  1. Or is it to protect he and his boss's job because they'd likely be gone after this year if Allen looks like trash?
  2. Does Allen remind anyone else just a bit too much of Mitch Trubisky, the other guy we were interested in?
  3. I feel like Peterman is getting far too much criticism here. When a father gathers the entire neighborhood around to watch his amazing son play the piano, and the kid just hammers the keys, I'm blaming the father. It's not the kids fault he sucks.
  4. I got a strange feeling they're gonna make this one a game, just for the hell of it. It would be very McDermott.
  5. When I see a line move beyond 7 with no buy back from sharps, that's a sign I want to be on the favorite. That thing went from 6.5 to 7 to 7.5 to 8 to 8.5 with ZERO resistance. Plenty of public money eventually trickled in on the Bills and that enticing touchdown cushion. I generally focus on small home dogs, but I'm also more likely to take a big favorite than a small one. Just how I roll. As far as how books operate and approach a line, they will shade but damn near never gamble. The notion that they're setting lines JUST to trap idiots is fallacious. It certainly happens, but it's not their original intent.
  6. It's an interesting thread. When things go bad defensively, they go REALLY bad. Another thing I've noticed under McDermott is that we get a lot of three and outs/turnovers, but rarely kept teams out of the endzone once the opponent's drive got underway. That tells me that a void in leadership exists on that side of the ball. Hopefully Edmunds is that guy.
  7. If Bills fans embraced Kaepernick, it would go a long way toward silencing the false narrative that Buffalo is a bastion of intolerance. We all want that, right! One aspect of the "process" that seems ignored is how this sh*tshow will affect the team's ability to acquire those coveted free agents we all envision jumping on board in 2019. We're already at a disadvantage based on weather and rep. I love the time I spend in Buffalo, but this is just a fact. If you bring in a guy like Kaep, you're making Buffalo a more attractive FA destination both because we'd be more competitive, but also because we'd gain some cache. From a purely football perspective, it's probably a good idea. There's zero chance it happens with this regime, but that's another story.
  8. "Offense of line." Sounds very regal. I like it. I'm pretty concerned about our coaching of Head and our mangerial General though.
  9. I'd wager many Bills fans would rather lose with Peterman than win with Kaep, so yes, the customer is factored into the equation.
  10. I totally disagree that the defensive players have "nothing to do with it." Jerry Hughes is our best pass rusher. I don't love Jerry Hughes nor do I hate him. He should not be our best pass rusher. They paid pretty damn good money to exactly the wrong kind of players IMO. I'd rather focus on what can be done, but until the problem is fully acknowledged, it's not going to change. We've got a bunch of guys in that front 7, who A, don't have the athleticism to get to the QB, and B, don't even know what to do when they get there. Tre Edmunds makes alot of mistakes, but at least he's got the proper athleticism. That's really the only good thing I can say about this front 7. It is a mess and barring another miraculous turnover stretch, I don't see it getting better. I don't like Leslie Frazier either, but how many coordinators can a first time HC run through? I'm REALLY trying to be optimistic, but this bunch makes it difficult.
  11. Can we please stop acting like this game was some kind of one off. If you watched the first half of our "showcase" against the Bengals, this wasn't unexpected. This team IS historically bad. You can believe in McBeane's magical process if you like. That's somewhat valid. Do not tell me that THIS team is anything but awful.
  12. Maybe our starting corner wouldn't be Vontae Davis if we had the kind of FO that would have taken Mahomes.
  13. Add Mike Tolbert, Vontae Davis, Funkhouser/Bovine and Kelvin Benjamin via trade. I have no idea what the optimists are sipping, but I'll take two.
  14. The pass rush is absolutely disgusting. I haven't been this discouraged with that aspect of the team since the days of Chris Kelsay and Ryan Denney. The number 1 defensive priority circa 2018 is to wreak havoc on the QB. Trent and Star may as well not exist. The guys we HAVE acquired in FA are far more concerning than anything we HAVEN'T done. I want killers at DE.
  15. I'm not convinced Josh Allen will ever be better than Tyrod Taylor. Peterman is irrelevant.
  16. Because if you bring in Allen and he sucks, you eliminate any semblance of HOPE. HOPE is a hell of a drug.
  17. Now it's down to 63% of wagers with the line swelling to 8.5. That means the sharp money is on Baltimore, just as I expected.
  18. Some on the left have exploited matters of race for political gain. I've seen those situations and I'll call it out when I see it. It's beyond disingenuous to act like institutional bias doesn't exist. It's much more important that all disadvantaged people regardless of race recognize the true enemy, namely the corporate elite. Trump has successfully divided those people and taken their eyes off the prize.
  19. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Very strange relationship indeed.
  20. My entire betting philosophy is to bet against the public, so I'm not averse to contrarian views. This game does not have that feel. The Ravens are a 7 point home favorite and my guess is that plenty of action will go on the Bills. I think the general public probably thinks that line is too high, which means it's probably too low. This is a really, really bad football team. They could easily be the WORST team in the NFL. That's now what I want. It's what I see.
  21. Is the right making a broad civil liberties argument or simply waging a proxy war between the former President, who was apparently born in Kenya, and the current President? If the GOP funded Dossier contributed to the RENEWAL of Page's FISA warrant, I guess I just don't care. Probably something of great interest to more feverish civil libertarians. I assume you all loathe George W. Bush for his administration's egregious assault on those liberties, correct? The whole damn thing just smells like yet another conspiracy theory you'll quickly dispose of, which is why I mention the former President, who was of course a secret Jihadi.
