  1. That's what keeps you up at night? Can we trade lives? On a serious note, it's the staff's job to figure out the best five in camp and where they belong. It may take some time for them to get used to the tendencies of the adjacent linemen, but I think it'll sort itself out. Get some rest.
  2. Fant will certainly be a first rounder. Wouldn't be shocked if he went before Hock. The NFL loves UPSIDE. I prefer Hockenson, but Fant is seen as having a higher ceiling. Irv Smith is highly unlikely to go in the first and could potentially fall to the 4th. I think 3rd is most likely. The guy is 6'3 and not much of a blocker. I think he's an intriguing prospect, but the concerns are there and the upside isn't great enough to justify a first round grade.
  3. Bakula balked at the idea after their run in during the filming of Necessary Roughness. He will be playing the quirky new neighbor on ALF.
  4. As fans, the last thing we want to do is admit our team lost fair and square. There's ALWAYS an excuse. I'm as guilty as the next guy, but I don't think partying had much of anything to do with the Bills SB losses nor do I think we lost the first one because we took the Giants lightly. Belichick devised a masterful game plan and a kick sailed a few feet in the wrong direction. Additionally, Thurman's wardrobe malfunction had nothing to do with the Redskins loss. Sometimes, it is what it is.
  5. I appreciate the fact that you're rooting for a guy working hard to overcome personal obstacles. That being said, it's entirely possible he flew under the radar because there wasn't much interest league wide. We tend to hyper-focus on Bills acquisitions. In the grand scheme of things, he's not LIKELY to be an impact player. I think the odds are 50/50 he even makes the team. The same was said of Robert Foster so you never know.
  6. The jet sweeps went from trash to effective when they started giving the ball to McKittrick and not Zay.
  7. I was a HUGE Rob Johnson fan and he didn't acknowledge my existence in response to an autograph request. This was at a joint TC with the Eagles in 1999. Antoine Winfield was the most fan friendly athlete I've ever encountered. JK put up up with my incessant questions when I was working at a shoe store and he was the grand opening "guest of honor." I once saw Barry Bonds turn down an autograph request from a kid in a wheelchair just to sit in a limo. Now THAT was bad. I was personally trying to get Deion's sig, but it didn't happen. That being said, I've come to realize that these interactions are really not important; especially the negative experiences. Some guys are jerks. Some guys like fans. Some guys don't. They all have good days and bad. These people are not our friends. We support what they do on the playing field. Taking it personally is definitely not the way to go.
  8. I was obviously being facetious, but you're gonna have to explain that one. I don't recall a 5 linebacker formation. I recall nickel/dime etc., but not 5 LB's.
  9. Not quite sure how that squares when they just rated him as the third best tight end in THIS draft behind Fant and Wilson. I know the production is a major factor, but it's somewhat odd. I suppose the ranking that has him third is strictly combine based. Also curious as to which TE was rated number 1 in that 10 year span.
  10. Wouldn't even need to get sacks. Just use them as shot blockers. Be like lining Mutombo up next to Mark Eaton. They can't catch it if never reaches the receiver.
  11. Yes. The Bills are already in talks with Paul Johnson to join the staff as assistant TO the OC/wishbone coordinator.
  12. I think that would be a distinct possibility, but the guy is 6'5 with a huge wingspan and demonstrated the ability to shed blockers at the collegiate level despite his lack of bulk. He's obviously athletic enough to drop into coverage. Just hasn't done it. I wouldn't be at all disappointed with the pick. The coaching staff would have to be creative WRT his role because he is a unique player. But if you think he's got elite pass rush ability, he should be strongly considered. I've always wanted to see the Bills land a Jevon Kearse type player and Burns is close to that.
  13. Valid points. I would have liked to see how many times he could throw up 225. I still like him as a prospect/Lorax replacement. The questions are there but so is the talent.
  14. If you can't tell why it's different THIS time, you just don't get it.
  15. But Burns is on a lighter side and has great athleticism so he's a shoe in to bust like the guy we took 10 YEARS AGO. Based on some chatter, I'm starting to think the Bills have strong interest in Mr. Burns. I'm fully on board. The defense is a pass rusher away from being dominant and he's got a ton of the "P" word.
  16. The Peterman ERA? I'm not sure you know what that word means.
  17. I'm thinking we take White in the first and make Milano an OUTSIDE outside linebacker. I could easily see McDermott abandoning his entire defensive philosophy and switching to a 2-5 scheme.
  18. If we're being honest, the last 25 years have been the inverse. I don't know if Beane is the best GM in the league or the worst, quite frankly. I think we'll know quite a bit more post 2019.
  19. 4 of Michigan's 7 losses came to 2 teams in the final four. Kind of an oddity. I hope Michigan State and TT both find a way to lose in their match-up.
  20. Right. He played at a big time program, wasn't a standout, and is small/slow. It made no sense. Proehl was also a dud, but at least there was some intrigue. Like small possibility he'd be a 7th round gem. Either way, I feel decent about the small FAST receivers we acquired last season in Foster and to a lesser extent, McKittrick.
  21. Yeah. I didn't like those picks with ESB available. He didn't set the world on fire with GB, but he's the kind of guy you take late. A small/slow guy like Proehl/McCloud becomes a player every once in a blue moon, but it was the wrong choice. I actually liked the Proehl pick more than the McCloud pick. There's just nothing there.
  22. I wouldn't dislike DK at 9, but I disagree with the notion that the defense doesn't need upgrades/potential replacements, namely pass rushers. The Bills were actually middle of the pack in the T.O.P category, so I don't believe that excuses the issues the defense had in the sack/red zone/turnover department. I think they're another pass rusher away from being "set."
  23. Ray Ray is McKenzie without the speed. I never understood that pick. Small/slow is not a great combination for an NFL receiver. He gone.
  24. It's a bit odd that the OL FA signees are large but more proficient pass blockers than run blockers. I think we need to draft a straight up run blocker in the first 4 rounds. Whether it be a first/second round guy or a developmental player. Our scheme was awful under Castillo, so Rob Johnson would pretty much have to be an upgrade.
  25. I am not convinced Allen will pan out, but this analysis of his attitude is spot on. Awe shucks with the media. This is my field between the lines. That attitude could conceivably differentiate him from other QB's with similar issues. There's definitely hope.
