The Pat fan thing is meaningless, but this is HIGHLY suspect. A real Bills fan is watching that game til the bitter end.

AJ Green says he would love to play for Buffalo.

No surprise here. Alvin Kamara has informed the Saints that he demands a trade to the Bills ASAP and is willing to play for free. Stay tuned. -

Next Gen Stats says Bills' pass blocking is NFL's second-best
LSHMEAB replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the pass blocking, especially the interior linemen, has been decent. Dawkins hasn't been great, but he hasn't been AS BAD as the narrative. Ford has been a liability in pass pro, but Nike has been adequate. My issue with the line is downhill blocking. I'd like to see them dominate a few series. It's better than last year, but it's still not where it needs to be. -
Is Josh ‘too Favre’ like? (Athletic pay wall)
LSHMEAB replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. If you're gonna throw 3 picks, you have to balance that out with production. I think it's a foregone conclusion that Allen is going to be turnover prone with his style of play and I'm pretty much OK with that. The key will be whether or not he can start producing at a higher clip. That would come with some more efficiency in the short game(we saw it for 2.5 games) and also more connections on the deep throws(we have yet to see that). I think anyone in their right mind would be fine with Allen having a Favre like career. It's almost comical to think otherwise. Is there anyone that would be disappointed with that? Serious question. -
Progression from Good to Elite Defense
LSHMEAB replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you're referring to Fletcher Cox, who is one of the best defensive lineman in the league, but almost exclusively a DT. Let's just hope Oliver starts to make more of an impact. Loved the pick and expect to see more going forward. Much different style than Cox, but the defense would certainly benefit from EO's emergence. We'll see how long that lasts. -

They stymied Brady last year as well so I think McD has done a really good job mixing up coverage against him. They've also faced Darnold, Eli, and Dalton with a horrible line. Nobody in their right mind is arguing that the defense is not very good; as I said; top 5 right now. What I'm saying is that they could be DOMINANT with that one missing piece. You add a big time play maker on the edge and all of a sudden, you'd see more pressures, sacks and game changing turnovers. I want to see how they handle....I typed this, looked at the schedule, and realized we really don't face a daunting QB list this season. Dak and Wentz will be pretty good tests I suppose. -
If the Bills Trade at the Deadline.. What Position?
LSHMEAB replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RT. There's gotta be a guy out there at least PROFICIENT in pass pro that can be had on the cheap. I don't see them making a big in season trade and expect them to address WR and DE in the offseason. Unlikely to find an LT and an average RT would have more impact THIS year than an average WR or DE. -

Good football insight, but it doesn't change the fact that our edge rushers are not great as a unit and that's where a large percentage of sacks/pressures/TURNOVERS emanate from. -

So we have issues in the secondary or what? They changed their protection scheme against Pitt to no avail. Their line is trash so it's pretty much expected that a good defense will force them to use extra blockers. Either one. I know all signs point to the draft being plush with receivers(and we need one), but you never know how that'll shake out. I would prefer they draft a WR in RD 1 and find that edge on the market, but that's a ways off. -
Josh Allen - Accuracy on the Long Ball
LSHMEAB replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. Deep ball accuracy would be a bonus, but he needs to get back to where he was before the 2nd half against Cincy on the short/intermediate throws. That's where my optimism really grew. The footwork is an issue on the deep balls and this is a worthwhile topic, but I just want to see him hitting the gimmies like he was for 2.5 games. -

They are what I would call stout and extremely effective. In order to be elite and impose your will on an offense, you've got to get in the QB's mug early and often. That's the missing component here. Yes, they dominated Brady, but don't forget about the Cincy game. Dalton had all day to throw in the 2nd half. Did you watch them against Pitt? Pitt was getting in his face to the bitter end and never let him get in sync because that OL is trash. The defense is very, very, good. Top 5 even. But I don't see the pressure/sacks and turnovers I want to see from an ELITE defense. Beane was poking around with stud edge rushers this past offseason and I expect him to make a move in 2020. -
We need Josh Allen to be Tyrod Taylor for 3 quarters
LSHMEAB replied to Strethor's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the hero ball narrative has some merit, but is NOT the main issue here. The majority of the gaffes in the Pats game occurred AFTER he had put the offense in a poor situation. If he's more efficient on the early downs, it's gonna greatly reduce the chance that the costly turnovers ever happen. Also, we keep talking about Favre, but there's a difference. Favre threw alot of picks, but he also made a ton of plays in the air. I can live with the picks if Allen improves his efficiency and connects on the big plays. The lack of overall production is more of a concern than the turnovers IMO. If you're gonna throw 3 picks, you gotta throw 3 TD passes. I really don't want to see him alter his game all that much. I just want to see him become more productive. He was shook in the Pats game. Totally shook. He had shown some progress through 3 games. I'm gonna take the wait and see approach as to how he bounces back. -
That was BAD. Beasley is my guy, but it was a crucial whiff. Didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, but I certainly noticed it as well.

Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
LSHMEAB replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the combo of Kromer and Roman was lethal in terms of run game coordination. I wouldn't agree that the overall talent level is better than in 2015-16, and certainly not in terms of run blocking. Glenn and Cogs were maulers. What's kind of odd is that the new additions are generally massive, but better in pass pro than downhill blocking. The downhill blocking is definitely better than last season, but that's not saying much. We'll see if they get better as the season progresses. Both Dawkins are Ford have got to play better. As far as Reid goes, again; he's been around the league A LONG time and NEVER had a QB put together a stretch like we've seen from Mahomes. Yeah, they have talent, but guys go down and he continues to elevate the play of the newcomers. He's elite. There's just no two ways about it. We'll see how Josh does his next go round. We'll call that a mulligan on the big stage against a great defense if he can put it behind him and improve his efficiency. It's all speculation at this point. He's gonna have every chance in the world to prove what he's about. -
They really don't seem to like Duke Williams.

BH13's Q1 QB Efficiency Ratings
LSHMEAB replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MMMMKAY. Josh Allen scored a 37 on his wonderlic so there is empirical evidence that he's a smart guy. Thus far, he has NOT consistently demonstrated the ability to adequately read through progressions and throw the ball at the correct time under the right circumstances. He's also demonstrated some poor situational awareness that would be considered "dumb." Not quite sure how one could not understand the term football IQ. As an aside, I hate the word and most words of this nature bandied about, but it has merit, especially at the QB position. Ryan Fitzpatrick is essentially a genius and I've seen him look like the dumbest human being alive on the football field. Dan Marino is pretty much an idiot, but he was an extremely smart QB independent his elite physical skill. It's not that complicated. -

Allen is definitely no dunce in terms of intelligence, but intelligence and football IQ are two entirely different things. He hasn't (of yet) demonstrated a great deal of football IQ. He makes up for many of his shortcomings with big plays and the ability to run, but that intelligence will need to translate to an improved football IQ if he's gonna get exponentially better. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
LSHMEAB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess players can only succeed in KC! Really, I wasn't all that upset about the release, but it appears to be a mistake in retrospect. We're essentially talking about Shady vs. Yeldon. I'll take Shady. Singletary did look good, so I'm hoping he gets back as soon as possible. But yeah, should have just kept McCoy. -

Built in bias that he's not the ultimate answer does not= hope that the "bias" is correct. It's entirely possible for one to have not liked the pick, be a die hard Bills fan, and hope that the initial opinion is proven wrong. I'm quite sure there have been Bills quarterbacks you weren't sold on, didn't fully believe in, yet wanted to succeed. -

So fire Daboll? The most TD passes any QB had thrown under HC Andy Reid was 28 prior to Mahomes arrival. That was like a 20 year stretch. Andy Reid has a really solid offensive mind, but it seems like he retroactively became a "QB whisperer" and offensive genius when that kid from TT showed up. Fair enough, but it's ridiculous to think Mahomes wouldn't be a star QB regardless of where he ended up. That seems to be the insinuation(not by you). -

Yeah, I think it's time to drop the Mahomes is a product of the system thing. The guy is amazing. -
The BILLS were 4-0. The collective record of the teams they beat to get to 4-0 was an ASTOUNDING 16-48! Dude was averaging 1 TD per game in those victories. That 4-0 start was fool's gold and largely responsible for this false narrative. He just wasn't any good, but everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion. I membah. Well played.

He can't afford to lose a single bit of velocity and that is happening. Probably has a little more pop early in the season, but that will fade with the grind of the season. Also, his survival mechanism is kicking in when he's facing the slightest bit of pressure. I'm sure he "regrets" not sticking with the play, but he's fighting basic physiology and that's a match up he can't win. The Pats will likely win the division in spite of Brady, but the end is most certainly near for TB42.
