  1. It's a concern if he's not ready to be a semi-major contributor. 3rd round RB's come with higher expectations than say, a QB, DE, or LT. Those are premium positions and RB has become more dependent on scheme and much easier to plug and play late round picks/UDFA's. So yes, I will personally be concerned with his prospects if he doesn't produce immediately. Gore is more than capable of making something happen with 15 or so touches a game. Yeldon can at least play in this league. It's not like we're gonna be giving him 30 touches a game and expect 1300 yards. As far as RB's go, I actually WOULD say that we'll find out if he can play very quickly. Couple games to acclimate to the speed of the game and he'll be prepared to show what he can do in this league. Examples of RB's who take time to develop are few and far between. In addition to Shady's worth or lack thereof, that tells you what kind of premium the league in general places on the position.
  2. If he's not ready now...that's a problem. The only legit concern with a rookie back is pass blocking and Singletary doesn't appear to be a liability there. If he can play, he can play right now.
  3. Agree to a great extent. The very CASUAL NFL fan would still believe McCoy had some trade value. He had none. 30 plus y/o RB's on a steady decline making 6 mil per have no trade value. ZERO. The level to which people don't understand the way the NFL works, and no offense to the poster quoted, is really tough to ignore. NFL Twitter is acting like the Bills just cut Todd Gurley. They don't watch many Bills games, so their reference point is a Lesean McCoy that no longer exists. This is a much bigger national story than it is a Bills story. If you're SHOCKED, you haven't been paying attention. The fact that he was playing in the 3rd QTR of the 2nd preseason game was a telltale sign. Glad we'll have a chance to find out if Singletary is legit.
  4. Twas not my prediction. I think it's gonna be a much tougher game than most think. There's a reason the Jets are a slight favorite. We're fairly evenly matched teams. The Jets have more high profile players, but I think we have the edge in several areas. All things considered, I kind of view it as Allen vs. Darnold. I'm hoping for the best, but certainly not penciling it in a a dub. Just noting that predictions are not a reflection of a person's dedication to the team. I know plenty of hopeless optimists who pay very little attention to the day to day goings on.
  5. It's really, really awful, but to each their own. What does it have to do with the Bills? The Cheeseheads are just as stupid, but don't look quite as bad. I don't know. I guess I'd rather see Bills fans wearing Bills gear on their head if they feel the need to wear headgear. I get it. Wisconsin is known for Cheese and Buffalo is known for Wings. As much as I understand that Buffalo has a STRONG association with wings, it's just not a good look. At all. I typically EAT food and don't wear oversized, silly replica's on my head. But that's just me. It's funny in an ironic, "my good those things are dumb" kind of way I suppose. But I would greatly prefer they not become a "thing" associated with the Bills. It's not something that will affect W's and L's, so whatever.
  6. His job entails having the right coach and acquiring the right talent that aligns with the coach's philosophy. He's not PLAYING so I suppose you could play the semantics game there. But his job literally depends on the team winning games. That's the one and only barometer for which to judge a GM. If you have another, I'd love to hear about it.
  7. This thread was asking for opinions, not wishes. I personally think Allen will perform better than 12/21, but since when did honest predictions become bashing the team?
  8. If Andy Reid wants to trade up for a QB, I'll pass. If Belichick wants ANYONE, I'm hanging up the phone. Either way, I think it's quite likely both Teller and Bodine would have been cut, but the Pats may very well have not been able to get Bodine. It IS cool to get some comp for players likely to be cut. Meh. Not a big deal. Bodine may be a little better than he's given credit for here, but he's still JAG.
  9. It's the windup for tall QB's with unusually long arms. They often aren't able to settle in the pocket and deliver in a timely manner. Rivers does it. Ben doesn't have the greatest release time, but he's such a horse that it hasn't hurt him. JA has a very solid release time, so that's not a concern with him. Tyree's release time is really poor. CK was able to succeed with a poor release time because he throws the ball accurately on the move.
  10. The Bills have had pretty porous records in the preseason over the last 15 years. I think there's very little correlation between preseason record and regular season success, but it's not like the Bills have been preseason world beaters.
  11. Howard is on cloud 9 right now! Who needs the regular season? In all seriousness, This team fought to the end, especially the defense and Murphy. It's clear that this is a team of hungry football players. Whether or not they're talented enough to contend will be settled during the season.
  12. Right when I decided to announce I took the Vikes. You're welcome! It doesn't mean much, but going undefeated is still pretty cool. Awesome game by Jaquan Johnson. That dude is a keeper.
  13. ?‍♂️ Totally deserved this result! These guys are hungry. That much is obvious.
  14. I knew better than to post what I posted! Total jinx. Awesome return by Murphy. I actually thought they'd go for 2.
  15. 1.Yes. 2.Tyree/I'm a degenerate and it's not like there are any locks in the regular season. 3. Thanks and Uh Oh! Backdoor cover?
  16. I'm not watching this game, but I had to bet on the Vikings -3 with Tyree going the whole way. He's just not an NFL Quarterback. Bring on the real games.
  17. I appreciate the thought you put into your post, but if he as a top 15 pick, it sort of nullifies the rest of the narrative. At what point does he want to win? Just sayin.
  18. The one thing I love about Haushka is that he never appears to be rattled and that is generally reflected in his approach to the ball; very calm and consistent. He has definitely regressed, so it's a concern, but I have a greater level of trust in him than I did in MANY previous kickers in high leverage situations. I'll never forget the Rian Lindell days. I'm sure he wasn't as bad as I remember, but he APPEARED very nervous when it mattered most.
  19. I get it, but I've personally never thought it was the case. I know that means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I believe the decline is imminent in 2019. What he did in the postseason was probably the most impressive performance of his entire career largely because he was putting everything he had into semi routine throws. He'll never lose the awareness. Never lose the mind. But the arm is beginning to fail him this time. He's teetering on the brink right now with his velocity level, despite the reports of his 101 MPH fastball.
  20. Is John Brown better than Jordan Matthews? Because Zay is pretty much Jordan Matthews without the injury issues. The answer is yes.
  21. People get WAAAAAAAY too worked up over this stuff. NFL Live is a bunch of talking heads trying to attract viewers and give incredibly basic analysis. The Patriots have won 6 SB's this century. Of course plugging them is going to attract viewers. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you want a detailed breakdown of our LB core vs the Pats LB core. And there's this; if the Bills actually start WINNING, people are going to want to know why. That's the way it works. We haven't proven anything of note on the football field. Go out and do that and the rest will take care of itself. We're gonna find out this season my friend! We've had this convo so let's just see what happens.
  22. I don't quite get this mentality. I'm not singling you out specifically, but it seems like many want to believe in this regime so much that they're already creating built in excuses if things go awry this season. I HOPE that Beane and McDermott are the answer, but I'm not willing to give them 5 years to prove they can build a contender. In terms of spinning the wheels, that is NOT the problem. Which regime deserved more time? Seriously. None of them. The problem has not been spinning the wheels. It's been hiring the wrong people. Beane's moves may very well pay off bigtime and McDermott may very well be an upper echelon coach. But I think we're gonna find out 90% of what we need to know THIS season. They don't need to win the Superbowl, but it's time to see real, tangible results. I'm tied to the hip with the BILLS. If the BILLS don't appear to be headed in the right direction, I'm not gonna be particularly happy about it and I couldn't care less about which GM/Coach, or even QB is the answer. This is what we're rolling with for now, so I'm just hoping we have the right people. If not, I hope they find the right people. Let's see what we have with a roster created in Beane's image before we decide either way.
  23. I absolutely believe Beane inquired about Clowney. Either he did or he has little respect for Gaine because I know he had to have been pressing him hard. I'm guessing the compensation wasn't right or we weren't on Clowney's very picky list.
  24. I live in Las Vegas and only attend a game once every year or two. But my answer is H*** No. Being a Bills fan is not something you can shake...unfortunately.
