  1. All these twitchy receivers going ahead of Butler(and Metcalf). The emphasis on height/size are definitely on the outs with all the spread formations.
  2. Yeah. I'm not a huge Butler guy. Partial to speed at the position, so Isabella would be more up my alley. I'd prefer to go up and snag(what I believe) are the two highest ceiling WR's remaining, but would understand the rationale if Beane doesn't see much separation.
  3. I would love to see them move up and grab Campbell or Metcalf. I think there's a big drop off in potential when you get past these two.
  4. Dude. I've been planning on watching that film for weeks now. Thanks alot!
  5. It's really hard to understand his bench press reps.(19) He looks like a guy who'd easily throw up 25 plus. One negative number could mean a number of things. Anyone have a positive explanation? At any rate, he's exactly the "type" of mauler the line needs. We've got a number of quality players, but the majority specialize in pass pro.
  6. Yeah. We'll have to agree to disagree. The 4.6 40 isn't really my issue. The greatest WR of all time ran a 4.6. It's also not an indication that he has no chance of being successful. I guess I'd prefer to see a better time for this type of player. I'd be much more comfortable with Smith in the 3rd. My HUNCH is that they'll go in a different direction and end up taking Nauta in the 4th or 5th round. Should be a fun night.
  7. Had the Bills decided to move on from Josh Allen after one season, would you expect him to graciously bow out and thank the organization for giving him a shot? I doubt it. He unfollowed the team on Social Media! I don't even like Rosen as a QB, but some of the personal attacks seem way over the top.
  8. I would say good to outstanding for a traditional TE. At 6'2 240, he's anything but a conventional tight end. I have read reports that his blocking is decent, but this is not a guy I want to see the Bills use a 2nd round pick on. JMO.
  9. Was not a fan pre-draft and remain underwhelmed. He had a solid rookie season, but I could see his INT's soar as they open up the playbook.
  10. I'm not sure I get the Irv Smith love. That would definitely be a disappointing pick from my perspective. He's 6'2 242 with short arms and a 4.6 40 time. He strikes me as a poor man's Jared Cook. Age was not Cook's only issue in free agency. The advantage with the top TE's is that they're multi-dimensional. You don't get that kind of edge with an Irv Smith.
  11. Not with NE. Kind of noteworthy that the Pats last 1st round WR was Terry Glenn. That was 23 years ago. The only drafted WR that even comes to mind is Pedelman, who was a 7th rounder. Have to consider that a grand slam pick. I think they've whiffed on a few, but it's not something you'd hear much about as they continue to chug along with guys like Hogan. It's tough to say they haven't drafted well because they haven't drafted many. Clearly they view Harry as a top tier player and WR as a major need because it goes against their traditional draft strategy to allocate the top pick to a wideout.
  12. As much as everyone wants a receiving tight end with upside, I still believe there's something to the fact that Nauta was one of the only tight ends they brought in for an official visit. Not sure if some of the bigger names eventually got the invite since the initial list, but I know Nauta was the first. It seems a little strange that a mid to late round guy would get an OV if the team wasn't really high on him.
  13. Translation. We're gonna pray this situation somehow gets pushed to page 2 because we don't really want to cut him.
  14. I will concede that the pick was generally well received, but certainly not universally. Some of us thought it was an awful pick with McKinnie on the board.
  15. Yeah. Oliver took exception to his coach trying to rip his jacket off on the sidelines. Clearly a bad apple.
  16. My thoughts as well. It's clear that Allen, Edmunds, and White are disgusted with the pick!
  17. For sure. "Juice" is not antithetical to football character. As a matter of fact, it's a very good thing if properly harnessed. Look at the 90's Bills. They had "characters" out the wazoo! It's really the last time you could say that about a Bills team. As an aside, it was awesome to see a guy so enthused to be drafted by Buffalo. I know a lot of the negative pub is overblown, but Oliver was just brimming with enthusiasm. Very refreshing.
  18. The Bills 3-4 scheme was obviously a bit different and Bruce was an ELITE talent, so yeah; it's not an ironclad rule. A 3-4 end CAN be an edge. Talley vs Bennett. Exactly. I feel like the answer to the question is relatively simple. Edge players are primarily pass rushers.
  19. Right. You would never label Pittsburgh DE's as "edge" players. Going back to the 90's, they had the great pass rushing duo of Green/Lloyd. Those guys were edge players at the time simply labeled OLB's. They're in the midst of switching things up from the 3-4, but I'm speaking more broadly about their defense over the past 30 years. Edge is a more descriptive term. Not quite sure why some folks have a problem with it.
  20. Same. Metcalf is the guy that would excite me the most, but Campbell is 2. I had to watch him torch my college team. Wouldn't mind having him on "my" side. I'm just leery of the AJ Brown's of the world. Seems like a quality player, but we've drafted quite a few of those guys and they never seem to pan out. Josh Reed and Zay come to mind. In the 2nd round, I'm swinging for the fences with an "electric weapon," especially considering they brought in "quality" guys in FA'cy.
  21. The look on Beane's face is priceless. "I kind of get what you're saying, but definitely not the way you're saying it." Certainly not anything that will affect the football team, but he may want to avoid metaphors in the future.
  22. They actually ran the EXACT same 40 time, which is kind of odd. 4.67. It's not that Jones is immobile; it's that he doesn't really do anything exceptionally well. I'm not a huge Trubisky fan, but there's never been any questions about arm strength. A guy like Jones (IMO) is only a first round pick if he's super accurate. That's not the case. Time will tell, but I just don't see it. Glad it's the Giants problem and not ours.
  23. Whoever let him participate in those drills should never work again. I guess maybe he took it upon himself, but you would think he'd have someone around to tell him it'd be a big mistake. I'm almost positive he's not on the board right now had he just skipped it.
  24. I'm in the same boat. By the time we were on the clock, it just made too much sense. Now had Josh Allen(defense) fallen, I think I might have been a bit conflicted. It was exactly what I wanted Beane to do, so now I'm a bit concerned as well.
  25. I'm just extremely confounded by that pick. From what I saw of Jones, he doesn't have a GREAT arm, he's not particularly accurate, and also not REALLY mobile. The accuracy issue really stands out for me. If you're big and fast(Josh Allen, Newton), you have a chance to get away with it because of physical blessings. I don't see how Jones has that same margin for error when he wasn't born with those gifts.
