  1. As much as I like White, I don't see this happening even if he somehow gets past Detroit. I don't believe Beane/McDermott made that enormous investment into Edmunds only to shift him outside nor do I see them taking a MLB in the top ten and moving HIM outside.
  2. I'm all for having a good time with threads, especially in the offseason. The main issue I have with this particular thread is that it's NOT funny. Yes, Peterman is a good dude and all, but I'd probably still laugh if it was creative or interesting. My view on distasteful jokes is pretty simple; if you're gonna do it, it better be good.
  3. Tremendous mix of optimism and reality. You expect good things from Allen but aren't planning built in excuses if things go awry. Very well done. The offensive talent surrounding Allen does not remotely resemble the Chiefs, so nobody is expecting 50 or even 35 TD passes. However, the talent is also at a level in which a franchise QB is perfectly capable of succeeding. We should EXPECT marked improvement in decision making, which will result in a higher comp. pct. and a more efficient overall game.
  4. I've come around a bit on Allen, but if he sees a DRAMATIC decline in his passing stats.....I don't know. That would be pretty cataclysmic and possibly lead to serious questions about his future in the league. I expect to see his rushing numbers decline as teams gameplan for that and his passing numbers increase with an improved supporting cast and a year of experience. If Allen is the guy, we should expect to see the more common second year leap QB's are making all over the league.
  5. He's not a true difference maker and that's what I'm looking for at 9. Also, if you factor in need, the Bills already have a space eater. They need more of a dynamic playmaker along the defensive line. He's a good player. Not particularly interested.
  6. How many 9th picks do we have? Seems like we're gonna end up with about 10 top prospects with one draft pick!
  7. This is an affront to comedy. The Peterman jokes are sooooo played. Let that man live.
  8. That makes a lot more sense(to me) than the idea that McDermott specifically had Allen pegged as his pick a full year in advance. We're talking about a first year COACH. I don't think he/they wanted to commit to a QB with a lame duck GM in place.
  9. I'm not saying we are NOT a prime candidate to break-out this season, but the answer practically writes itself. It was a leading question and Kiper responded in kind. NFL analysis is not even his thing. It's cool to hear a positive take from a talking head, but I don't put much, if any, stock in it.
  10. Look at the stupid Browns trading for OBJ! The fact that it made the Browns better will really only sink in when the Bills face them this year. Cognitive dissonance at it's finest.
  11. I REALLY doubt it my man. I'd give it about a billion to 1 odds. McDermott was a first year HC trying to figure out a thousand different things for season 1. There is no way he spent enough time scouting the 2018 draft prospects to determine his QB of the future who he may or may not even be in position to draft. This is out there.
  12. We STILL have a well below average WR room. The last thing I'm concerned about is which player works himself off the roster. JMO.
  13. The one we have now is hooked into the basic coaxial cable thingy on the TV, so it would just be TV if that's the type of antenna you have.
  14. The Bills are "targeting" predictions are getting really old. There's been about 5 such proclamations. Their predictions appear to have about as much credibility as MINE. I'm sure the Bills like Oliver. I'm sure the Bills are intrigued by DK and Gary. I'm sure the Bills like Burns upside. I'm sure the Bills like J Williams technique and J Taylor's size. I have NO idea who will fall and which player they will ultimately choose. Nor do they.
  15. Anderson is a "threat." He has some games where he does nothing, but he'll break your back when he goes off. He's not a guy you feed the ball to on 8 yard sticks like an Enunwa. I'm partial to "threats" when it comes to WR's. Anderson>>>>>Enunwa. It's silly to think otherwise. I would hate to see the Jets acquire Green. Why the H*** not US? Also HIGHLY doubt Anderson would be part of any such deal. If that were that case, I'd be fine with it other than the fact that we should be trying to acquire top end skill players.
  16. Antenna's are tricky. I had no luck back in PA, but have very few problems here in Vegas. I doubt it's the remote because even the DTV remote allows you to change HDMI/INPUT. The one I have now was a little more expensive, but I can't remember the model and all it say's is "Made in Taiwan." I would take the Antenna back and try a different one, and just return that as well if it doesn't work. Like I said, they are tricky. No idea if this one would have worked back in PA.
  17. I want no part of Gary, but he's a better prospect than Winovich. Winovich was a big time playmaker at UM, but I wouldn't take him before the FOURTH round. He's 6'3 256 with short arms and a 4.59 40. He may have overperformed at the combine, but I wouldn't entirely agree with @YoloinOhio's assessment that he killed it. I think it's more a case of exceeding low testing expectations. I will say he definitely improved his stock, which I glean Yolo was driving at. Similar to Winovich, it's not that I wouldn't take either of these players; it's that I wouldn't take them where they are projected to go. If Gary was there in the 2nd and Winovich was there in the 4th, I'd be all about it. That's not going to happen. I saw Gary take off too many plays and rarely if ever change a game, let alone a series, especially against top competition.
  18. Same. I won't get into Star, but Harry showed very little and Phillips is not an impact player. Hughes is very good, but he's getting up there. Murphy is always hurt, Lawson doesn't get to the QB, and Eddie is JAG. Gotta address the DL.
  19. Yeah. AB didn't want to come. Beane wouldn't have been willing to deal the picks if he wasn't willing to cough up a few more mil. Doesn't make sense. I do applaud his effort in acquiring that elite talent we're talking about in this thread.
  20. Didn't read through the entire thread to see if it was mentioned, but Amazon's Sneaky Pete is worth watching. Kind of low key without constant explosions and such. Lots of complicated characters without clear cut good guys and bad guys. If you like subtle and hate gratuitous shenanigans, this is solid. They did 2 seasons. Not sure if a 3rd will happen.
  21. Based on roster construction, I fully agree. I'd be fine with 9-7 with a playoff spot. Overall though, I don't feel like that should be viewed as a major victory for the regime when you look around the league.
  22. Sling is good, but you should consider YouTubeTV. They offer local channels without the need for an antenna and they have quite a few promos.
  23. I see Satellite dishes all over town on the side of houses. He'll, we've got one. I've recently started wondering if they're worth anything. I don't think anyone would notice they were gone. 5G isn't even a necessity for the change to occur. We've got YouTube.TV, Prime, Hulu, and Netflix.(Probably too much). Very rarely have any streaming issues. It's sad in a way because I hate to see things become obsolete, but adapt or die I suppose.
  24. Jets opened as 3.5 point favorites FWIW. 8-8/9-7 wouldn't be cataclysmic and certainly wouldn't cost anyone their job, but it wouldn't be "successful" per se. As you said, look at all the teams that turn it around in a year or two. Why not us?
