  1. It's subtle but it's a positive. The little ad lib flicks to avoid taking a sack. He didn't get the ball to the LOS on one of them yesterday, but the situational awareness was outstanding. Plays like this make you realize how bad Allen "wants" it. It's fair to question some things like yes, ACCURACY, but there is no denying how much the kid wants to be great. Was thinking the same when we lined up to go for it in an usual spot but ended up with a false start. Allen can plunge ahead for 2 yards pretty much every time.
  2. I do remember hearing that now. I was trying to figure out the penalty so was a bit distracted. Hopefully, he's fine. Still loved the play.
  3. Exactly. For the love of God, it's still football. It looked vicious, but Thomas was running full speed to block somebody. It just so happened he ended up getting a shot on a guy who wasn't fully prepared for it. I'm glad the guys not injured, but the block took place within the framework of the play. It wasn't the type of completely unnecessary block that takes place away from the ball.
  4. Everybody and their mother is betting the Colts. I'll take my chances with Tennessee.
  5. Almost certainly not. That's the guy I really wanted, but it is what it is.
  6. Who's this Cowler and what does he know about football? Just busting your chops bud. I like McDermott. Many of the statisticians who I generally agree with look at our point differential from 2017 as a negative. What I took away was that his teams found a way to win tight games. I feel like McDermott has won quite a few more one possession games than he's lost. The blowouts are a concern, but winning the 50/50 contests is not something I'm accustomed to as a Bills fan. He's pretty conservative, but has done well with what Beane has given him to work with. 2019 is the true test.
  7. I'm sorry to those that feel this was excessive, but it's great to see one of these clips and have it be someone on our side doing the deed for a change.
  8. I didn't like the FA signings in 2018. That's largely where my skepticism comes from. As Teef alluded to, this off season will be crucial for Beane along with Allen's development. If he got the QB pick right and does a solid job with 90 mil and 10 picks, he'll silence all the doubters. Time will tell as they say.
  9. McDermott and Beane are often seen as one and the same, but they are certainly not. I'm much more convinced that McDermott is a quality coach than I am Beane a quality GM.
  10. I knew you would get blasted for your fair analysis of Allen's performance. Just have to suck it up and call it like you see it. The kid is an athletic marvel and I'm encouraged by much of what I saw from his this season. He's got a ways to go as a passer, but he seems to be a guy who's difficult to gauge because his strengths just might be enough to outweigh the weaknesses. Very fun game to watch.
  11. Nice game by Allen. We'll see how this offseason shakes out. I think it's time to let go of Tyrod. He's gone.
  12. My guess is the answer to this question will be different in April. Very nice to see KW go out in style.
  13. There's no denying the kid makes plays no other quarterback can make. I've altered that from few because that rope he threw in the second half was insane as well as the long TD run. Just don't see it from anyone else. There's also no denying that he threw several errant passes that you don't see from the top QB's. This is likely to be a sentimental day here at TBD with Kyle retiring and the offense lighting up the scoreboard, but we've got to keep things in perspective. If he can cut down on those errors, he's going to be a franchise QB.
  14. I'm as cynical as they come, but that was awesome. Congrats KW.
  15. Things like that NEVER happen until games like this. One thing is clear; the team will fight for McDermott. Can't say the same for Gase.
  16. No. That only happens when a win is advantageous. On the plus side, that throw to Ivory was the best play I've seen Allen make all season.
  17. Just lose baby! Having said that, I fully expect the Bills to win this game. Defense will be fired up for Kyle and the Dolphins will roll over if we get off to a good start with Gase on the outs.
  18. Minus Milano, our OLB's are not athletic. Combine that with a lackluster performance from the DL and Edmunds being out of position and you've got at least a partial answer.
  19. That's exactly where I'm at. The ridiculous plays he's able to make combined with a league that caters to QB's have given me the slightest bit of hope. I use the Trubisky model quite a bit because I personally hated him as a prospect and am frankly a little surprised that he's been able to have some success. I still don't think he's particularly good, but he's effective enough. We all WANT Allen to succeed, but as you've clearly demonstrated, he'd be defying some serious statistical odds. He's choosing to ignore 2017 and focusing on 2015.
  20. Kid from Duke looks legit. I'm not sure though because I haven't really looked at QB options.(Not that my opinion means much) Either way, Tannehill isn't the answer. I'm also not saying I believe Gase will be a good HC elsewhere. Simply stating that it was a tough gig with the organization committed to a quarterback who reached his ceiling as a rookie.
  21. Tannehill is a coach killer. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gase have success elsewhere.
  22. Dude. 2017 Kelvin Benjamin was a star and Zay Jones was damn near the Biletnikoff winner who'd be a stud with the right QB. All they needed was someone, ANYONE, besides Tyrod Taylor and the offense would start humming. It's the quarterback that makes the team. With the advances in modern technology over the last year, no quarterback can thrive without a tremendous supporting cast. Didn't you get the memo?
  23. The Daboll bit was tongue in cheek. I'd be willing to bet 5k that he doesn't even get an interview. He's lucky to still have a job as an OC. I wasn't a fan of Trubisky and still believe Nagy is the main reason for his success. Although you point out some key distinctions, I still view them as similar QB's. But thanks for ruining that tiny flicker of hope I had/have for Josh Allen! Sheesh.
