Rating the Rookie QBs - What the Numbers Show
LSHMEAB replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lamar Jackson is a far better passer than I expected. Josh Rosen is far worse at everything than I could have imagined. Allen and Darnold are pretty much as advertised. MAYFIELD is far better than most could have expected. -
Tonight is the Raiders last game in Oakland
LSHMEAB replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Word is they may play at AT&T Park in San Francisco. One last season of DB's playing shortstop for half the season. Playing at Sam Boyd Stadium would be an embarrassment to the league. That is an awful COLLEGIATE football venue, even by Mountain West standards. You're damn right. We all remember where we were when the Las Vegas Locomotives hoisted the Fassel trophy after thumping the undefeated Florida Tuskers. -
There are plenty of posts that assume he's going to drastically improve. That's pretty much the same thing. He needs to improve and he will isn't much different than he doesn't need to improve.

There is just no justification or rationale for such a rule change and I don't think it's analogous to the touchback on a fumble OOB. You gonna rule a running back down as they approach the goal line if they happen to be using a defensive player to stay off the ground? It just doesn't make any sense. Tackle the guy and play to the whistle. It's that simple.

Leslie Frazier has never been a good DC
LSHMEAB replied to Billever76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with that assessment. Just pointing out that LAST offseason, we invested 10 mil and a 3rd round pick, yet universally seem to agree DT is an area of need. I know I need to get with the program, but I'm just not as enthusiastic about this regime as the real fans. Probably just a personal flaw. -

What ever happened to Harrison Phillips? How is it that we need a defensive tackle when we just paid a guy 10 mil and drafted one in the 3rd round? Should be good to go at the position. -
What is a high ceiling player in the NFL?

Sure would be nice to find out how people would behave in the event the Bills started piling up achievements. -

There's no doubt he's got a chance. He's got all the talent in the world. If he's able to scan the entire field, it's entirely possible he can be special. I think "accuracy" is not the main problem as it pertains to completion percentage; it's awareness. He locks on to his primary read too often and doesn't see the 2nd/3rd options as he either fires or takes off out of the pocket. The kid works extremely hard and I fully expect him to spend the offseason focusing on progressions. The one thing I can't do as a human being is pretend that I don't notice these things. Yes, I notice that our receivers are bad and that the OL is below average. But Josh has a lot of work ahead of him if he's going to reach that nebulous ceiling. -

I was referring to my quarterback. I know I'm not a "real fan" because I have doubts, but I'll still chime in. When I hear sophomore jinx, I think of all the excuses to come if things don't go according to plan. It seems as though recognition is the main problem as it pertains to both Edmunds and Allen and that is probably a common issue among "high ceiling" draft picks. It will either click or it won't. There's no way to know for sure one way or the other. -

You can't have a sophomore jinx if you don't have a freshmen blessing. -
Bills offensive talent trade value.

Beane. -
So we're dissecting the Logan Thomas play? Allen threw it where only Thomas could catch it. Would have been ideal if it had slightly less zip but a fine pass nonetheless. Would have required a superb catch by Thomas, but he could have had better timing on his jump. Not a "poor" effort by either player.

Father Time is finally catching up with Brady
LSHMEAB replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That Baltimore defense is playing LIGHTS OUT. If L Jax limits turnovers and the offense can put up some points, I EXPECT the Ravens to beat that team. And I was referencing the past when the Ravens were the only team to go into Gillette and actually come out with a W. As much hate as Flacco gets, he had his playoff moments. -

Yeah. Gronk has become a liability out there. His body is 50 years old. I've been watching Tom Brady for OVER 20 years as a Michigan fan and I've never once believed he was done...until now. Everything is off for him and PERHAPS he is subconsciously aware of it. He throws off his back foot to avoid ANY contact, etc. Not just because he knew he could beat the Bills. This has been going on for a while. I don't buy the injury thing and even if it is the case, Brady doesn't suddenly bounce back at 42. Manning was also injured toward the end of his time in Denver. You can be both injured and done. None of this means anything if the Bills don't drastically improve, but as far as the Patriots are concerned, it's over. I don't think they beat the Ravens if that ends up being the first round matchup. Wouldn't that be fitting? -
The Rosen Era Has Begun in Arizona

Rosen looks like trash and Lamar Jackson looks like he just might make it. The draft is such a crapshoot. -
Week 16 Bills at Pats Postgame Postmortum
LSHMEAB replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Levi Wallace is counted on to make tackles, something went wrong up front. But he clearly doesn't have the frame or instincts to stop the run. I'm not a fan of Star or Murphy but I've beaten that horse to death. Just have to live with it because they're not going anywhere. The organization has to have an amazing off season or we'll be looking for a new regime in 2020. It's that simple. -

I'm not seeing much out of Harrison Phillips either. Hopefully he gets stronger in the offseason, but he's low impact right now. Jordan Phillips ghosted this game as well. The defensive line MUST be addressed. This is Brady's last hurrah. I hope he comes back to be entirely honest. Gronk too. -
Week 16 Bills at Pats Postgame Postmortum
LSHMEAB replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Allen was the best player on the field for the Bills, we are in SERIOUS trouble as an organization. He struggled as virtually all rookie QB's do against Belichick in NE. Not a serious concern for his career trajectory, but if that's the best, what's the worst? Holy smokes.
