that they could find interest elsewhere. I can envision a reality where they do pull up stakes, even though I don't really think they will. Annoying at absolute best, terrifying at worst.

Madden NFL 22 WR Ratings Released Today. Diggs is 4th
Nelius replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not following actually, what's the reason? -
Cole Beasley insurance. I like him too. They need to keep that weapons cupboard stocked in case anybody misses time so it makes sense to try to figure out how to keep him.

Eric Moulds giving back to Buffalo
Nelius replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. I think some may have thought you were exaggerating by the reactions but I even remember a Sports Illustrated article during his peak that argued that Moulds was right there with those exact two. It's not a crazy thought, it's been discussed before. He's like the Allen Robinson of his generation - nobody really talks about him but the players and hardcore fans know he's one of the most talented dudes at his position. -
I'm not sure how to properly dodge these Covid landmines without sending things off the rails despite it still being the most important NFL story out there, so will try to keep it short and general: 1.) I thought Cole explained himself nicely. The young player thing was a solid piece of info, I don't doubt that at all. 2.) Considering how strict the NFL has been about protocol, I do agree that Josh not wearing a mask means exactly what others think it does. If he was in the same lane as Cole, he'd need to wear mask as well. Nobody's going to let enforcement slip right now just because it's Josh Allen. Everything but football aside, this is a very good thing.

Giants cut Kelvin Benjamin for what??
Nelius replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like I've been pretty good at dodging spin when it comes to most things in life lately but I seriously don't know what to believe anymore with this. I feel like we're all being taken. So I know the food thing was trolling but was it all actually trolling? Multiple talking sports heads have cut the food bit but are still reporting that he stormed off the field after about a 10 minute argument, and the footage seems legit and to correspond with that. But it's still just a blurry clip of him walking off the field, so who knows. Even that nj.com link shared above seems fake. It's all about being overweight and "hoaxes" and basically just run of the mill Kelvin Benjamin jokes. Is there any serious report about this out there? If that NJ.com article is it I'll take it, but it looks some 22 year old Barstool bro spun it up on Wordpress in an hour. -
Wow you might be right and you certainly sound like you know a heck of a lot more than drunk pre search engines ramblings from 35 years ago. I vaguely feel like I remember the smoke stacks so that might be it! I haven't been in the area for 20 years, but for the two people that may be curious, I pulled up a map and was wrong when I said Route 20. It's actually Route 39, and I'm speaking specifically of the view across Lake Erie just as you come out of Forestville heading west, about a mile or so past "Sheridan HIll". It's pretty high up by Western NY standards and you can definitely see something.

Who should be our #1 RB? Singletary or Moss?
Nelius replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fair enough, I appreciate the insight. I think you're right, although he did see some random decent ypc spikes last year and still finished with 4.4. I mean 4.4 ypc is Ezekiel Elliott for the past 3 years! Jokes aside, Singletary's kind of a weird back, going through his game log is kind of like 1 step forward, 1 or .75 steps back, repeatedly for 2 years now. It's enough to be skeptical, granted, but also enough to just throw him to the wolves in year 3 and see what happens, imo. -
Gabriel's Gate. Off the grid, but I had incredible wings at Whiskey Hill Saloon in Cassadaga, NY about a decade ago a couple of times. No idea if that's still the case, but they were good enough to remember. I remember them having strangely good bar food but it was always made by a rotating random dude in nearly complete darkness which was a little sketch. Come to think of it 20 years later that may be one of the most consistently dark bars I've ever encountered.

Toronto no, but pretty sure you can see Hamilton from Route 20 in Chautauqua County, Sheridan/Silver Creek area. It has some elevation and you can see a ton of concentrated city-like lights across the lake. Plus a drunk uncle told me that when I was like 9, so I've always believed it even if it's horribly incorrect, and now I'm passing that beer soaked 80's geography on to this thread.

Who's our next joique bell for RB's this off season
Nelius replied to Sugar High JA17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He might be the best guard in the league, or at least it seems like he's currently respected as such. He's an animal and everybody in the league seems to know it. You've got to hope Baker continues to be inconsistent and weird because that team is beyond ready in the trenches. -
Who should be our #1 RB? Singletary or Moss?
Nelius replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you got to give Singletary the lion's share until he fails. The general sense seems to be that he's just not the guy, and that may be so, but he's averaged 4.8 ypc in his career, great pass blocking, is tough as nails, etc. It's very possible that he's pretty good but just hasn't had the chance to really put up gaudy stats consistently yet. He only saw 10-15 touches most games last year, I love Moss's potential, but I think you need to squeeze Devin for all he's got this year. If he's mediocre this season then move on, maybe even pivot more to Moss a handful of games in. -
Tate Martell - 9 years in College. 2 years left.
Nelius replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in College Football
I see it's been addressed that a ton of this movement was before he even started college and that he's only 23, but yes I agree on the face punchability. -
12-5. Rough slog at times, maybe some injuries, but we shake out as a top team by end of season.

Are the Bills are a "regional" team?
Nelius replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those maps are awful. Denver and Seattle always have the largest visual, geographical reach, but what's the head count for the folks in Alaska tuning into the Seahawks? Or the number of the wild hill people of Wyoming and Montana watching the Donkeys on some newfangled TV that they scavenged while searching for water? Very small, but it's always represented by a giant blob as if a quarter of the country loves the Broncos. -
Share Your Random Acts of "Go Bills!"
Nelius replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Usually just throw them out in grocery stores and other common places if I see any gear. I typically get a slightly surprised huh followed by a smile and oh uh huh yeah, go Bills. I think I respond the exact same way. Had a weird one come my way years ago in Denver where I was walking to the neighborhood Bills bar. It was a September game so it was still about 95 degrees out with blazing hot Denver sun. I had a Kelly jersey draped over my shoulder because it was stupid hot and I think I was running late as usual (11am games suck). I crossed paths with 3 Bills bros walking the opposite direction who gave me the customary "Go Bills" but then got super weird about me not wearing the jersey. They kind of stopped and squared me up with repeated "put on the jersey, bro" etc. and I just sort of awkwardly walked around them. Joke was on them as they were clearly heading to the wrong bar, but thats probably my most odd example. -
Diggs #3 overall WR entering 2021 according to ESPN
Nelius replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think #3 is fair, although you could argue for anything in the region of probably 1-4. I would not consider Davante Adams the #1 receiver in the league, personally. I feel like he's been a tad overrated for years because Rodgers, and that he's hovering more around the 3-5 region. Hopkins should be #1. And then maybe Diggs. Julio Jones still exists and is a legendary freak. Mike Evans always goes underrated and yet he may set multiple records if he keeps his pace up. It's tough after Hopkins, but I definitely wouldn't call Adams the clear choice above all of them. -
Buffalo's Four Major Sports - Mount Rushmore
Nelius replied to bighorn_zilla's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After re-reading the original post it seems it's cool to deviate outside of the actual professional teams, in which case I change my basketball vote to Uncle Cliffy Cliff Robinson and his headband. An NBA legend RIP -
Buffalo's Four Major Sports - Mount Rushmore
Nelius replied to bighorn_zilla's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like you have to go with The Dominator for hockey. He's simply one of the best to ever do it. LaFontaine's 148 point season was incredible and I was always a huge fan. Set the record for an American-born player, although I'm not sure if that still stands. Probably does I would think. Shame about the concussions because if he had put together another season or two like that, or simply have contributed until he was 36-38 years old like other NHL legends then he'd be in the conversation with Hasek and Perreault. Kelly and McAdoo. and then I guess Spahn, sure -
Ha great gif usage, considering. One of the greatest AS shows of all time.
