  1. Ridiculous. I've been as high as anyone on Wyatt Teller, Taron Johnson, Matt Milano etc. Harrison Phillips does not look like he's gonna be some third round steal. He looks average. If you're seeing amazing performances from Phillips, perhaps you're watching a different game. He'll be a rotational guy going forward. Probably not much more than that.
  2. Right. It is what it is. In a perfect world, my number 1 problem in life would be that there wasn't direct public transportation from one location to another! Seems like some people tried to give some tips. Some people made jokes. Just don't understand the bitter response.
  3. Ugh. I've been waiting for Daniel to get a shot to prove that Trubisky is nothing but a product of Nagy's brilliance.
  4. R-E-L-A-X! This is a message board. People are going to crack jokes. If you sift through the thread, you'll pick up some tidbits of information that may actually help.
  5. They should absolutely pay Phillips. Probably gonna take something in the 6-7 mil a year range. I don't know what to make of Harrison Phillips. He hasn't played particularly well. He seems to get a lot of love because he was billed as the next "KW." J Phillips has the talent to make big plays. He hasn't made a ton, but the ability is there. Space eaters are less and less relevant in today's NFL. If they don't re-sign him, I'm sure many posters will extol the virtue of Beane's shrewdness.
  6. Josh Allen's game against Houston? He had 84 yards passing and accounted for zero touchdowns. Did you mean Tennessee when he had 82 yards passing and accounted for one touchdown?
  7. I was just throwing out random stats that seemed reasonable. Good info there. How about 20 TD's/13 INT's or 25 TD's 16 INT's? He'll have more rushing yards than all but a few QB's, but I still want to see at least 200 yards a game passing. It's all just speculation at this point, but something CLOSE to these numbers would demonstrate competence. I'd be fine with 24/17.
  8. At least you're willing to admit to a personal rooting interest which MAY shape your opinions. I respect that. I like flashier guys. Wanted JP Losman to work out because he had a certain swagger. Clearly didn't happen.
  9. 8-8 with Watson or Mahomes at QB going forward. Yes. I think any Bills fan in their right mind would take that over our current situation.
  10. The kind of guys we'd want to lock up may not be interested, but it's worth attempting.
  11. Watch Chase Daniel light the Lions up. For all the talk about Mahomes, Trubisky is the real system QB IMO. Nagy has done an incredible job with that team.
  12. That would be great. I was responding specifically to a quote of not spending like "drunken sailors." I get the sense that some people don't understand how much you've got to pay for premium talent. If they draft good players, they're eventually gonna have to pay them big time dollars if they want to keep them. I also think the narrative that Whaley was out there spending like the Yankees is a bit overblown. The only guy the new regime couldn't afford to pay was Gilmore. It happens. The smart organizations just find a way to move money around and finesse the cap.
  13. Something like 20 TD's/10 picks 3500 yards is not too much to ask. It's not great, but it would be good enough that we'd have some confidence going forward. Anything less than that and we've got to seriously think about his long term future.
  14. If they hit on their draft picks, they will either pay them BIGTIME after their rookie deals or they will lose them. You think Tre White or Edmunds are taking hometown discounts? Their agents beg to differ.
  15. For all the talk of the Chiefs offensive weapons, they had a grand total of 26 passing TD's last season. This year they're on pace for well over 50. Maybe that new quarterback, can never remember his name, is making them look better than they are. All I ever hear is the reverse. If that were true, why the quantum leap in passing TD's?
  16. What if the BPA is a longsnapper? Greatest accuracy/snap strength of all time. Wow's scouts all over the country with his rocket snaps. BPA is never 100% BPA.
  17. T. McGee had to be GASSED! Must have run damn near 200 yards. Wasn't April the ST coach during those years? Always had such well designed returns when KR's were still a thing.
  18. Not this year. Too many holes. Realistically, if Allen doesn't drastically improve next season, McBeane will likely be gone and the new regime would want their own guy. I understand the point made about a Trent Edwards type insurance plan, but this particular coach and GM are tied to Allen for better or worse.
  19. So we grade the Bills on a curve and that's acceptable? 9-7 in Buffalo is the equivalent of a freaking SUPERBOWL in Philly? I hate low expectations.
  20. I lived in Philly when Reid first started out as a HC. They would routinely blast him on the radio for this very thing. He's always been one to tinker. I would guess he's doing it even more now with the rule changes and his current QB, but it's not entirely new. I think Wade is done as a DC. The league is changing and it's changing fast. You either adapt or you die(career wise). Reid has clearly adapted. I don't think quality defense is antiquated. I think the way we view quality defense is antiquated. Defensive coaches have to be more creative.
  21. Kind of odd to see such a futuristic game played in a relic of an NFL venue. When I was a kid, you needed a quarterback. Now that I'm a bit older, you still need a quarterback. All this apoplectic talk about the collapse of the league is a bit overblown IMO. Andy Reid has been around the league for 30 years, 20 as a head coach. He found a freak QB. Of course rule changes have benefited the offense. That doesn't mean 54-51 games are the new norm. You will always need skill players executing at a high level. That's what you saw last night.
  22. Na. Haven't been a member of any message boards since !@#$ and that was like 15 years ago! That's probably a common choice for big Stevie Johnson fans.
  23. It sounds to me if I'm reading between the lines that he's referencing Allen's tweets. I'm admittedly an Allen skeptic as well as one of the more socially conscious people out there, but if that's his logic, then his logic is trash. The kid was 15 saying stupid stuff you'd hear in 15 year old circles. There wasn't a hint of malice behind any of it. If he's talking about his play.....lets just hope Josh proves Jalen Ramsey and LSHMEAB of TSW wrong.
