Anyone else feeling a bit depressed?
LSHMEAB replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not trying to rain on any parades, but it's not really encouraging that the only free agent worth keeping is a 35 year old linebacker. It's all gonna come to Josh Allen really. -
'96 Memorable Bills Game & the NFL Rules then
LSHMEAB replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are very few things in life more annoying than watching the Superbowl with a bunch of people with "limited" knowledge of the game. The commercial crowd if you will. Superbowl parties are a waste of my time. If I want to party, I'll party. If I want to watch football, I'll watch football. Not a fan of mixing the two. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
LSHMEAB replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally disagree with this assessment. If Kyle Williams was an average player, he'd still be a class act, but nobody would care. The reason we're celebrating him is partially because of his character, but mainly because he was an outstanding TALENTED football player. Not to nitpick this post, but it seems like his actual football accomplishments get overshadowed by his persona. The guy was a baller for many, many years at a grueling position. -
Nathan Peterman ranked #1 QB (Funny video)
LSHMEAB replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like many others, I'm surprised he wasn't ranked higher. -
The losing has really sucked the life out of my "devotion." I remember sitting in a bar celebrating a meaningless TD in the season finale against the Dolphins that made the score 31-6 Miami. Pretty sure we went for 2 and didn't convert. I was around 20 at the time. After all these years of losing, I've become much more emotionally numb to negative outcomes. I was a cockeyed optimist at the time and pretty much believed in everything the organization did. How times have changed.

Report: Jets to pursue Jim Harbaugh for HC
LSHMEAB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most of the fans are still with him because of the Rich Rod/Hoke debacles. As much as they're dissatisfied with losing to OSU/bowl games, they WANT to believe he's going to get it done "NEXT YEAR." Awkward is spot on. They should pay more attention to the guy coaching the basketball team who is truly ELITE, but that's another story. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
LSHMEAB replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understood your point. While I understand that Kyle was dedicated and a great locker room presence, he was also an extremely talented player who MADE PLAYS. That's the distinction between him and a guy like Star. This thread is about Kyle so I'll leave it at that. -

Star is the antithesis of Williams, but I'll reserve critique for another thread. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
LSHMEAB replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People will correctly scoff at this, but there was a time early in Kyle's career where the old school types didn't like him all that much. Didn't hold up well enough at the point of attack, etc. All he does is "make plays." I may be in the minority, but I like guys who make plays. I see a lot of the same criticism of Milano, who just "makes plays." -

Todd Gurley with the "I don't know he do it. He special" That was my favorite line. Just awesome. -

This. He gets the lunch pail label for obvious reasons, but what made him an outstanding football player was TALENT. If lunch pails lead to success, we'd have had a similar thread dedicated to Tim Anderson a few years back. -
Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"

We may have a bad supporting cast, but our OC is apparently a hot commodity around the league. -
Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
LSHMEAB replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How so? I'm talking about the player, not the circumstance. Allen has virtually nothing in common with Goff. Goff is a pocket passer with nice touch and accuracy lacking a huge arm and mobility. Trubisky and Allen are both big, mobile QB's who's main issues are accuracy and touch. -

Trubisky has really given me some hope. He's far and the way the closest comparison to Allen in terms of recent draftees. Would love to see that kind of second year jump for JA. Nagy has obviously made a world of difference in Chicago, but hey, Daboll is a hot HC candidate so who knows? My biggest fear is another Ryan Tannehill. A guy who lingers for years because he does just enough right to make people think he's the guy. Time will tell. -
The problem with that thinking is that if you roll the FS over to Collinsworth, Carl Pickens will torch man coverage. Damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of thing. And I wouldn't discount the possibility that Cincy may be thinking about a quarterback change. Coslet is known to favor this kid named Jeff Blake. Might not be a bad thing for Esiason with Greene and Lloyd gunning for his head every play.

Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
LSHMEAB replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then we get back to everyone else on the team sucks! It's circular logic that never advances the conversation. My guess is that if Allen improves and sites like PFF grade him higher, it will suddenly become a terrific measure of a QB's efficacy. I respect the time people have taken to quibble with some of PFF's methodology but still find it to be a valuable assessment tool. That's just me. -
McBeane will build a Wr Core of 2s & 3s.

Somehow that fool has more receiving yards than the QB has passing yards. That's nuts. Interesting prospect. -

You're crazy. If we can find a Timmy Euhus in this draft, our offense will be immediately transformed. His can do spirit is infectious and will inspire his fellow TE group to play the game the right way and give 113.4%. Talent and speed are nothing without grit and lunch pails full of hard work and determination. -

That's fair, but I'm pretty sure Zay was a McDermott special. When you consider they didn't make a robust effort to address receiver in the offseason and combine that with Ray Ray and Proehl, it would seem that Beane thought Jones would improve more than he has. BB has a chance to make it right this off season, but there is certainly reason for concern.
