  1. Yeah. I was being somewhat glib. As much as I talk poorly of Allen, I'm starting to think he might end up the best of the bunch. Now keep in mind I don't love any of these guys. He's had the least amount of time, but none of them have really put up many wow moments. Darnold is a bust IMO. I don't like his mental makeup and I think he'll crumble under the NY pressure. Mayfield is one of those guys who could be the same mediocre player 10 years from now. He doesn't seem like a guy who will get dramatically better. Josh Rosen is the most accurate, but I've seen nothing from him. If we create an offense where Allen doesn't have to be a precision passer and use his mobility, I could see him having success ala Trubisky and Newton.
  2. I don't celebrate manufactured holiday's because I refuse to do x on a certain date based on arbitrary constructs. I don't need the earth's successful orbit of the sun to tell me to get drunk. I'll get drunk on Tuesday if I choose. My birthday is meaningless for the same reason. The earth once again did it's thing. Why do I need cake? It's really bizarre to see people running around in thick traffic today to save a buck. Amazon is up and running. I often wonder if their motivation for this is simply because they feel they're 'supposed to." They may not even know they've fallen victim to such group think. But I'd never tell anyone what to do nor judge. What I find is the opposite; admonishment for NOT playing along. My motto in life is DO YOU. As far as holiday pay, sign me up. When I was an hourly employee at the casino, I would work every holiday. I'll work 15 hours if they allow it. It's just another day in the life.
  3. Since we're talking about lower tier receivers, there's a dude named Covey from Utah that is straight electric. He's not listed on most draft boards, but if you get a chance, check him out. He'll probably end up on New England. Went on his mission so he's probably 24 years old. As for the top guy, I believe it's Hollywood Brown. The name itself is gold. You've also got to consider LiL Jordan. We need some swag!
  4. I don't really care if Alpha has a link or if it was explicitly stated by McDermott. There's a reason Allen got the start against Cincy in the 3RD PRESEASON game. The reason was that he was going to be the starter. Cincy manhandled our OL and JA looked like a deer in headlights. They were then forced to decide between Peterman and McCaron. Some choice. It's pretty obvious that's what went down.
  5. Ok. I'll be that guy. A better time to win would have been the beginning of the season.
  6. Did you really just blame the QB for a loss when said QB's team dropped 51 points on their opponent? That's pretty crazy. Mahomes is the MVP. Brees will win the MVP.
  7. Mariotta is a guy who made it very clear as a rookie that he didn't have what it took to be an upper echelon QB. It happens quite a bit. One only needs to look at the class of 2018.
  8. I never like when one guy gets all the credit. Just a personal gripe. Last season, it was apparent that Doug Pederson was pushing ALL the right buttons and he got zero credit until Wentz went down. Had it not been for Wentz's injury, you'd still probably hear very little about Pederson's impact on the team. (Yes, they're having a down year). Brees' ball placement is ridiculous. He's a HOF QB and 26/2 is just unheard of. I feel like they jinxed him by throwing up the 1 INT graphic right before he threw a pick. No debating Brees greatness. I just don't think the rest of that team or Peyton get enough love. No major disagreement here. Just quibbling. By the way, what the hell are you doing here? No second teams allowed!?
  9. I really hope we draft Oliver after reading through some of the responses in this thread.
  10. They have guys making contested catches LEFT AND RIGHT. I've watched almost every Saints game. This is what I mean. You're trying to undersell the rest of the team to pump Brees up. There's a reason he went 7-9 three years in a row. It was largely defense and the absence of the running game. Now they make plays on defense and have the best 12 punch in football in Kamara and Ingram. Brees is a HOF QB. That team and coach are great. The two are not mutually exclusive.
  11. I'm not trying to diminish Drew Brees performance this season, but that offense is unbelievably versatile. It tends to bother me when one guy gets all the credit at the expense of studs like Thomas, Kamara, and of course Sean Peyton.
  12. I had never heard that story about Stevie. God I love that dude!
  13. If the Bears had a legit quarterback, I think they'd be the toughest matchup for NO. They have the playmakers on D to at least slow down the Saints offense and a quick strike pass attack to mitigate NO's pass rush. Not sold on Trubisky though.
  14. I think I've heard all I needed to hear about this particular story. No need for the full version.
  15. Vending machine(drinks) No bugles for you pal! That is my kind of joint.
  16. Clearly a really bright, engaging kid. Glad he's put the off-field incident behind him. That kind of public embarrassment can send people to dark places if they're not well grounded. Rooting for this kid to continue to grow. I now think his floor is WR3. He can play in this league.
  17. I would love for the analytics folks, who I generally agree with, to look me in the eye and tell me Matt Ryan is not a choker. Yes, his line sucked, etc. etc. etc. He's just one of those guys with a rattled look in his face when you need the big play. The Saints are just a machine. The reason they have to be the favorite is because they can beat you so many different ways. They could probably beat most teams even if Brees had an off game. Their offense is predicated on high percentage plays. They require less luck than any team I've seen in quite a while. How crazy would it be if they run the table and Ryan Fitzpatrick was the only QB to beat them all season?
  18. I like McDermott. Do you have anything to add as it pertains to football?
  19. Tyrod's stats with the Bills were 51 TD's to 16 picks and 16 rushing TD's. Whatever you think of him, he's clearly a top 3 QB this century with this franchise and arguably the best. That's not saying much, but it is what it is.
  20. The only problem with that is that virtually all the new QB's are perfectly capable of moving out of the pocket and throwing on the run. Also, it's damn near impossible to find consistent interior pass rushers. If you do happen to find one, then by all means go for it. I still view edge rushers, particularly dynamic athletes capable of tracking mobile QB's, as the most important players on defense.
  21. Mixon was literally PUNCHED in the face. The principle of not hitting a woman is a good one. Men are naturally stronger and should not abuse that power. However, it's hard to ignore the force that particular woman used and the immediate, perhaps instinctive response by Mixon to strike back. Doesn't make it right per se, but I have a hard time viewing that woman as a "victim."
  22. Doug Flutie is number 3 on that list and he never played a game for the Bills in the 21st century. Considering the rest of the list, maybe that's actually a positive in terms of ranking. Nevertheless...
  23. That blonde woman also shoved him and close fist clocked him before he had time to process what had occurred. It looked like a natural reflex from Mixon. There's always a reason......just don't do it.
  24. That's pretty much the worst article ever written. Ugh. The Pittsburgh debacle where we got beat by their practice squad. I was done with Bledsoe after that one.
