Zay Jones traded to Raiders for 5th rounder
LSHMEAB replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When in the world did I EVER defend Zay Jones? I thought he was a waste of space by season one. I actually think they could have fetched more if they traded him in the offseason, but probably only a 4th, so meh. This told you so mentality is out of control. -

Sheesh. There appeared to be confusion in the coverage and I thought that was obvious. I'll have to rewatch the play so I don't make such egregious errors. I can't even compliment the guy properly! -
It's wonderful to be ignored by the NFL Media Machine!

The 90 points through four games is naturally going to get a team dismissed. Offense is sexy and the Bills are not scoring alot of points. They've scored less than just about all other teams, but they've allowed just 70; might be best in the league, but I'm not sure. A franchise like the Bills really needs to win significantly or have a QB playing spectacularly to gain national attention. I have very little interest in what the national media covers or doesn't cover. I want to see the Bills win ALOT of games. If that happens, they'll have no choice but to tune in. -

Yeah. Had he run a 4.3 either at a pro day or the combine, he would have likely been a first round pick. He went UNDRAFTED. Something lost in the story is that he was/is not some physical specimen shunned for character issues. NFL team's just didn't think he was particularly talented. I'm not sure how long he'll last, but that energy goes a long way. He's the antithesis of Zay WRT confidence and "swag." Not sure what happened with Zay, but it was nice to get SOMETHING back for what turned out to be a poor pick. I'm just going to sit back and see what he does going forward. Didn't expect anything in game one, so I'd love to see him continue to bring the energy and continue to make plays. He LOOKS like a TE playing receiver, but he PRODUCED. Even saw him create separation a few times besides the blown coverage TD. At the end of the day, production is all that matters. Great story. -
I think we'd have a solid shot at beating the Texans at home, but lose to them in Houston. Baltimore is still a really strong team despite their recent woes. That'll be a critical game on the schedule. The Colts are building something there even without Luck and they curbstomped us last year at the LOS. We're better in that department, but that's a team to watch. Definitely not crazy to think the Bills may very well be the 3rd best team.

Josh Allen vs Bills History
LSHMEAB replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. We all want him to be great. My main thing that I continue to harp on is that the INT's are annoying and he needs to cut them down, but I'm actually fine if he throws 15-18 picks with 35 plus TD's LONG term. I think this season has been altered a bit by the 4-1 start. It's not really about DEVELOPING Josh Allen. It's about winning football games. They should work in tandem, but under different circumstances, you probably cut him loose a bit more and let the chips fall where they may. With the defense in place, I think the correct approach is to harness him a bit and play to the situation. -
No thanks. Mariota is basically the worst case scenario. At this point in their respective careers, they were roughly equal. Allen has a much higher ceiling, but a lower floor. Mariota hasn't progressed much at all(if any). If Allen doesn't improve, he'll basically be Mariota. There's a chance Allen will improve, and we've already seen that Mariota will not. Would make no sense to prefer the guy who's proven he won't get better.

I don't understand the fixation, but to each their own. It seems a bit....weird. Tyrod was a QB who's play regressed as his speed slipped and teams figured out how to gameplan against him. Definitely not a guy you want starting long term. Other than that, he was a decent bridge QB for the Bills and was at least competent. For different reasons, Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't a long term starter, yet the sentiment seems to be the polar opposite. Again. Seems odd, but I'll leave it at that. The Bills are 4-1 with their only defeat a 6 point loss against the Pats in which they had a chance to win. That's where my focus is.

Also gotta get Singletary back because you wanna limit Gore's carries and JA can be slow to hit the checkdown. Singletary has the suddenness to make things happen in this situation and Yeldon does not. I know he's been a good receiver in the past, but he doesn't look like a good fit with Allen. We're gonna need some more pop plays to beat top competition.

Do people go to sleep thinking about different ways to criticize Tyrod Taylor? The Bills just won a huge road game to go to 4-1 and the this is what someone is thinking about? Wow. Let it go!

Bills fans table breaking needs to calm down
LSHMEAB replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex Chapman would not have posted it with the block or charge joke if he DIED. I doubt he's "OK," but he ain't dead. -
Today was a really critical game for Allen. I wanted to see how he'd respond to the awful outing against NE. Besides the one pick, he did pretty much everything right. He wasn't "spectacular," but he played smart, efficient football. I believe the big plays will come, so I'm really zeroing in on the efficiency aspect of his game. He's had more ups than downs in that department, and that's all you can ask. His stock is rising in my book even if the stats are run of the mill. He's got to stop taking the big hits though, or he's gonna be unavailable sooner rather than later. It's kind of odd in a sense that the naysayers(myself included) are more impressed with his progression than the cockeyed optimists. I suppose that depends on how you choose to view it and where your opinion began.

Obviously Phillips, but I'm gonna go ahead and just give one to the entire defense and let them swarm to it they swarmed after every Titan player who happened to possess the football. I'm officially sold on this defense.

Dude brought the HEAT. If you think I didn't enjoy every second of it because I stated what appears to be an incorrect prediction on the internet, wrong guy. When he was yelling in that camera after his TD, I FELT his story. That's the kind of energy I want to see.

Gruden didnt want Haskins
LSHMEAB replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So much this my man. To each their own, but I don't spend time looking at Josh Allen's stat sheet compared to Baker Mayfield, LJ, Daniel Jones, Davey Crockett, or anyone else. I don't care that another QB had a terrible day or a good day. I don't care that he's not Pat Mahomes. These around the league stories are interesting because I'm an NFL fan, but I only care about how they RELATE to the Bills. Couldn't care less how they COMPARE to the Bills. -
Singletary is gonna be a big one. I expect this game to be a dogfight and I feel like a few POP runs will go a long away.
-
You would think, but these guys do nothing based on emotion or what "should" happen. They're saying they don't see any difference between Allen and Barkley. That's neither here nor there, but it does stand out as noteworthy. As I said, let's just hope Allen comes out and plays efficient football and sprinkles in a few big plays because I think that's what it's going to take to win this game. This is a pivotal game and the Titans are a worthy opponent at home.
-
Nope. Slight tick and then tick back. On paper, Allen hasn't been very good and most of this stuff is based on metrics. This is a huge game, so hopefully he proves them wrong.
-
We'll find out. My opinion is that anything Williams can do, one of the tight ends can do. I like that he's getting a shot; why not? It's not like the back end of the receiving unit has any standouts. Just don't have any real expectations.
-
We're talking about Duke Williams here, not just some run of the mill superstar like Julio Jones.
-
Or ends. We'll see. Would love to see the guy have a big day. Just don't see that skillset translating to the NFL.

Josh Allen’s deep ball hasn’t been there so far
LSHMEAB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean, this guy clearly doesn't have a whole lot going on in life. Hitting the bottle early is probably a good option. I've always felt like "fans" of teams like the Patriots are often just losers in life. They have this twisted need to attach themselves to something positive in order to "feel" like a winner AT SOMETHING. Sad really. -
AJ Green says he would love to play for Buffalo.

Again, no surprise. Gotta sleep somewhere. He's been chartering flights on his off days banging on doors at One Bills Drive begging security to let him. He's got an 8 point presentation planned for Beane. At least give the guy a meeting for heaven's sake. -
Fair enough, but I'm the kind of guy who would have stayed in that Pats bar just to let them know I wasn't going anywhere or letting the score or even the result deter me. At the end of the day, this is all entertainment. I just have that petty quality that won't allow me to walk away defeated(Even though I really have nothing to do with the team.) I do consider resilience part of being a Bills fan, so there's that.

The problem is gonna be getting McCaffrey and Kamara enough touches. They're both so desperate to join the squad and contribute that there could be some internal strife.
