  1. I'm the furthest thing from a Josh Allen fanboy, but one distinct difference is release. If you watch TJ, he takes forever to get rid of the ball because he's got a windup like Tim Lincecum. There's just no way a QB can hack it in the NFL if he takes that long to get rid of the football.
  2. Kroft and Knox are the locks. Then you've got a battle between Fisher, Croom, and Sweeney. Sweeney is a great PS candidate and Croom is the one top tier athlete of the group. And that other advantage having something to do with nepotism. That leaves Fisher as the likely odd man out. Fisher has a bigtime uphill battle here. He's gonna really have to impress in camp.
  3. Shady is only one of those four adjectives (elusive), so I don't get the comparison. It's entirely possible to watch the film and still not like the pick. That doesn't mean he won't pan out, but it's a little silly to dismiss divergent opinions because you personally liked what you saw.
  4. That's good stuff, but I'm partial to the reactions from fans who pause for a second, realize they have never heard of the player, and then proceed to celebrate like they won the lottery.
  5. Right. And using Hunt as an example, he proved exactly what he could do(as a player). I feel like people have VERY low expectations for Singletary. The way I look at it, you spend a third round pick on a RB because you believe he's going to be the man. RB's are a dime a dozen and be found in many different ways that don't include high draft capital. If he's not the primary back in 2020, it wasn't a good pick IMO. We WILL need new backs in 2020. Gore and Shady will be gone. Yeldon. Meh. My hope is that Singletary is a bellcow and the backs we need are entirely complimentary. If a Kamara happens to be available, that's kind of a different story. He's essentially a receiver out of the backfield. Every team would love a guy like that, but it's more of a luxury than a need. It was really the only pick I didn't like FWIW. Feel pretty good overall about the draft.
  6. What's silly is the idea that it's implausible for Zay to not be part of the 2019 Bills. You've got Brown, Beasley, and Foster as locks. Then you've got McKenzie who I believe will make the team as a "weapon" and Andre Roberts who should make the team as a return man. If Duke Williams or David Sills really make moves in camp, it's completely possible that Zay is the odd man out. I wouldn't go so far as to predict it, but it's CERTAINLY not out of the question.
  7. Definitely very thin, but that's pretty easy to fix with proper strength and conditioning. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up making the squad.
  8. Ok. What is it you like about Singletary?
  9. Not a huge fan of all these UB UDFA's. I'm not privy to inside info, but it APPEARS like they may not have scoured the wire as much as you'd like. Like the Sills pickup for sure. We shall see. They nailed Foster and Wallace last year, so they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
  10. Yeah. I feel like Beane put himself out there a bit with this pick. If he doesn't work out, it's probably gonna get more critique than the average 3rd round guy who doesn't pan out.
  11. Roosevelt and Haddad. I think at this point, it makes more sense considering we're not talking about using a draft pick. I'm just not really expecting big things from any of these 3.
  12. I wouldn't define sticking as remaining on the roster for a season and then winding up driving for UPS. That's pretty much what I expect for Ray Ray. We struck gold with Foster. The Proehl/Ray Ray/Foster angle would be really short sighted. I'm talking big picture. It seems like there has been just as many if not more UDFA receivers "stick" in comparison to 6/7th round picks. The sample size is a little unfair to the draft picks because there are far more UDFA's. Overall, the point I'm trying to get across is that it doesn't really concern me that they didn't take a flier on a late round WR. Wouldn't have minded seeing one taken earlier, but it is what it is. There will be UDFA's that can contribute. It's up to regime to identify those guys. Another Foster is unlikely, but you gotta dig.
  13. It seems like every few years, there's a fringy UB NFL prospect that people really want to see the Bills pick up. The only one of these guys that panned out was James Starks. I get that it would be cool to grab a "local," but the track record is not good. Mack doesn't count.
  14. Not sure if statistics bear it out, but it would seem the odds of a UDFA/6th/7th round pick sticking are roughly the same. Maybe a draft pick has a better chance of making the roster year 1, but long term, doubt it's much different.
  15. Moose! Simple joke. I will say that I trust Beane with these late round D picks more than I do their offensive picks. He's certainly got a shot if he can play. Outside of Hughes, our ends can easily be pushed out of a job for the right youngin.
  16. Tyre Brady. WR. Marshall. You can't teach speed but you also can't teach STRONG hands.
  17. Another FULLBACK?!! We need pass rushers. Didn't happen early in the draft. Either they didn't view it as a top priority or BPA never met pick. He's got some upside and there is certainly an opportunity for an "edge" to unseat either Shaq or Murphy.
  18. Probably wanna just use google AFTER the draft. Be tough to find through a search at this point considering there's no way to know what the list will be.
  19. They used a 3rd round pick on a running back. Singletary is supposed to be the guy. I would be shocked if Shady OR Gore were on the team in 2020. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be shocked if one of them wasn't on the team in 2019. That being said, we shouldn't need to draft a running back in the top 3rd of the draft if Singletary is the right guy. Use the Chiefs for example. They drafted Hunt in the 4th to be the bellcow. Had it not been for the off field issues, they may have needed more backs, but they wouldn't need to be drafting one relatively early. When you spend a 3rd on a RB, the expectations are pretty high.
  20. Right. No reason whatsover to redshirt a running back. If Singletary can ball, he'll ball right out of the chute.
  21. A 3rd round pick is a relatively large commitment to a RB. I think they must view Singletary as an eventual 3 down back. It's not great value otherwise. I wouldn't be particularly happy if RB is still a need next offseason.
  22. My big hope going into these final days is that we take Tyre Brady in the 6th or 7th. He's going to make some team very happy. Won't wow anyone with speed, but he's got the best hands in the draft. I see him as a tremendous big slot and perfect fit when you've got guys like Brown and Foster on the outside. He'd very possibly push Zay Jones off the roster, but that's fine with me.
  23. Right. I loved the first two picks. At first glance, I'm not a fan of what they did in round 3. Knox is a nice athlete, but he's never done much on the field. Singletary was ultra productive against non elite competition, but the size/speed/lack of receptions IS a concern. Chiming in with reasonable opinions does not equal whining in any, way, shape or form.
  24. But he looks very "mature" for his age, so he'll fit right in. Gonna have to do more research on this guy, but we did need to get a young back. Certainly not an exciting pick and I must say I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of WR/TE.
  25. Right? People are acting like we're replacing the Kyle that existed 3 or 4 years ago.
