  1. Yeah. I'm looking at the same thing. 60/40 Browns isn't a huge public split, but it's a split. For all the reasons you mentioned, the Jets look like the right side. Last week was like 75/25 Baltimore with the line trending towards Cincy. Now that was a play. +260 vs +340 is pretty crazy. If the site that offers +260 had the other side at less than -340, you could guarantee money by taking, say -330 on SD and +340 on the Bills. I know people that make a living hedging, but they're a hell of a lot sharper at finding those spots than I could ever hope to be.
  2. I hated the hell out of Doug Flutie because it didn't feel like the Bills. I hated his legion of fans that weren't Bills fans excusing his shortcoming and bashing our team in the process. I hated that we'd win a game 13-10 and the only highlight you'd see was a Doug Flutie jump pass. That Wade Phillips defense was criminally underrated. But yeah, after almost 20 years, Flutie>RJ
  3. No. I think it's legit. We've been middle of the pack since what, 2001? At this point, we're getting attention because we're especially bad. Maybe it'll pay off in the long run, but that's a debate for another thread.
  4. Right. I think that was kind of his point. If I'm being honest, I'd prefer to live in Miami or So Cal, etc. That's just me. When folks from Philly or the places you mentioned talk sh*t, it's extra ridiculous. Buffalo is what you make of it. I always enjoy my time there.
  5. I live in Vegas now and love it. The weather just makes life easier. Also lived in Philly and spent plenty of time in Buffalo. It always amuses me when folks from places like Philly talk sh*t about Buffalo. I'll take Buffalo over Philly but they are not much different. It's generally like 4 degrees warmer in Philly than Buffalo. Congrats?
  6. Brings his lunchpail to work but never shares because he wants to teach his teammates the value of true grit and determination.
  7. Ryan Denney was allergic to making plays. He was one of those guys that could be breathing right down the QB's neck and just never actually make the play. Almost like he was content to get pressure. I've always disdained players like Dennelsay and the comparison to Murphy is apt. For all of Aaron Schobel's limitations against the run, he had the killer instinct you want in a defensive end. Schobel was underappreciated. This team desperately needs an edge rusher!
  8. I don't disagree. I just don't really care what x player gets unless it affects the team. In that scenario, I fault the GM for making a mistake. Like I said, this situation is unique in that the guy up and left in the middle of the game. I'll give you that much. Yes. Why?
  9. I've never really understood why fans care so much about the money players make/keep unless it pertains to the cap. Baseball fans whine all the time about bad contracts. "Miguel Cabrera is stealing money from the Tigers." As a Tigers fan, I couldn't care less. I understand that theoretically that money could be spent elsewhere, but I doubt many sports owners are financially precluded from signing anyone they wish. Granted Vontae is pretty unusual in that he up and quit during the middle of a game, but the passion about players and money seems odd.
  10. Does it seem to anyone else like alot of posts are just about creating excuses in the event Allen doesn't play well?
  11. I could live with everything you said if the defense wasn't so bad.. That is the area that concerns me most. I actually liked Tyrod, but he is who he is. The fact that they DID spend money on the defense and they've regressed ALOT from last season should be concerning to everyone as to whether or not McDermott is the answer. I can live with a rookie QB playing like a rookie if I thought they at least have a plan in place defensively. I didn't like the Allen pick and don't think he's gonna pan out, but that is what it is as well. Why is the defense so atrocious if this regime knows what they're doing?
  12. Belichick was a failed head coach before Mo Lewis came along. I'm sure he wants to prove that Brady didn't make him. The problem with that is that Brady DID make him.
  13. I continue to hear "last year was a mirage" as some kind of justification for this year's awful performance. It really makes no sense. By any measure, shouldn't we be better in year TWO of a rebuild? I really don't understand why this particular front office is getting such a free pass. The fact that we're worse in year two is not a good thing. It's a bad thing. How is such regression a sign of progress?
  14. Ok. Murphy and Star were the two guys they paid. They're both liabilities and not assets IF THEY REMAIN ON THE TEAM going forward. Better?
  15. When the best thing you can say about a free agent group is that only 1 of them is a future liability, it probably didn't go very well.
  16. Josh Allen held on to the ball an average of 3.6 seconds before release. That is not going to cut it in the NFL.
  17. You transform an offense with a QB and you transform a defense with a pass rusher. Jerry Hughes is old and Trent Murphy was a bad signing. I'm taking Bosa.
  18. I'd prefer the offseason had they signed LITERALLY no players. Every single one of our FA acquisitions are liabilities going forward. The only thing that could make me doubt the process if we start playing well. This team was built to fail! The more epic the fail, the better the future! Don't you get it! Then you should probably just stash that cash and call it a day. Or shoplift of course.
  19. Remember when Tyrod kept Fitz and the Jets out of the playoffs in 2015? That was awesome.
  20. The defense has been far more disappointing than the offense and much more of an indictment on McBeane. They gave out a couple of relatively big deals to Trent Murphy and Star. I think when the optimistic crowd preaches patience, they fail to recognize that we're analyzing the moves Beane HAS made. They...uh, don't look like money well spent.
  21. Great call on the Donahoe esque draft picks. Both Beane and Donahoe appear to value "character" over talent. There's only anecdotal evidence, but it sure as hell seems to be the case. I remember our fearsome defensive lines of Tiny Tim Anderson, Ryan Denney, & Chris Kelsay and fear this regime is headed down the same path of self destruction.
  22. If this team continues to demonstrate a lack of effort, you may see a change in leadership sooner than people think. I noticed it in the 3rd preseason game. I noticed it for the majority of the first two regular season games. That's a sign a coach has lost the team. There's plenty of time to improve, but I think Pegula could easily pull the plug if there isn't improvement THIS year. You can live with the piss poor results if you believe a successful plan is in place. You cannot live with a loss of control.
  23. How many first time HC's get to fire their offensive and defensive coordinators 2 years in? I've never liked Frazier's conservative defensive approach, but at some point, we have to start questioning the guy making these decisions.
  24. Right. Far too many people associate pessimism with lack of passion. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is not a whole lot to be excited about with this team right now. It is what it is.
