  1. Sean McDermott should be a motivation speaker. I don't know what he does. I don't know about the direction of this team. But when the chips are down, this freaking guy can fire up a seemingly beleaguered team. Very impressive coaching job.
  2. Just tweeted this. That dude is a WEAPON. Unreturnable punts with distance.
  3. Josh Allen is an amazing physical specimen. I've been one his biggest critics and still don't know if he's going to be the ultimate answer. I still want to see him scan the field and make accurate throws over the middle. But no one in the world can ever question his talent. Probably the most physically gifted QB in the NFL.
  4. He's probably the happiest poster on this board right now. Pessimism does not equal lack of passion.
  5. The defense looking like an NFL defense because that is supposedly our HC's thing.
  6. What's funny is that he's kind of a distraction in the same way Tim Tebow was a distraction. You're just better off having neither as a back up. Doubt there's much overlap in their supporters.
  7. The situation I referenced was a fan being harassed to the point of threat for choosing to wear a freaking hat. There is no ambiguity. It is UN -AMERICAN to harass someone for their choice of headwear in a football stadium and there is no tolerance for that kind of wanton disregard for our principles. We already did come together to write the constitution. Many people just need a refresher on that pesky first amendment. Reid would be a solid signing, but we all know it's not going to happen.
  8. Yeah, and he definitely has confirmation bias. He's got his little media schtick. I just don't get why people are so apoplectic about it and take it so personally.
  9. Right. There's a reason these guys are willing to stake their "reputation" on Allen's failure. It's because there's always a team willing to bite on a guy with tremendous physical tools and limited production in college and they never seem to pan out. It's not because they hate him or hate your kids or whatever personal aggrievement you want to attach to the opinion. There's nothing wrong with wanting Allen to succeed. We all want Allen to succeed. But you're kidding yourself if you think these people have some kind of personal vendetta. I'm sure the Ledyard types just view is a safe bet.
  10. We didn't hire Schwartz because he "failed" in Detroit, where careers go to die, so we hire the failure from NY. That's old news and nobody cares. As far as Daboll, I know the focus has been on the passing game and Kurt Warner's comments, but I'm more concerned about the run game. I understand defenses are gonna stack the box because we don't scare anyone deep, but I'd love to see a more creative approach on the ground. We saw recently with Roman and Lynn what that looks like. If this team is gonna be remotely competitive, they've got to be able to run the ball. That'll make Allen's life easier and keep the defense off the field. Dive left/dive right/pass just isn't going to cut it with this roster.
  11. Ugh. Schwartz should be our HC right now. As far as the P word, just give it a few years and it'll all get ironed out. By 2027, you're gonna regret ever doubting this regime.
  12. Sounds like we have a serious problem with Anti-American sentiment at games if people are suppressing freedom. If a fan acts in a threatening manner towards another fan for their choice of headwear, he/she should be permanently banned from the stadium.
  13. You missed out on the moneyline! It was probably around +400. But a win is a win. That was a crazy two year stretch with two really unlikely teams winning the SuperBowl. Rams followed by Pats. That's when the worst NFL teams went from like 1000/1 to 150/1. Vegas doesn't like to pay out those kind of odds.
  14. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Tyrod as a QB beyond race and I never insinuated otherwise. I do think the level of hate for this particular guy is bizarre and worth exploring if you're into that kind of thing.
  15. Living in Vegas, betting is kind of a way of life. About 10 years ago, I started betting against all 3 of "my" teams on a regular basis(Michigan basketball, Detroit Tigers, and Bills.) For me, it's a great way to alleviate stress. I don't feel compelled to do it with the Tigers anymore because they have no expectations and the same goes for the Bills. And it really wouldn't work in this kind of situation for the Bills because they're huge dogs. There is no money betting Minnesota ML and laying 17 means that my team could lose AND I'd lose the bet. It's perfect when my teams are favored in a relatively important game. I'll take the plus money against them and go cash a ticket if they piss me off. I'm "lucky" I'm cursed with such disappointing teams. They've lost a combined 10 STRAIGHT championship games. That's pretty damn hard to for three unrelated teams!
  16. This is a good post. I'm legitimately trying to understand a logical explanation for the Tyrod HATE beyond race. I would quibble with Bledsoe. I don't remember nearly as much contempt post Bills. And in his own way, Bledsoe was every bit as flawed as Taylor towards the end of his career. It is what it is. I don't like ugly QB's so I was relieved as hell we didn't end up with Darnold. I just prefer that people bring their honest motivations to the table.
  17. Yeah. I didn't realize 5-11 got them a WC berth. And I thought WE snuck into the postseason!
  18. That analogy scares the hell out of me. If Allen= Trubisky, we are screwed.
  19. I've watched every Bills game for over 20 years. I'm well aware of what Tyrod is and what he isn't. Even by his standards, that was bad. My main takeaway at this point is that he thinks too much. All the BS about not hearing criticism is just that; BS. It's not something that can be corrected. He's done as a starting NFL QB. I like the guy and appreciate what he brought to the Bills. He gave us a spark and a few decent years at the position. What I don't get is the people who hate him. I've never seen that level of hate for a white QB. PERHAPS the hate for Losman was on par with the hate for Tyrod, but he was only whiteISH.
  20. Rookie QB's are naturally going to respect vets at the position who have been there and done that. Having that kind of "mentor" probably makes life seem easier for a kid. What I don't believe is that said mentor is gonna have any impact on their career. Once the real bullets start flying, the rookie is going to sink or swim based on their own ability. You can only run to the sideline so many times asking Josh McCown what you did wrong before it's up to YOU to correct those mistakes.
  21. Tyrod played like absolute garbage. I think as much as he pretends like he doesn't hear criticism, he heard it loud and clear last night. We all know he's not the most accurate passer, but I've never seen a QB "aim" the way he did in that first half. The fans wanted him out and he knew it. I'm not excusing his poor play nor am I saying he hasn't fizzled out as a legit starter in the NFL. Merely pointing out that all the pressure got to him. That's actually a bad thing. It's not an excuse. I do believe that a certain segment of fans here treated him more harshly because of race. I would also be willing to bet that those same people are glad we have Josh Allen and not Pat Mahomes, even as it's clear Mahomes is the better player. The fact that so many are delighting in Tyrod's failure speaks for itself.
  22. You gotta get up on in game wagering! Not sure if it's offered where you "play." I still thought I was on the right side so I went down with the ship.
  23. It's never easy. I don't regret the Jets play because I followed the numbers. If you do that consistently, you have a chance at success. But you have to live with the L's. It is funny that I decided to actually play last night and it FEELS like the first loss I've had in awhile. My mental bets always SEEM to win. Just can't get bogged down in the what if's.
