  1. Send your kids to the kind of schools I'm talking about and we'll see how well they do.
  2. This guy just doesn't do anything particularly well. Nice story for awhile, but pass. There's a reason he keeps bouncing around. I am a Michigan fan, so there's that.
  3. If the KEY to our success is Derek Anderson, I'd rather just not start the car.
  4. I was specifically referencing the 56 rushing yards for DA. I'd take the under for 5k.
  5. 0. McDermott receives a divine calling pregame and decides the Peterman can!
  6. Are what the Raiders doing that much different than what McBeane did? (Ducks)
  7. 3 pages in and there hasn't been a "this isn't Madden bro" yet. Impressive.
  8. Montana was most definitely a diva my friend! I don't know much about Johnny U, but that's because we knew so little about the personal lives of celebrities at that time. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a massive ego underneath that flattop. I'll give you Brees. That's about the only great modern quarterback who seems genuinely humble.
  9. His point is still a good one. Every great quarterback in the history of football could be labeled a "diva." You have to have a MASSIVE ego to play that position at the highest level.
  10. Probably my second favorite game of the past decade besides beating the Pats at home. Stevie J was a really great ambassador for the city whatever you may think of his antics.
  11. I don't think most fans realize how valuable Matt Milano is to this team. As far as I'm concerned, he's one of the best OLB's in all of football and he's only getting better. He doesn't do anything at an elite level, but he does EVERYTHING extremely well.
  12. You should really be Josh Allen's PR guy. This post allowed me to entertain the possibility that Allen could eventually be an effective NFL QB. Well done.
  13. They literally couldn't open the schools without air conditioning in May, June, or September, so even the bad ones have that. As far as the other criteria, it's all trash. All of it. While I don't disagree with the premise that parents are failing their kids, I think about those that could possibly thrive if the conditions weren't so bad. The whole teacher salary argument doesn't appeal to me. You shouldn't go into primary or secondary education if you want to get rich. Classroom size has proven to be a myth. Countries that far outpace us in education don't necessarily have smaller classes. A modest investment in infrastructure seems like a practical one.
  14. Also off topic; I'm a die hard Michigan BASKETBALL fan so Frank Kaminsky was naturally one of my least favorite collegiate players of all time. That's a ton of talent on one high school court! Never done a game that would approach that.
  15. I ref high school basketball games in Las Vegas. There are schools in "NorthTown" that make prisons look like the Ritz. Whether or not structural improvements would lead to better outcomes is debatable.
  16. Which is why I didn't dismiss that point out of hand. Fixing a culture that lionizes ignorance is above anyone's pay grade. I have seen improvements in that regard over the past two decades, but it's painfully slow.
  17. Who on God's green earth has confidence in Derek Anderson?
  18. I don't entirely buy that argument, although it has some merit. Have you been to schools in low income urban areas? The dilapidation alone make it a less than ideal situation for education. I don't blame kids for not wanting to show up. They could at the very least invest in the infrastructure. Maybe they'd be crap again in 10 years, but a just society makes the effort.
  19. It was Cincy preseason week 3 bad and JA was completely overwhelmed. Couldn't even get rid of the ball. JA has been pretty well protected. I think they've done some things in terms of sliding protection which limits the route runners, but at least he's had time.
  20. It bothers me way more than it should when someone says a QB is a good "scrambler." It's football, not Denny's for heaven's sake.
  21. You know what? I'm being a hypocrite on this. I constantly bemoan the fact that we didn't draft Mahomes, so it's only fair to revel in Rosen's failure tonight. Rosen had absolutely no chance to throw and zero protection, but overall it's fair game.
  22. It's not teaching us anything about Josh Allen. I'm really not trying to be "that guy," but the celebration about Rosen struggling is a little creepy.
  23. You guys do realize that Josh Rosen looking like trash has nothing to with Josh Allen, correct?
  24. I got my money's worth on tonight's loss! Almost prefer it to a last second bad beat. Rosen looks like freaking Peterman.
