  1. Eesh. File it away under the life isn't fair folder. That's a BIG folder.
  2. All phone reps are docked for cancellations more than any other type of call. These are not exactly prime jobs, so you may run into a rep who doesn't care about the job. That's likely the main variable.
  3. Pretty sure the smart teams would wait it out a bit and sit the starting QB due to A)An injury or B)A team they believe they can beat without the starter. It would be stupid to pigeon hole the first two or final two IMO. I could see a team going with the first two games, but definitely not the final two. Analytically, it would be wise to choose the games for a particular reason.
  4. Got approached by Melvin Fowler at a grocery store with a card promoting a club. He recognized the Bills hat and figured I was a good target I suppose. Had no idea who he was at first because he was like 200 pounds and didn't have the dreads.
  5. The correct answer is that you have to wait for the end of the season, even if the bet went over. At least in Vegas. ALL of Vegas. I would assume online books are the same.
  6. I continue to read threads about the running back position and the Bills "potential" interest in acquiring a top back. Most of the conversation is centered around McCoy/Gore/Yeldon. We just drafted a running back in the 3rd round. A 3rd round running back is supposed to be an immediate impact player in 2019. I'm not a big fan of the Singletary pick, but if I was, I would be counting on him to do big things. What gives?
  7. I think the Patriots dominance has skewed the perception of the importance of a number 1 receiver. If not for the Patriots and their completely anomalous run, there would be a few teams with legit number 1's with rings. I also believe it's slightly less important than in the past with more complex formations/patters, but it's still valuable.
  8. I see a more talented/less accurate(TO THIS POINT) version of Phillip Rivers.
  9. You are confusing facts with feelings. Your OPINION is no more valid than John's. Without video leading up to the altercation, it's a guessing game as to which participant is truly at fault. Unless of course, you believe the guy with the badge is never at fault. Based on what I saw, the cop had ZERO interest in de-escalation, which should be much more of a priority. I also saw a clearly intoxicated "suspect" not following orders and eventually snapping well beyond any rational response. McDowell obviously has culpability here and he's going to face justice, but my hunch is that the melee could have been avoided if the cop wanted to de-escalate the situation when McDowell was on the ground.
  10. No way POSSIBLE? I can see the argument for Rivers, but it's a perfectly valid position. I'd rank Wilson ahead of Rivers.
  11. I would counter that the group of owners who would benefit from such proposal would love to get it on the table. The question then becomes how many owners believe it would work in their favor and how many believe it would be a detriment. And again, it's not about pressuring a team to move to another location. It's about making the conditions such that a team would essentially be forced to move or sacrifice a great deal financially.
  12. It's a game! These morbid jokes really freak me out. Brady is the nemesis of the team we root for; not your personal enemy. Even then, you really wish death on your "enemies?" The neighbor across the street who parks his car where it doesn't belong? Some people need to get a life. Wishing this kid the best. Glad he's alive, but it's going to be a TOUGH adjustment. Very tough.
  13. NO recorded heart attacks with a total cholesterol of <150 and an LDL <80? I hope that's correct, but I seriously doubt it.
  14. We were both pretty much in the same boat; cautiously optimistic, but still somewhat skeptical. I need to see him hit the short and intermediate routes with consistency before I'll be "sold." He's a fun guy to watch, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Bills fan not extremely intrigued to see how he'll progress.
  15. I just temporarily moved to Las Cruces, NM of all places. I walk into a dollar store and me and some random guy recognize that we're both wearing Bills hats; small world. Had a brief conversation about our doubts and hopes regarding JA. Being a Bills fan really is a fraternity of sorts.
  16. I tend to agree and must admit that I don't really care about Gore's personal records. It's not like the accomplishment will be tied to the Bills. I'm HOPING Singletary is the real deal because his ability to adapt to the pro game is going to have the greatest impact on the run game(outside of the OL). I don't have high hopes for a big season from either Gore or McCoy.
  17. A pick 6 would obviously not fall under the category of defensive points allowed. A simplistic glance at PPG would include them, but certainly not an advanced metric resource. There are too many factors that go into points allowed to simply defer to it as the be all end all, but to each their own.
  18. In a nutshell, I think the POTENTIAL danger is that any proposal of this nature would force Pegula's hand if it were to hamper Buffalo's financial situation to the extent that it's no longer viable; not that the league could ACTUALLY force Pegs to relocate.
  19. This is morbid, but I do wonder if there's a succession plan. I know they have daughters, but no idea if that's ever been discussed. A modern stadium would certainly increase the sustainability of the team in Buffalo if.......were to happen.
  20. Manning could easily have zero SB rings. In his first win, he beat a REX GROSSMAN led Bears team. In his second, he had one of the most dominant defensive units of this generation and played a Trent Dilfer role. Agreed on Rodgers. From a pure statistical standpoint, he's the best QB of all time. I wouldn't put him at number 1, but he's in my top 6 or 7.
  21. They have got to fix the red zone defense. I don't have a great solution with the current roster, but it was awful in 2018; the only glaring problem with the D, but it's pretty important. You could almost count on a TD as soon as the opponent got inside the 20. They were nowhere near as bad in 2017, so I'm hoping McDermott has some answers.
  22. Your name suits you well. Tom Brady is one of the greatest QB's of all time and he'd be a winner anywhere. Would be have 6 rings? Probably not. But to insinuate the Bills wouldn't have been a playoff team is crazy talk. Of course we don't LIKE Tom Brady. But cognitive dissonance is not healthy.
  23. That's not really new. It's the Atkins diet, which has been around for decades. You actually will lose weight eating precisely those foods, but it's not healthy. If you practice this diet, you have to use some common sense. The sad thing with weight is that often times, people die when they decide to drop the pounds. Your body was carrying that weight for a long time so it already took a toll. My brother is/was extremely overweight, but he's in the process of losing it. Never drank much, NEVER smoked cigarettes or did illicit drugs, so I'm crossing my fingers.
  24. This could be partially true. I think I'd have liked Juan Castillo as DC after the Wannestadt debacle.
