  1. No intention of coming at you personally for memory issues. Just pointing out that as fans, we do tend to change our tune on players once they're no longer part of the team.
  2. I'd rather have Mahomes and Gilmore FWIW, but I'm gonna avoid that rabbit hole today.?
  3. Really? For a guy that's been a fan since 73, it's hard to believe you don't remember how quickly our fans changed their tune about Antoine Winfield when he went to Minnesota. He went from gritty and great to small and stone hands.
  4. Yep. That's exactly as I see it. People have a hard time accepting that the Bills could have made a wise decision to let him walk AND Gilmore is among the best corners in football. It's not an either or proposition. Absolutely zero complaints with this regime's ability to evaluate and acquire cornerbacks.
  5. Again; these rankings are based on production, not projection. It was clear as day that Tebowmania wouldn't last, but it would have been appropriate to place him ahead of guys with more upside following his 2011 season. This list was not about who you'd rather have at QB in the future. At THIS point, Jackson has been a more efficient passer and Allen has been a more effective runner. Much can change in the future.
  6. I chose Milano because he made the greatest impact on the defensive side of the ball. Without that defense, we're probably drafting first. Hard to choose anyone on offense as MVP considering how awful the unit was as a whole over the course of the season.
  7. Jackson has been a more efficient passer but Allen has a higher QBR because he's been a more effective runner. I'd say Allen has a much higher ceiling, but these rankings are reflective of past performance and not projection. A 6-1 record for a team that started 4-5 is naturally going to get Jackson some clout in these subjective rankings.
  8. If someone wants a Bills player to fail, I wouldn't consider them a fan. I'm emotionally invested for 3 hours a week during the season. That's more than enough. I don't equate criticism of Allen to "wanting him to bust" anymore than I would criticism of Dion Dawkins. Do we have to love everything about every player or just the QB?
  9. That could very well be the case, but Bosa hasn't played in quite awhile. It makes sense they were looking at him a couple of months ago now that I think about it. The list is informative but obviously incomplete.
  10. Not quite sure why they're wasting their time scouting Bosa. I suppose they were doing so before the final draft slots. Glad to see they're looking at Marquise Brown.
  11. There are no Bills fans who want Allen to bust. There are Bills fans who can put their emotions aside and logically evaluate the state of the team. Plenty of people don't like our starting left tackle. I suppose they want to see Dawkins bust.
  12. Yep. Very similar QB's. Get Allen some guys with speed/large catch radius and we could see a huge leap next year. Bears added Gabriel and Robinson and drafted Anthony Miller. We've also got to address the line but have plenty of resources to do it. Not Bills related, but how the hell did Nick Mullens rush for -16 yards this season? This isn't college where sacks are rushing yards. That's just an odd thing.
  13. Why must every metric/analysis of Allen that isn't gushing be met with such disdain? People are not out to get Allen. He didn't p*** in anyone's Cheerios. The sheer passing numbers don't paint a pretty picture. There is context as the supporting cast isn't great and Allen got markedly better as the year progressed. I suppose they could have added a disclaimer that the Bills offense was the Little Giants. That would have made everyone feel better. This particular writer places Allen ahead of Rosen. We took the right Josh. Isn't that a good thing?
  14. Gotta have a designated long snapper. What an underappreciated position. The ONLY time anyone would mention your name is if you screw up. Seems like such a unique skill that it probably requires year round dedication to long snapping, which is why a position player couldn't just up and do it. The same reason most pitchers can't hit.
  15. I wasn't implying Williams was unathletic. I'm just leery of a guy on the slim side who's not PARTICULARLY athletic, especially when we're talking about a top ten pick. It's my preference that they get a DOMINANT player as I'm equally concerned about run blocking as pass pro. I'd much prefer a guy like Nelson who just dominates and pushes defenders around, but players like that don't come around often. Plan on looking at the other tackles in the draft so I appreciate that you brought this dude to our attention.
  16. It's a bit of a no-no to draft a guy top ten who's not an LT. Having said that, we need to get more athletic and dominant up front so I'm at least interested. When you look at what Nelson did for Indy, you realize the kind of impact a true road grader can have. I don't know enough about Taylor one way or the other, but I'm hoping Williams is gone before we pick. Very unathletic line we have that desperately needs an infusion of TALENT. Williams is a tactician, which is fine, but I want more.
  17. The truly bad WIN was the Lions game in which we essentially won on a missed FG. Does the team really grow from a game like that? I know people don't like to think of losing as winning, but mathematically, it would have been better for the team to lose that game. Even if you don't mind picking at 9 because of position, etc., we'd still have more draft capital and could have moved down and acquired picks. As the OP pointed out, it could have been worse so it's best to just accept their record for what it is. If's and but's are candy and nuts.
  18. Who's hiring all these bums? Good riddance. Kind of tough to gauge a ST coach when there's been so many issues with the punter, etc, but the results are the results.
  19. I think you may be on to something. I get the feeling many so called Patriots' supporters will be tuning out for good in the coming years.
  20. Wouldn't be bothered if someone referred to me as a Social Justice Warrior because I tend to fall on that side of that ledger. Having that said, those tweets are harmless. He was a naive 15 year old kid quoting rap songs/lines from pop culture, etc. It's a non story. No idea who leaked them and I'm fine with that. Spend enough time with someone and their true character will be revealed. Allen seems to have the respect of the team and that's what's important.
  21. Anyone else concerned that Harry might not have the juice? Not the end of the world to miss on a 3rd round pick, but I didn't see much of anything from him all season. Definitely in favor of re-signing J Phillips.
  22. I remember Beuerlein commenting that Allen called an audible on that particular play.
  23. Was not aware of his size at the age of 17 I presume. I still think it's odd that someone with that arm and that mobility could fly under the radar, but it's certainly a component of the explanation. Agreed with the points about Dilfer. We think of him as a game manager because of the way his career played out, but he was the business at one point in time; a highly regarded prospect so coveted that he came out a year early and was taken at 6. There's no doubt in my mind that Allen will do everything humanly possible to get better as a player, and a large part of that could very well be attributed to his unusual path to the NFL.
  24. My gut feeling is that this was Robiskie's decision. Zero factual basis for that, but at his age, maybe he just wanted to retire to Florida or something as opposed to being a position coach.
