  1. I didn't notice that, but it could be that BD was trying to keep it simple for a rookie QB. Definitely need to mix up the cadence going forward if that was indeed the case.
  2. I agree with the premise, but not the remedy. I think Josh's issues have more to do with overthinking and less to do with adrenaline. Clean pockets last season seemed to catch him off guard, so hopefully that won't be an issue in 2019. What I would suggest is more no huddle, a quicker pace, etc. The problem starting halves could very well be the result of adrenaline not yet flowing. I'd honestly go 2 minute O to start the half quite a bit. Read, react, but don't think.
  3. That's the problem. A great number of pitbull owners choose the breed specifically for the intimidation factor. It's like someone collecting way too many guns or a fancy car in order to mask personal insecurities. The dog is naturally going to attempt to impress it's owner by performing exactly the kind of horrific acts we're talking about. The owner doesn't have to overtly train the dog to attack in order for it to pick up the subconscious cues. The owner will likely not be "pleased" with a tragic incident because of the ramifications, but it's kind of what they wanted; even if they don't know it on a conscious level. Disclaimer; I'm typing in generalities here. There are obviously pit owners who don't fall into this category.
  4. That's the second time you've referred to me as "astute." Questionable judgement. I would say .500 should be the benchmark. I understand there have been a ton of changes, but that's not a new phenomenon in the NFL. They've turned this roster over quite dramatically(by choice). I'll grant you that. That's why I'd be "OK" with a .500 season. I think it's kind of ridiculous to give them a complete pass simply because of that turnover. They were 6-10 last season and had a chance to use a great deal of the much ballyhooed draft capital to bring in process guys. A 2 game improvement is a reasonable expectation. I hear a lot of talk about bounces of the ball potentially leading to a 5-11ish record, but the overwhelming majority of games are not determined by a bounce of a ball, a poorly timed penalty, etc. The majority of games are won by the more prepared/talented team. I think objective folks will know TRUE progress when they see it, and progress can be measured to a great extent by wins and losses. I'd personally feel satisfied with the direction of the team if they can at least win 8.
  5. Yeah. He's a first ballot HOF'er. Silly wording on my part. Too much "fun" last night.
  6. But we say this with EVERY regime. That was the point. I'll reserve ultimate judgement until I see the product they put on the field in this, a PIVOTAL season, whether some want to admit it or not.
  7. Probably true. That's really the only reason I care. I don't want to see the Pats in the SB again because I want to see the Bills overtake them. This distinction just doesn't do much for me. As I said, I want to see the Bills WIN a Superbowl so I don't have to hear idiots say "oh, that's a shame they lost those Superbowls." I'd love to hear, "that Josh Allen dude is a beast." We shall see.
  8. I don't know man. We're talking about a guy who was on a boat during the draft festivities. Just one of those people who showed up to work and did his job. I suspect he'll be in Canton one day FWIW. Still.....
  9. Yeah. I pop a bottle of champagne every year when the Blue Jays are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. This can't be a real thing. This
  10. I would say it's far worse in the case of Joe Thomas. Quite possibly the best LT of the last 15 years. The Texans haven't been worldbeaters, but Watt is a household name because he puts up monster numbers and has a big personality. Joe Thomas played a position strongly dependent on those around him, so he's a footnote in history to most.
  11. 6 MIL OVERCHARGED???? What did he PAY? Brees makes Bell's stash look like chump change. I'm sure both Drew and Le'Veon will survive.
  12. I checked the link. Tackle eligible is CHILD'S PLAY. What I'm proposing is a tackle eligible GUARD. The only position along the OL not able to report as eligible is center, and that's because he snaps the ball. I'm gonna have to do more research, but what about having the guard snap the ball, thus allowing the center to report as eligible? Once this plan is set in place, prepare to have your mind blown!
  13. As has been pointed out, that was an absurd statement. He's got an excellent go route deep ball. Fortunately, we won't have to watch Zay running step for step with the receiver he's covering on fly patters in 2019. Deep accuracy is not an issue.
  14. It wouldn't. As much as I love that Superbowl team, NOBODY outside of Buffalo is going to care if New England ties this record. The distinction being the Bills LOST 4 straight. It's not something to hang your head about, but it's not comparable to New England who tends to win the ultimate prize. I'd love to see the Bills WIN a Superbowl in my lifetime.
  15. He who sees that which lies directly in his scope shall master that which is beyond his purview.
  16. He's probably gonna get cut anyways, but it'd be a real shame if he did nothing illegal and lost his career, right?
  17. BB was a mere mortal before Tom Brady came around. If he continues to lose velocity, the end could be quick and ugly.
  18. As a slightly encouraged JA skeptic, I do like the fact that he doesn't shy away from competition. The story I heard about him banging a half court shot on the spot in front of his teammates tells me this is a guy who doesn't get nervous and performs well when the lights are on him. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I like it. Silly stuff to some, but I've long believed that the psychological makeup of a QB is of extreme importance. That little anecdote tells me something about his mentality.
  19. He was correct that Allen's biggest issue is not properly setting his feet on the gimmies. This is precisely why Palmer and Daboll are making it the focal point of his offseason to do list. If he can master that, he's a superstar. If he can't, he'll just be a decent QB who flashes.
  20. I don't think so personally. Very unique situation. McVay is not popular around these parts, but he's an offensive mastermind. He inherited Goff. He didn't choose him. Franchise QB's will continue to get paid BIG and I don't see an end in sight to that. Some team would probably pay Goff BIGTIME money(and be disappointed) if this were to occur. Kind of like Cousins still got paid huge money.
  21. Yeah. I don't personally like Jones as a prospect, but fan reaction will have absolutely no bearing on anything. Half of it looked scripted anyway. Ironically, the same fans whining will be loving them some Jones if he lights it up in the preseason.
  22. I believe he's correct. Goff is Terrell Davis/Mike Anderson/Olandis Gary IMO.
  23. Yeah. I don't have any real problem with fights. They're part of the game in a manner of speaking. What Gronkowski did was assault and should have been prosecuted.
