  1. I gotta be the only Bills fan alive that doesn't like Chris Berman and his strange association to the Bills. Also, I was not a fan of that opening and I'm sure that's a minority position. The incessant 90's nostalgia is a reminder of the futility since. I respect the 90's Bills teams, but I'm the kind of guy that doesn't live in the past.
  2. Once the process is complete and we have no good players to sell. Winning!
  3. I was upset when we took Allen because I do believe he's going to be a bust. Nothing he's done on the field confirms or refutes that, although he hasn't played well. What does concern me is the number of kool aid drinkers who cast aspersions on anyone who doubts Allen as non fans who'd rather have their opinion validated than to see Allen succeed. Opinions fly around like mosquitoes. Unless they belong to the decision makers, they're meaningless. Nothing would please me more (Bills wise) than for my opinion to be proven 100% wrong.
  4. I have no empirical data. I don't think reliable polling exists regarding the collective opinion of Josh Allen among Bills fans pre-draft. As far as wishful thinking goes, I have no idea what you're talking about. It makes no difference to me whether other Bills fans wanted him or not. I'm not of the opinion that message board consensus will lead to dramatic changes at OBD. I sure as hell hope my opinion doesn't sway Brandon Beane!
  5. Yeah, the hot take threads are just the result of an open message board. I tend to laugh them off because I'm really just here to kill time and talk Bills football. It's not all that serious. I take your point, however. I get it.
  6. "We" were definitely not patient with EJ. The difference is pretty stark.
  7. The fact remains that a huge percentage of Bills fans never wanted the Bills to draft Josh Allen because of the red flags. His lack of production despite incredible talent made him one of the most polarizing QB prospects to enter the league in a long time. Some people, myself included, are just waiting out his time here because we're convinced he cannot play the position. Are we supposed to not share our opinion? I'm more than willing to give Allen credit when it's due, but this 2-3 year nonsense is obnoxious.
  8. You must have missed his amazing ball placement on handoffs to Ivory against Tennessee. Stuck it right on him in stride.
  9. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahahhahahahahhahahaahahahahahahhhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahha! Zing!
  10. The defense MUST have a respectable showing. Sean McDermott is here based on his merits on that side of the ball. We've invested in the defense and they're not particularly young. There's really no excuse for another Brady embarrassment. The defense is essentially a finished product, and if they play like they did against Indy, you've got to start questioning his value as a HC. I don't expect them to shut Brady down. I expect them to occasionally get them off the field and maybe force a few turnovers. I don't think that's too much to ask. I'm willing to accept their wacky plan on offense even if I think it's nonsense. The defense is another story.
  11. Right. I think the Packers have serious roster deficiencies and that he still has a terrific offensive gameplan, but the overall results are not good considering the QB they've had. The apathy towards him is understandable even if I don't agree it's a reflection on his ability to devise an offense. Agree with your last paragraph entirely. He's not coming here as OC, so it's really a moot point.
  12. I don't think this is Bills specific. Even the players we'd consider "heart and soul" guys don't necessarily take it as hard as fans. They're pissed they lost, but they generally move on with their business. The average die hard fan definitely takes a loss more personally than the average player.
  13. Well. That guy in New England was relegated to coordinator after a HC'ing stint but I'm not sure that counts. If McCarthy were available as OC, I'd be all in! He was outstanding as OC in SF prior to GB. I highly doubt he's taking the OC job in Buffalo if he were to be fired. Wouldn't be shocked if he got a HC gig somewhere else.
  14. There are so many things wrong with this statement. I don't know where to begin.
  15. You clearly don't understand how awesome it would have been for Josh Allen had Josh Rosen not thrown that TD pass. Before that pass, I thought Josh Allen was a franchise quarterback. Now, I'm totally flabbergasted.
  16. Nice finish by Rosen. Didn't expect that considering the way he played the first 3+ quarters. Good for him. I remain unimpressed, but the fact that he looked pretty good in the 4th quarter STILL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALLEN.
  17. Did they measure Rosen's 40 time in minutes? That guy would take 50 sacks behind the early 90's Dallas lines. If you're that slow, you've got to compensate with amazing pocket awareness ala Brady/Brees. I just don't see someone with those limitations working in today's NFL. He'd look like a solid QB who'd be star if he had some weapons. He wouldn't look like he didn't belong in the NFL.
  18. That narrative is crap. The majority of QB's who end up being franchise guys show flashes in their rookie season. Goff is a complete outlier. I've said it before, but my OPINION is that all of these QB's suck, so I'm not surprised that none of them look promising. This class could very well be a dud.
  19. THE STRUGGLES OF THE OTHER ROOKIE QUARTERBACKS IS NOT A GOOD THING FOR ALLEN!!!!!!!! They could ALL suck! I'm tired of this narrative.
  20. I'm confused by the OP. Are you asking if I trust McDermott to bring in a better head coach? How many first time HC's get 3 offensive coordinators in 3 years?
  21. He should have qualified it; They're a good team "compared to the Bills." Would that work better for you?
  22. I guess I'm questioning who's actually making the personnel decisions. It seems a little murky, but perhaps you have more detailed knowledge.
  23. It's tough with college games, which I assume you're talking about. You'd want to go to a site that starts with R, type in the team names followed by game thread, and look for the one with streams. I'd never do it, but I've heard things.
  24. If John Bielien would have gone to the NBA, I would be in rough shape sports wise.
