  1. Same. But I really wonder if we can stand pat at 40 if he's the target. I'm thinking if they really like him, it may be wise to MAKE SURE they get him.
  2. No. But thanks for the reminder. I was really high on Ferrell before the poking, prodding, and digging of the draft process. I still think he's got a chance to be a very good player, but I ultimately viewed him as a mid to late first. The more I read of Oliver and the role he was asked to play at Houston, the more I was interested. In retrospect, it's really not a surprise he and the coach had some issues. It was obviously a shock when Oakland took Ferrell at 4, but the Raiders gonna RaIder. VERY happy with the Oliver selection.
  3. I don't know what more the regime needs to do to prove this to the base. They brought in Jordan Phillips, who was considered a distraction in Miami. They've kept Shady, who's had some issues. And they tried to get AB!!!!!! To top it off, McDermott has flat out said he's not in the business of fielding a team of choirboys. Straight from the horse's mouth. They'll do their due diligence on off field issues like any sane team. There's a huge difference between football character and "character." There's also the fact that their livelihoods hinge on WINNING FOOTBALL GAMES! Frank Clark is a tremendous FOOTBALL player. His issues do not represent a non starter. This would be a terrific addition if the price is right.
  4. The Raiders debacle was a game we should have won and eliminated the Bills from playoff contention. The Peterman debacle was almost comical and I really didn't expect the Bills to win that game anyways.
  5. You can't coach 50 TD's and left handed passes. The kid is a stud and would have been a stud anywhere. There's no reason to suspend belief in order to suit a narrative. If Josh is the real deal, it won't matter.
  6. Wow. A) He's out of the NFL. B) He's acknowledging something he knows doesn't paint him in a flattering light WITHOUT throwing McDermott under the bus.(It's HIGHLY likely that he was not even given the opportunity to draft a QB) C) Strange flex.
  7. I don't believe Whaley had the latitude to draft a QB based on the reporting I've seen. Not sure it would matter who the Chiefs were targeting. According to the article, there were several teams interested, but nobody was willing to outbid the Chiefs. It's also possible that a few GM's would want to retroactively have been all in on Mahomes.
  8. I enjoyed all of our match-ups with the Packers equally. Nothing but good clean fun with both sides holding their heads high after the contest. If I had to choose one, it would be the 2000 week 2 tilt. Coming off a redemptive victory over the Titans, RJ connected with Jay Riemersma on several occasions. The defense held Favre at bay and the Bills moved to 2-0. I was pleased that the Bills came out on the winning end, but also felt kind of bad that the Packers had to lose. They finished 9-7 and that loss to the Bills may have cost them a spot in the playoffs. If not for a bevy of injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the Bills may very well have been a contender. The loss at Tampa sealed their fate. The weather was beautiful!
  9. Appreciate the research. My issue would be this. Davis is lined up at WLB in every formation(outside of the anomalous stacked left side). Kind of odd how they've chosen to use Milano in a different role than Davis, but you have to respect the adaptability. I feel like drafting White would leave Milano on the bench quite a bit considering the frequency of 2 LB sets. Not a fan of that aspect of this proposition. I would still prefer they draft Oliver or Metcalf if all three were available(which they won't be), but this info is certainly interesting and demonstrates White's potential role in a McD scheme.
  10. It FEELS like we're not talking about football anymore when it comes to Josh Rosen. I don't think he's a very good QB. He's going to have to improve his ability to slide in the pocket BIGTIME if he's going to make it. When he vocalizes his belief in himself and is "annoyed" that it's been publicized the Cards are going to replace him after one season. MEH!! I get it. Anyone would be annoyed.
  11. It's not so much that DirecTV sucks as much as it is antiquated technology and a changing market. They had their time in the sun, but the run is over. I also remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever; a dish on the side of your house that brought hundreds of channels into the living room. But times change as they say. Not sure who they is, but it's gotta be somebody..I think.
  12. For some odd reason, I vividly remember Chris Berman doing some schtick where he whittled down all the QB's and only Flutie was left. The Seahawks game you reference was right around Christmas so I'm sure it was a holiday theme. And for some odd reason, I never really cared for all the attention Flutie received. It just didn't feel like the "BILLS." We'd dominate defensively, win 13-10 and the only highlight they'd show is the one great play by Doogie. I've grown up.....a little.
  13. Ah. I do remember Flutie's last game with Buffalo. Pretty sure it was meaningless, but fun nevertheless. That was a LONG time ago! Maybe I'm too hung up on that Raider's debacle during Orton's run.
  14. I wouldn't expect the curmudgeon DC to throw Gary under the bus, but he would KNOW better than a casual observer. It appeared to me like Gary did not give max effort at all times, but I have no idea what he was tasked with on any given play. I will say this; if he had all that talent and was asked to simply pave the way for others, that seems like gross mismanagement by Brown.
  15. What you're advocating for is essentially using Devin White as a big safety. Not the worst idea ever. The guy had 8.5 sacks in 3 seasons at LSU so he certainly hasn't proven to be a great pass rusher. I guess it depends on your defensive philosophy. The plan you're espousing would entail sacrificing pass rush for more coverage. I prefer a more aggressive defense, but to each their own.
  16. I'd swap picks with Seattle for Clark, but I'm not sure that'll get it done. As others have mentioned, Shaq is not desirable trade bait considering his impending salary and very limited production. It'd be a big time score to land either Clark for a swap(or 2nd) or McCoy for a 4th, etc. The draft capital would be worth it in both cases. We're not gonna find a better pass rusher than Clark at 9, let alone 40. But you never capitulate in this type of deal. Swap or 2nd!
  17. It sounds more like you want to be a GM than analyze the Bills situation. McDermott is not going to change his entire defensive personnel alignment because of one linebacker(or any other circumstance.)
  18. You'd have to ask Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott because the ENTIRE premise of my response if the belief that they have Edmunds pegged as their MLB.
  19. So if he didn't have to transition to a new position in the NFL, what's the deal with the comparison to White? Bennett was 6'3 and built to play OLB. White is 6'0 FLAT and built to play in the middle. If I were the GM, I would have no problem taking White and shifting Edmunds outside. My original statement which I stand by is that they will not make such a move. Edmunds is their MLB and that isn't going to change any time soon.
  20. I sincerely appreciate all the work you put into your posts. Having said that, it SOUNDS like you may be creating a built in excuse in the event Josh doesn't take that leap. When you look around the league, other QB's have taken a huge step forward with not only new players, but new coach's as well. He's got stability with the coordinator and the team has an entire offseason to "gel." Realistic expectations are 25+ TD's, 3500 yards passing and a completion percentage very close to 60. I don't think that's too much to ask. With a year of experience+an improved line+more reliable targets, that's the baseline IMO. It's all going to hinge on Allen's ability to improve his read/recognition skills and take the gimmie when that's the correct option. Teams are going to dare him to beat them with the short game and use a LB to spy. It's all going to be there for the taking. There's no questioning Josh's desire so fingers crossed.
  21. That's the biggie for me. The Bills tend to fare very poorly on the WC. Only wins that come to mind are AZ like 7 years ago and at the Rams 2 or 3 years ago. Not only that, the WC swings potentially affect the following week. Probably not to a great degree, but I'd have to think to SOME degree. The Bronco game really stands out for me. I would fully expect an L at the Denver Broncos present Invesco Sports Authority Field at Mile High. At home, I think the Bills beat em. One game can make a huge difference for a team that could very well be a borderline playoff team.
  22. Milano's broken leg is not the kind of injury that will affect him long term. He's going to be on the field as the WLB. That much I'm certain of.
