This was a huge victory and shouldn't be underestimated because it wasn't the most aesthetic performance. The Bills scored first and that took a whole lot of energy out of that building. They rose to the occasion when needed. I was fully expecting another Bills late season "tough" loss, so I have no shame about a "tough" win. That Duck character is obviously not a great QB, but he's "fine" if you give him time to throw. What I found surprising was their ability to get in his face early and often. That has been missing for part of the season and that is what often leads to turnovers. Got a feeling we're gonna see Edmunds blitzing a whole lot more going forward. 6'5 250 pound LB who runs a 4.5 coming right at can't be the most pleasant feeling. Probably should be giving that a shot or two next week with Tommy Boy.

Bills 17, Steelers 10 Game Balls!
LSHMEAB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sean McDermott. This guy eked out 9 wins and a playoff appearance with a BAD roster in year one. Managed 6 wins with an ATROCIOUS roster in year 2. Now at 10-4 and another playoff appearance with a below average roster in year 3. MCDERMOTT has turned this franchise around and this team IS different. Give Beane his due. Allen did enough. But SM has made this happen. Let that man clap in peace. -
He's the most "electric" player on offense. Until Allen figures out his deep ball issues, they should really try to get the ball in his hands in space. I understand that he's not a "complete" receiver, but the fact that the offense can't execute screens is maddening. Bubble screen to Foster properly executed could theoretically be a big play without the need for an accurate deep ball.

I'll be (very pleasantly) surprised if the Bills win tonight. Banged up offensive line against that front 7? Gonna be very tough sledding offensively. The Bills defense is not particularly opportunistic, and a few turnovers would really be ideal against a team like the Steelers. If the Pitt offense puts up 17 plus; I'm not liking our chances. We'll see what happens. Would love to check this board around 9:30 my time and see elation. Calling it like I see it. If (really) good Josh shows up in primetime, that would certainly change the complexion of the game. -

Just irritated I'm losing the bet now. -

I stopped watching the game, but holy smokes @ these responses. I have no personal interest in Ryan Fitzpatrick. As a matter of fact, the whole Fitzmagic thing was annoying as all get out. Just commenting on one drive I saw early in the Dolphins game. Sheesh. -

Yeah. I'm not really a Fitz guy. He is what he is. Never good enough to be a full time starter. But he can he fun to watch; I'll give him that. -
Week 15: Around the League
LSHMEAB replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. That's the game I've been watching. Dude's out there RUNNING and throwing darts into the EZ at 89 years old; for a 3-11 team. Gotta respect that. -
This has turned into another debate in which both stances have merit. A) Allen is not the most accurate QB out there and he needs to improve his ball placement and B) The receiving unit as a whole is mediocre, inexperienced, and lacking that big time weapon.

Thursday Night games are tricky because there is a lot of fatigue involved. It appeared to me that the Ravens defense lacked a certain energy; especially once the offense started scoring every time they touched the ball. They came up with stops when it "mattered." That's what it LOOKED like anyways.

And we're off! (Bills players clowning around)
LSHMEAB replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dig it. This is the first time in a LONG time that the Bills seem to be having "fun." Somewhat related to the debate about celebrations during the Dallas game, but I happen to like to see them "showing out" a bit. Either the PR department is vastly improved, previous teams weren't fully bought in, or a combo of both. Have a little fun out there. Bout time the Bills had some "swag." -
Never surprising. If there's an opportunity, some will try to manipulate the system. Human nature. For whatever reason, I found it kind of odd to see Correll Buckhalter and Tamarick Vanover on the list. These guys were legends in college. Correll could have found plenty of legal hustles in Lincoln and same for Vanover in Tallahassee. But I digress.

Who Will Be Better in 2019 - The Bills or The Jets
LSHMEAB replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's like a less brittle version of Sam Bradford. Wouldn't be shocked to see him get a big deal in the offseason. Smoke and mirrors. -
It's almost impossible to have honest dialogue when it comes to JA. You've got one side hunkered down believing he's the worst QB of all time and one side that believes he walks on water.

Head Coach? We talkin' High School? Seems like there's been this chatter about Daboll landing a HC gig since his arrival and it's never made a whole lot of sense. I need to see him look like a competent OC before I consider, let alone fear the possibility that a team views him as the man.

This FEELS like a playoff game. Gonna be such a pivotal swing one way or the other. Biggest win of the season thus far is Tennessee because we'd be in big trouble if not for that W. A win in Pitt would top that. But like I said, they're gonna have to continue to shake the bad memories from my psyche.
-
For sure. A team like the Patriots proves the rule is not absolute(or I'd be rich), and the best example EVER of "good teams cover bad lines." Not the only example, but the best example. Every year, every sport, there's a few teams that just keep on covering even when the public rides them. Let's hope the Bills are one of these teams. They've actually done it more than once this season, starting with the Giants W.
-
It's a factor, but generally speaking, public money is tied up in parlays or not enough to REALLY move lines because the aggregate amount wagered doesn't match the big money. Also, the books tend to fear/respect the big money more so there's that. Digging in the weeds a bit, but Pitt is the "right" side from a betting perspective. Right side is nowhere near 100 percent, so hopefully the Bills go out and handle business. The REALLY good teams win even when they're not "supposed" to. We weren't "supposed" to dominate Denver and we did. So there's also that. Just win.

Haven't seen much, but he was a 7th round pick who made some waves in camp. Would have been a major surprise if he were an impact player. If you're talking THIS season, who knows, maybe he'll get some reps down the stretch. I don't really believe this team is capable of winning a Superbowl so I'm looking ahead a bit. In the grand scheme of things, Allen and the offense need to get better. They need more weapons and the QB needs to be more productive/efficient. On the defensive side of the ball, the missing element is that game changing stud in the front 7 who rushes the QB consistently and needs to be accounted for on every play. Same deal on offense really. They need a weapon capable of taking it to the house on any given touch. They went the "sign a bunch of players" route in 2018 and the results are mixed, but overall positive. The team IS 9-4. What I'd like to see this offseason is acquiring a big time edge rusher and a big time offensive weapon, whether that be through the draft or FA'cy. Not really an original thought, but that's what they need to do. Getting back to the here and now, I'm very concerned about the offense's ability to score on that PIttsburgh D. They're gonna have guys in Allen's face all game and yards will be tough to come by. It's easy to say the defense will "dominate" Pittsburgh's offense, but there's always lapses. You can't EXPECT to hold Pitt under 14 or whatever. They very well may, but scores happen. Just the nature of the league. The offense is going to really need to step up. I think fans are underestimating the difficulty of this matchup.
-
Bills need to find a TJ Watt type player in the offseason to reach the next level. Having a stout defense is great and the Bills D is the main reason they're 9-4. BUT, they haven't flipped fields. Gotta get in the QB's mug on a consistent basis to achieve this. Never stop improving.
-
Oh this is 100 percent accurate. Personally, having worked in a book for 10 plus years, I PREFER to be against the public if the line is moving the opposite direction. Definitely should be taken with a grain of salt because even the BEST win roughly 54-55 percent. Just an observation.

That's what my eyes tell me when I watch Devin Singletary. Not a popular take, but that's how I see it. The stats tell you he has a place in this league, but he's not a game breaker. I haven't really seen him gain many yards that weren't there for the taking. That would be great, but I just don't think he has the POP. Nice RB is how I'd describe him as well. As much as the team does need another threat at WR, I disagree with the premise that they need what used to be considered a "number one." A guy that is 6'3, runs a 4.4 etc. If Allen can't fix the deep ball thing, that isn't really going to matter. What they NEED is a true playmaker. Don't really even care if it's a RB or a WR. Someone who can turn a what should be a short gain into a huge play. I call them springers. Get one of these guys and the offense immediately improves even if Allen's deep ball accuracy continues to be a problem.

Well, it certainly wasn't a poor run D effort against Baltimore, so the timing is odd. Edmunds has been playing very well for a few weeks. I was skeptical about his ability to play MLB, but that is subsiding. Philly we got exploited. The run D and Edmunds as a whole played well on Sunday, so it's an odd thread. The Chris Spielman reference was out of left field, so at least I got a decent laugh out of the post.

[Name Only Title] Tua Tagovailoa
LSHMEAB replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. Nobody's taking a "flier" on Tua, so the premise is absurd. He'll be a first round pick and very likely a top 10 pick.
